Nba 2010-2011

Blake Griffin is doing so good in his first season. He is easily going to win the Rookie of the Year and also easily going to win the Dunk contest. He has not scored below 10 points this season so far. In other words he has no single digit scoring games so far. That is just amazing for a rookie.

From what I've seen of him, Griffin looks to be a monster of a player, will only get better.

Has he confirmed he is entering the Dunk Contest? He'll win it if he does, I'd love to see him and LeBron go at it (LeBron's not ruled himself out yet). Hopefully the contest is better than last year's shit.

Wow they are celebrating like they won the Championship or something. I did not know a win means so much to them.

1 win in the last 19 games before that. That win brought us to 6 and 23. Yeah a win means a lot.

Considering we've gone 0.500 since then and our two wins came against decent teams like Phoenix and Denver, looks like a pretty big moment in hindsight.

I love buzzer beaters, that's something I enjoy the most in basketball, unless I support any team.

I remember watching my local team's game in TV when I was 7. Lost by one point in last second, video below. Basketball is very famous in my town, because we have a top Polish side here, champions of Poland and we finished the league seven times in eleven season as runner-up.

Look how basketball changed in Europe in 12 years time, we had a very strong league those days.

PS. I know it's thread about NBA, but I wanted to post it here.

PS2. My favourite team is Atlanta Hawks (to post something about NBA).

Yes he has confirmed it. Its going to be Blake Griffin, Brandon Jennings, Serge Ibaka and Javale McGee. It is going to be an easy win for Griffin. It is going to be worse than last year because just looking at the players who are in it, it is going to be a walkaway win for Blake.

Nets closing in on Melo, incredible trade which apparently involves 3 teams and 12-15 players!

I was hoping he would go to the Knicks. Don't really know if it'll happen though. Certain players are having second thoughts about the trade.

Yeah I thought he would end up at the Knicks, don't know but they don't seem as interested in him recently as they were at the start of the season (salary cap issues?)

Big result for the Lakers, must be the first time this season all the starters (plus Odom & Shannon) scored double-digits. Plus, Kobe only needed to play half the game so get some rest.

Great result and Lakers building some nice momentum, but considering Cavs have lost 20 of the last 21 games it puts the result in some perspective. Still, I don't see the Heat getting a 55 point win

LeBron tweeted: "Crazy. Karma is a bitch. Gets you every time. It's not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!" Bet he enjoyed the rout.

See the comment Lebron made afterwards? Completely classless, He and Dan Gilbert really did deserve each other.

Yeah just edited my original post to include the quote. He needs to move on, his behaviour when they played in Cleveland by taunting the Cavs bench was cnutish itself, this is pathetic.

Clippers beat the Heat in a shocker. Blake Griffin is a BEAST. There is no other word to describe this lad. He is just an amazing talent. His stats for a rookie area absolutely staggering.

It'll happen, Melo wants to go to NYC and wants big money, so this is how itll happen, it will need to be a 3 or 4 team deal just because all of the salaries flying around.

Melo to the Lakers rumors around town, doubt it though

Can't see Melo going to the Lakers, he's quoted as saying he wants to "go back home" (ie. to New York.) I still think he'll end up at the Knicks, but the Nets seem to be in pole position to land him.

Thankfully, he's ruled out doing a LeBron type 'decision'.

Chicago win the Eastern Conference? Are you in dreamland?

I won't even say that as a Chicago homer.

Washington are only 4 games behind a playoff spot despite missing Wall for a lot of games.....do you think they'll make the playoffs?

Again, dreamland scenario. Can the Bulls possibly hang and get to game 7 with Miami and Boston in the playoffs? Yes. But barring a long injury to either Lebron or Wade, they won't finish above either of them, they are contending with Magic for third.

4 games behind the conference leaders and 4 games out of a playoff spot are not precisely the same thing. It's like comparing being 4 points behind United (Arsenal) and ~4 points behind 10th place (Liverpool).

Tis actually a good comparison, Arsenal and Liverpool(4 points off 7th 3 off 8th) have about as much chance as Chicago winning the title and Washington also being 7th or 8th.

But considering 4 points in Football can be made in 2 games, it's just a weird comparison. Still my point stands, Bulls aren't a conference contending side, partly because once they have a top 4 slop and the division tied they'll slip into second gear as they aren't as deep as other teams, so they'll need Rose/Noah/Booz fresh as possible for a legit playoff run.

Tis actually a good comparison,

It is a good comparison, but your perception is a bit odd. Leave out the game in hand, and Arsenal are a couple of good results (if they ever find their bollocks and stop dicking around the midfield for 80 minutes) away from tying us. Washington are a wank team which might just possibly on the verge of being mediocre.

Melo to the Lakers rumors around town, doubt it though

There is no way this is going to happen. No way! First I doubt they have the money to get him and pay his wages and then there might be the ego problem between him and Kobe. But it would be cracking though, especially for me since I m a Lakers fan.

Lakers won their 7th straight game, I think this is their longest win streak since the 8-0 start.

One thing I've noticed (from the stats) is that Artest's been scoring points during this win streak. He may be there primarily for his defence, but he needs to contribute offensively as well and since he has done, LA has been winning.

Blake Griffin is quickly becoming my favorite player outside the Lakers.

Scored 47 points and had 14 rebounds in the win over the Pacers and that was his 27th consecutive double-double in his rookie season! I love the guy's intensity even if it caused a bit of a scuffle with Odom (why Artest was ejected I don't know) and he is playing out of his skin at the moment.

Also, having seen him play a few times this season, Derrick Rose has been another player who has been very impressive. He has that ice-cold look on his face like Kobe does.

Can Griffin be considered amongst the elite in the NBA yet or is it too soon? The rookie's a machine and he's literally improving every month.

I'd say so, he is a dominant force down low reminds me of Dwight Howard to some degree, he just has so much raw power and athleticism that he is a great player. If there were a draft today between all NBA players I would be surprised if he werent amongst the top 10.

Cavs have lost 18 straight! They have the worst record. They are doing worse than the Nets and Kings. At least they are getting first pick next year. Maybe that player can help them out. They are a really young team now and Byron Scott is having a tough time coaching them. I have a feeling his days might be numbered.

Next draft looks pretty weak imo. Only the top 3 players look anything like they can make it in the NBA long term

All-Star Starting line-ups announced:

East: Rose, Wade, James, Stoudamiere, Howard
West: Paul, Bryant, Anthony, Durant, Yao

The East team is exactly what I would've picked. The West team I would have gone for Nowitzki as a starter instead of Yao, who is somehow in there despite playing next to nothing for the past 2 seasons.
