Nba 2010-2011

This thread needs more discussion and love for "The Great White Hope" aka Kevin Love. He's a beast...plus he's not a douche like Lebron.

I'm gonna hold off on Kevin Love until I see him play for a contender. Hard to argue against the numbers he's putting up, but I don't normally wank myself silly over good players in rubbish teams. He's the only rebounder on that team, Beasley and Darko both grab less than 6 rebounds despite playing similar minutes. Alternatively, Minnesota get good, with a couple of more signings, and I'll see what happens to his stats at that stage...if he's still a beast, there will be plenty of love forthcoming.

All-Star Starting line-ups announced:

East: Rose, Wade, James, Stoudamiere, Howard
West: Paul, Bryant, Anthony, Durant, Yao

The East team is exactly what I would've picked. The West team I would have gone for Nowitzki as a starter instead of Yao, who is somehow in there despite playing next to nothing for the past 2 seasons.

Yep and apparently the starting center for the West is going to be picked by David Stern.

Hard to tell but you have to think it was unintentional because it's a stupid thing to do if he intended it.

Kings win their NBA Finals.

Ahead 14 points in the fourth quarter at Mordor and ALMOST threw it away again, but not this day. 51% shooting. Something is wrong with the Lakers' defense.

Not just the D, but Pau. He started the season on fire, but the last 20 or so games, has really tailed off.

Scoring and rebounding both down massively.

I think the Lakers just know they don't really have to put a great deal of effort in in the regular season, since its farcically easy to make playoffs and get home advantage.

BOOM, bitches! Back to back wins against the Lakers and Hornets (who were on a 10 game winning streak) with two 50+% shooting nights.

Bring on Boston! And San Antonio! And Utah! And...

Dallas...Oklahoma City...Phoenix...Oklahoma City again...Dallas again...Miami...and Orlando? feck me.

 Yep. You are screwed. I ll be surprised if you win one of those next few games.

Heat hold on for a win against the Thunder. Now for the rematch of last season's finals. Lets go Lakers!

It'll be interesting to see if the Lakers show up today

HT: Lakers lead 54-50. Good half from both teams, Kobe making some wonderful shots and Odom has done well again, except for that stupid foul at the end of the half. Pau's done ok but he's missed a couple of open shots which he really should be making.

Celtics win. Good game, Celtics played very well and were lead by a terrific performance from Pierce. Hit some big 3 pointers as well.

Lakers did well in patches, but never really took control of the game at any point. Kobe was exceptional but got too greedy at the end of the game (understandable as the others did feck all in offense). Odom offered something as he has done all season but for some reason wasn't in the game at the end when the Celtics pulled away.

Gasol was really poor imo. Maybe he's just tired from all the minutes he's played this season, but this was a very disappointing performance from the big man.

Another blow-out defeat at home for the Lakers. I doubt we will get the #1 Western seed, unless the Spurs crumble.

So my young lads support Orlando Magic, I'm curious to know for their sake, any chance of a "Championship" win this season?

Magic are a good team, made the finals a few seasons back and will make the playoffs again this season. They're currently the 4th best team in the East but both the Celtics & Heat have better chances of making the NBA Finals this season than Orlando does. They do have the best centre in the NBA with Dwight Howard, but his contract is almost up so it will be imperative they resign him.

Cavs lost their 21 straight game, has to be one of the longest losing streaks in recent time.

There is no way the Magic are going to beat the Heat and the Celtics over the stretch of 7 games. I don't even think they can beat the Bulls. For the playoffs Bulls will have Boozer and Noah and then their starting is more formidable than it is now. They had no Boozer first and now no Noah and they are still third. That's impressive. They won't even win the East let alone beat the team from the West.

It is the longest losing streak in Cavs' franchise history. At least they will get a first round pick next season. Plus they are a young team and have Mo and Varejao out for the season. They might do better next season.

Talk of the Lakers trading has started a rumour Ron-Ron wants out of LA as he is feeling marginalised by the triangle-offense. I don't think anything will come of this, but if Artest wants to leave the champs then he needs to revisit his psychiatrist.

Can't believe Odom didn't make it, deserved to be there on his consistent performances this season. There's a bit of backlash on Griffin getting picked to be an all-star in his rookie season. I don't see why he should not be there, his numbers are exceptional and he is a crowd favorite with his dunks.

Good win for the Mavs, big shot by Kidd at the end and Dirk played very well. Mark Cuban said the Mavs would be willing to rent Carmelo, would be a great asset to Dallas, but I reckon Melo will be going to NY.

Cavs now 1 loss away from holding the longest losing streak in NBA history themselves, currently tied for the record at 23. Wonder if James feels any sympathy for Cleveland?

Lamarcus Alridge has been a beast as well for the Blazers. He has been averaging 21.5 points and 9 rebounds. That is good enough to get into the All Star. He has the consistency and his FG and FT% are very good for a forward/center.

I would love Melo and Kobe in the same team, but I wouldn't want to lose the size advantage Bynum gives us. How would Anthony fit in if this does happen?

We have Artest only for defensive purposes really this seaon. He is doing shit offensively and I won't complain if he gets traded. With Carmelo at the 3 and Kobe at the 2, we would be unbeatable.

Adding Anthony would make LAL a better offensive unit but worse defensively. Despite Bynum's injury problems, his size and length is needed against opponents. Who replaces his size in the post?

I think this would be a big mistake.

However, it was mentioned Denver might want to rid more salary so if they could get a big body for the post, then perhaps it could work. Maybe Chris Anderson, granted he has injury concerns as well.
