Nba 2010-2011

Fantastic result for the Lakers, to win by 16 points at the best team in the NBA is impressive, the first quarter set the tone for the game.

7 wins on the bounce now, and ever since the All-Star break the team is playing a lot better, the defeat against the Cavs seems to have done more good than harm.

Edit: what a jump

Miami Heat players moved to tears after another close loss - Ball Don't Lie - NBA* - Yahoo! Sports

It's safe to say the Miami Heat took Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bulls harder than some of their noted fair-weather fans. According to Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, several Miami players were reduced to tears following the team's 87-86 loss to the Bulls. The defeat marked their third close loss to Chicago this season, and it tops off a frustrating week that started last Sunday with the squad's tough defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks. The Heat now have lost four in a row.

After Dwyane Wade's(notes) last-second desperation jumper rimmed out, a catatonic Heat team sulked to the locker room. The Heat's season-long clutch struggles were made even more obvious with Sunday's national TV showing while Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said after the game that Chicago has "guys who can close."

And whether he was trying to relay his team's frustration and obsession with winning, or trying to point out a weakness, Spoelstra dropped a dime on some unnamed players. According to The Associated Press:

And when it was over, Spoelstra said some in the Heat locker room were moved to tears.

"Just to come up short again and again, it hurts," [Chris] Bosh said. "We all want to win. We all want to win very badly."

Bosh also told ESPN's Brian Windhorst that while he wasn't among the players who were crying, he was nearly in tears after yet another close loss.

Wade? He took a different, snottier, approach. From the AP:

"The Miami Heat are exactly what everyone wanted, losing games," Wade said. "The world is better now because the Heat is losing."

Oh, stop it. As if you didn't have any idea last summer that NBA fans would react poorly to you flexing and preening for the cameras, promising championships three months before training camps even started.

What's more important is this astonishing lack of clutch play from Miami's troika of LeBron James(notes), Wade and Bosh. All three had exemplary clutch statistics in the seasons leading up to 2010-11, but in shots taken with less than 10 seconds to go in the fourth quarter or overtime, with Miami trailing by three or fewer points, the Heat have gone 1 for 18 this season. A falloff like that is remarkable and just about unprecedented in recent NBA history.

With the win, the Bulls have moved percentage points ahead of Miami in the Eastern Conference standings while sweeping the teams' season series three to nil.

 Bunch of cry babies.

Nice dunk but I counted three steps without once placing the ball on the court.

it looks like that, but i froze the clip and brown catches the rock in midstep. his first contact with the floor after catching the ball is his left foot, then he places his right foot down (end of step 1) and then takes of with his left foot (end of step 2).

it's legit.

The next 5 games for the Miami bitches

Blazers, Lakers, Grizzlies, Spurs, Thunder

With the Grizzlies game being the only gimme

Stephen A Smith mentioned it on his show or blog or article, can't recall. It was on Mike & Mike this morning and Smith's name was brought up. I guess Melo asked Amar'e about it. Apparently, it's going around the league and players are laughing. Might get the coach fired (bad excuse to do so and only papering the cracks).

Bosh is a pussy, as Durant said he's a 'fake tough guy'.

The Heat lack the winning mentality that the Lakers and Kobe have, even Derrick Rose has more heart than the big-3 at Miami.

To be fair to them, the big three do their job by scoring at least 65-75 points a game. It is the others who need to take more responsibility to help out these three. But yeah they suck for now and I hope they don't reach the Eastern Conference finals.

They all went to Miami because they thought it would be easy. What did tue caves owner say about lebron something about basking in the gleamin light of heaven but not putting the work toget there

What did they expect all taking massive contracts and restricting the club to limited signings?

It's their own doing.

Oh, and this... it's all about the Big 3... actually more like Big 2 and another guy.

Not one... not two... not three... not four... not five... not six... not seven...

lebron was an idiot. i really thought he was going to go to chicago with d.rose and noah. would've been a much better team/bench for him. unfortunately didn't want the spectre of jordan hanging over him.

