Nasri quotes from the NOTW interview

"Money has never been my motivation. I have always taken decisions from a football point of view"

"With no titles under your belt, u can't be in list for Ballon D'Or. I came to England for trophies We all need to get out of comfort zone"

"We already earn huge wages. The priority is to make a big career and to win titles. This is more important than everything else"

"I don't want to sign for a club where I wouldn't be playing the football that I like, where I wouldn't feel happy, just for the money".

Fergie: Barca beat me to £35m Sanchez... but Sneijder and Modric are still in my sights

By Bob Cass

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he was prepared to break a club record to take Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

The manager pulled out of a £35million move for the most coveted forward in the world after learning that United, Chelsea and Manchester City had been beaten to the Chilean by Barcelona, who will complete the signing of the brilliant South American next week.

But the disappointment at missing out on the Udinese forward to the Champions League winners so soon after they beat United at Wembley has only strengthened his resolve to add another big name player to his squad.

I understand Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder and Tottenham’s Luka Modric are still in his sights.
Ferguson has already spent £50m on winger Ashley Young, defender Phil Jones and goalkeeper David de Gea as he rebuilds his title-winning team. The Scot acted early in the transfer window and left United’s rivals in his wake, still shopping around with few signs of big business being completed as they return for pre-season training.

Arsenal’s Samir Nasri will be the next big move in the Premier League, with Ferguson believing the France midfielder will join Manchester City this week.

United’s supporters, who had feared that Ferguson’s spending was being capped by the club’s owners, the Glazer family, despite claiming a record 19th English league title last May, will have been reassured by his summer spending spree.

That theory has been shown to be false by the manager’s recent activity and will look even more hollow once he makes his next decisive move.

No quotes, but Bob Cass is close to Fergie. Ghost wrote is autobiog i believe.

Bob Cass' article is more like a "If" clause.

If those quotes are from Nasri, it means "Red" alert. Possibly next week.

Rio says he has difficulty getting names from S.A.F. on transfers, Bob Cass is not likely to fare better.

EXCLUSIVE: Fergie - Ronaldo was always going to quit... and I'm losing Tevez to City | Mail Online

Fergie's journo pal Bob Cass thinks Tevez is off to Siddy

And it was Cass who spoke to Fergie from his holiday in France
[16] Fergie's journo pal Bob Cass thinks Tevez is off to Siddy

In this case he got it right for sure

Bob Cass hasn't got a scooby. It was he who wrote that "Henry to United" disaster prior to him going to MLS, and it is him who's been peddling this Sneijder nonsense for the last few months despite every indication that he isn't coming.

Hard to tell, most are speculative. The Sun got it right with photos of Hargreaves escorted by United's security man. Many times The Sun got it wrong too.

Even if every word he said was true in that article, all that would be confirmed is that we wanted Sanchez and we were prepared to pay a lot for him. After that it says he "understands" that we're in for Modric and Sneijder. In other words he wasnt told that he just thinks that way

Wenger, however, said of his compatriot: "We will do everything to keep Nasri at the club. My wish is that he stays here.

"If he looks back he can see that he's come quite a long way with us, and I think there is still a bit to do. It's the club that makes the player's career."

Old quotes!

Wenger needs to start talking about cows if he wants Nasri to stay

Nasri: "Money has never been my motivation. I have always taken decisions from a football point of view.We already earn huge wages. The priority is to make a big career and to win titles."

Are these new quotes?

Nasri: "I came to England to get trophies because I haven't won anything in my (Arsenal) career. We all need to get out of our comfort zone, to grow up and test ourselves.I am hungry for titles. I play football because I love this sport and want to feel the emotion of winning. Lifting a trophy all together, this is the beauty and sense of team sports."

No idea, but he's more likely to get what he (claims) to want at United than Shitty...

 Well said that man.

If you want to win trophies, there's only one club in England who can guarantee them: Manchester United. Frankly I'm surprised that more players haven't clocked on to this notion yet.

That would certainly rule, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal out. Arsenal can fancy their chances for Gibson though. His main priority is to play regularly.

Bob Cass was only the same guy who ran that Tevez is begging Fergie to come back to United, I'm not sure if he's a reliable journo. Although some has said that he is one of the journalist who Fergie trusts, so maybe it's just MindGames by him.

It is football365 so take that into consideration, but here is a full article posted today with those quotes...

Nasri: I want to win things | News

Reports continue to suggest that the France international is edging towards the exit door at Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City and Manchester United are said to be leading the chase for the talented midfielder, who has spent the last three seasons in north London.

During that time, Nasri has failed to get his hands on a winners' medal, with Arsenal having gone six years since they last lifted a trophy.

The 24-year-old claims it is that lack of success which is forcing him to consider his options.

He is adamant that money will play no part in any decision he takes this summer, with it his sole aim to turn out for a club that are capable of competing for top honours.

Nasri told the News of the World: "Money has never been my motivation. I have always taken decisions from a football point of view.

"I don't want to sign for a club where I wouldn't be playing the football that I like, where I wouldn't feel happy, just for the sake of money.

"We already earn huge wages. The priority is to make a big career and to win titles.

"This is more important than everything else. I know the value and the meaning of money.

"You have to be able to evolve with a new way of living, keeping respect to my values. Family, friends, a good agent, it all helps you not to get carried away.

"With no titles under your belt, you can't be in the list for the Ballon D'Or. I came to England to get trophies because I haven't won anything in my career, apart from an U17 European Championship in 2004.

"We all need to get out of our comfort zone, to grow up and test ourselves.

"Even without winning trophies, I think I have grown up.

"I am hungry for titles. I play football because I love this sport and want to feel the emotion of winning. Lifting a trophy all together, this is the beauty and sense of team sports."

Will be interesting to see if his reported bid for Walcott from Chelsea happens.

These quotes are very encouraging, my cock is out once again.

I particularly like this quote. Hopefully that's a feck off City I'm joining United.

IMO, he's a fool to think Arsenal can't compete for the big honors. I don't think a switch to either Chelsea or United will greatly increase his title chances. How I see it it's just not a huge step up. Arsenal are always top 4 material, are always in the knock out stages of the Champions League, always do well in the Carling Cup and FA Cup.

You just have to look last seasons' match threads on this board and you'll see lots of nervous Caf members wishing Arsenal to drop points to give advantage to United. The main problem with Arsenal is they can't stay consistent during the latter stage of the season. Bad luck also follows them (last season against Liverpool, drawing Barca so early in the ko-stages, red card in CL-final).

Nasri damn well knows Arsenal can compete. Arsenal will compete, just like every other year.

compete for what? fourth place? Get real

Arsenal always compete. And normally (for the last six years, anyway) don't end up winning. Not because they're unlucky, but because of basic mistakes their manager continues to fail to correct. You can see why a player might think that at some stage he'll have to go elsewhere to win.

Nasri is at crossroads. He either signs a new deal with Arsenal (thus giving them more hand if he wants to leave in a year or two) or goes now.
