Doesn't mean he has to stay. He can always resign and void the contract. Word is he lost his team, and most notably Deron Williams. Long-time assistant Phil Johnson is leaving with him.

Press conference at 5pm Eastern today. Tyrone Corbin will take over.

No coming back if he lost the team, sad way to go considering he was there for 20+ years and the Jazz aren't doing too bad this season.

Andrew Bynum is one piece of shit. He struggled against Nuggets. This guy is just big. He has no basketball brain. He pisses me of so much.

Terrific win for the Lakers over Boston, down by 15 at one point but Kobe and Pau did some damage in the second half.

Well done also to Ray Allen, now the NBA's all-time three-point scorer.

It is over. Cavs finally win and end their NBA record 26 game losing streak.

Lakers with an impressive win at the Knicks, Kobe was excellent and the bench did a good job as well. There was one dunk in particular from Shanon Brown in the second quarter which was

Clippers got robbed on the final play in regulation. That appeared to be a clear goal-tending but probably never getting called on the home side.

In OT, there appeared to be clear over the back call not given (echoed by Kenny Smith (I think it was him) in the studio as well). Cavs kept possession and Jamison hit's a ridiculous three that pretty much sealed it.

I really wanted to see the Cavs vs Wizards for an all-time shit bowl.

So small-time to see confetti after the game ended.

Apparently the Kings are organizing a "Greater than AIDS" night tonight. Apparently we're so bad that we have to use the "Hey. At least we're not AIDS," defense.

I kid. It's a good cause.

Yeah that was a sick dunk. He caught the bad pass with his right hand and was in the air long enough to dunk it with both his hands.

Lakers have lost two in a row - the last two of their away games. They are now 2-8 against the Bobcats in their last 10 meetings.

Dear Kings,

Not even the Cavs would want Luther Head, yet he's on your team. I guess that's fine, but please don't ever let him start a game ever again.

jveezy

P.S. If you can somehow get him to stay away from basketballs in general, Northern California would greatly appreciate it.

They should make a move for Melo

Trade Artest and Bynum to make it happen, could work out.

A starting lineup of Fisher, Bryant, Melo, Odom and Gasol would be pretty strong, although they'll lose their size advantage that they have and would make a very tough matchup against the Celtics.

Can't see them winning if they make the trade happen though.

I think it would be a good idea for the Lakers, Kobe isnt going to last forever, and let's be honest 7'0'' or not Bynum will never be as good as Melo so there is no sense in wanting to keep him would you could have Anthouny.

In the long run, I reckon Bynum is a better fit for a championship team than Anthony is. Although with his injury record, it might be wise to cut their losses and gamble on Anthony.

Would be ideal in my opinion if they manage to trade for Nash for Artest. Keeps their size advantage and Nash is a major upgrade over Fisher at point. Although whether Nash would fit into the triangle offense is another matter.

Whose going to be the star in LA in a few years when Kobe is gone? I'd think Anthony would stand more of a chance than Bynum.

Shocking loss, people keep saying the Lakers will wake up when the play-offs start but I'm not too sure about that. Only 1 win against the bigger teams and there have been a few shocks/blow outs all season to have Kobe & Phil concerned.

Regarding Bynum, there was an article about the time the Anthony trade rumours began which basically stated the Lakers would not trade Bynum for Carmelo as they would be interested in trading him for Dwight Howard next season. Not sure how true that rumour is but I think that is more realistic than Melo coming to LA - I still think he will be at the Knicks next season.

The time to win is not in the future for the Lakers, it's now. Why would they trade a vital piece of their team now when this is Jackson's last season?

And Anthony is not good enough to be the main man at any Championship winning team, let alone the Lakers.

Now this is a trade I can see happening, Howard's contract is up at the end of next season, so he could force a trade to Lakers if he wants (theoretically), and Dwight is one of the few players who can improve any team in the league. The LA fans will love his flashiness if he goes there.

I do and its bloody brilliant!

Finally someone has replied. Okay mate I need your help. I play the Association mode and after the end of the season, I m trying to sign the big free agents, i.e. Carmelo, Randolph etc. and it won't let me.

For example, I was playing with the Celtics and they had a salary cap of -19.8m and I reduced it to +100k within a year and I was still not able to sign anybody big.

Have you tried to do this? Any ideas how to sign free agents?

Eh, what?

You need more salary cap space...

So you'd risk one year for the future? Anthony isn't good enough to bethe lakers main man, well he isn't Kobe that is true, he is still absolutely miles better than anyone else on the lakers.

One final shot at the Championship for Jackson, and a shot to rebuild your team in the future by trading for Howard.

Howard > Anthony anytime for me.

Did you watch the 2003 NCAA Championship, guess not

Dominated a pretty weak NCAA Championship in my opinion.

Did you balls drop or something?

A player with his build and athletic ability should be doing much more than just showing up on the offensive end, it's one thing popping up with a high ppg, it's another to do a job on the defensive end, Anthony isn't showing that side of his game yet.

To sum it up, I just think that Anthony is like Pippen, he just needs someone else on the team to be Jordan.

Wouldn't it be nice to team him up with Kobe then?

Yes it would be nice, but Howard with Kobe would be even better, and I thought we were initially referring to Lakers after Kobe had retired. :nervous:

Although whatever the trade, Phoenix will still lag behind :(

That's fair enough, but Howard will never be a Shaq in LA, he just isnt good enough offensively.

Well, if (really big if), the Howard trade comes through, you would question how they would mark the Lakers.

Howard's a freak of nature, and with Kobe around, he's going to get enough open shots. Now if he would just do something about his FT%....

I like Bynum though, he has a more well-polished offensive skill-set when compared to Howard, but he can't be trusted to stay fit for long.

Sorry, I can't help. I've not done the association mode. I'm more into the 'My Player' mode.