For immediate success yes, but many pundits say LeBron in Chicago would have interrupted with Rose's current maturation. LeBron wants the ball in his hand which limits Rose's, a true PG, ability to run the tempo. Rose wouldn't be putting up the stats he has so far had LeBron been there.

I personally felt Madison Square Garden was the place for LeBron to end up. Especially playing in D'Antoni's system. He'd have been used much like Pippen in Chicago while Jordan was semi-retired.

Kevin Love posted his 51st consecutive double-double, tying the longest streak since the merger. Incredible consistency considering he plays for such a shit team.

Easier to be consistent playing for a shit team. Though the dudes still clearly a beast of all beasts. Basically Rodman with shooting ability.

Yup, taking nothing away from him, absolutely no one else on his team rebounds...watch them play, he is the only one interested

If Love has any ambition he'll refuse a contract extension with Minnesota and hit the free agency front. He can immediately turn a good team into a bonafide contender with his inside presence. Imagine him taking a low offer for a year or two to play in Miami (please gawd no) or LAL or wherever.

Granted a new CBA will most likely have the ridiculous franchise tag that I deplore in the NFL. Which means Love ain't going nowhere. If he does it will cost the signing team multiple draft picks most likely, or a sign-and-trade deal if those still exist.

Kevin Love: NBA Team Recruited Him At NBA All-Star Game

Kevin Love acknowledges Thunder and Lakers as destinations in free agency | I am a GM

NBA needs the franchise tag really. Otherwise you might as well scrap like 20 of the 30 teams, it won't stop with Amare and Carmelo, if they don't implement it, it's just going to be like 6 teams with 3 superstars, The Bulls and two ageing teams in the Mavs & Spurs.

Next year alone you probably have Paul going to the Knicks cheap, Nash to Miami looking for a ring and Howard to the Nets teaming up with Deron. Or something stupid like that, CBA needs to prevent this or well the NBA needs to bring in tiered system, because why should most teams even bother?

The NBA has been top heavy league for three decades. No one complained when it was the Lakers/Celtics, Bulls/Rockets and Lakers/Spurs/Celtics. Now that Miami has signed LeBron and Bosh it's a problem. Granted I dislike LeBron for choosing Miami, it's a free market. I don't agree on limiting the free trade enterprise. Build a good team around the star player and he'll most likely remain. Although LeBron bailed on Cleveland, a club that had made a finals (surprisingly) and followed that up with consecutive 60 win seasons.

1980s- Lakers, Celtics, Rockets, 76ers (early 80s), Pistons (late 80s)

1990s- Bulls, Rockets, Jazz, Blazers (early 90s), Knicks, Suns, Pistons (early 90s), Magic (mid 90s)

2000s- Lakers, Spurs, Pacers (early 00s), Nets (early 00s), Mavs, Pistons (mid 00s), Celtics (late 00s)

In the past 6 months alone, Lebron, Bosh, Deron, and Carmelo have bailed on their teams, thats 4 players who were considered top 10 by a lot. Howard and Paul are hinting about doing the same, so that'll be 6 in the space of 2 years pretty much....Nash you can let off because it's different taking a vet minimum looking for a ring. You never saw that kind of bailing in the 90's or 80's or even 00's....it's farcical.

The league didn't grant unrestricted free agency to players who had reached seven years service and the end of their contract until 1988. Before then, it was right of first refusal.

So thats still 22 years. A couple jumped ship in the 90's, Drexler, Barkley etc, but not many at their peaks while still under 30.

Not to team up with another top 10 calibre in his peak player.

Sorry but I dont know any motherfecking person in this motherfecking world that think Chris fecking Bosh is a top ten player in the league

Clips are 15th in the NBA in attendance, despite not having their own arena and being the 2nd team in their city. Kings are 29th.

One reason: Blake Griffin.

As long as Sterling owns this club, they'll never be anything remotely resembling a contender. Griffin will end up at another club in 3-5 years. Sterling is a tick sucking the blood out of that club to make money. Keeps payroll low, doesn't have his own arena so there are no big payments to make, receives the luxury tax dividend, etc.

15th in attendance certainly isn't a note to put on a bio/resume.
