Imagine that article came true. Lose Nasri and Fabregas and gain ..... Gary Cahill.

Would Arse fans top themselves?

Dont get me wrong Cahill is a good defender and the type of player they need. But Arse wont get into the CL for many a year if this all pans out..

Which it wont, because I have stated on many occasions that Nasri simply will not join us

I think there is an increasingly good chance they will lose Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy, and they could well get Cahill - as the article says, but that won't be all their businss if they lose those 3 players. Gervinho looks a good bet for a start, but if they lose Nasri and Fabregas, they will go for another few players as well. They will look to build their central midfield around Song, Wilshire and Ramsey, with possibly a couple of experienced players added to that. Sure, it may not work out for them, but I would wait until the transfer window shuts before saying they are completely screwed.

I'm sure if Arsenal lost Nasri, Fabregas and Clichy, that even Wenger would go out and spend a huge wad of cash on a number of players.

I'd pay someone to take Clichy away, Fabregas is irreplaceable and Nasri's going nowhere.

Interesting than that John Cross is saying that Nasri is gonna ask to quit the club

Who do you reckon? Baines and Enrique are good PL performers but I'm not sure about them at the top level, though I think Enrique might train on at a better side.
Baines is worse than Clichy defensively, Enririque looks great going forward but I don't really know if he can defend.

Wouldn't mind Baines myself actually. Solid, and decent at set-pieces too. Enrique wouldn't be too bad either. I'm just scared of getting Cahill/Samba as centre-half replacements to be honest.

Baines is better than Clichy defensively. I know there's the often sensible argument of mid-table players being mid-table for a reason, but Baines isn't really one of them, in my view. He could make the step up.

I don't know, when I saw Enrique last season he looked solid enough. I think he did very well against us particularly.

I don't think Cahill's a bad player. Certainly better than Squillaci, Djourou and Koscielny, IMHO. Whether or not the latter two are going to train on I don't know. I presume there must be real potential there for Arsene to keep picking them.

I rate Djourou and Koscielny higher than Cahill. I've always said that good defenders look bad at Arsenal because of the way in which the team defends, not through individual mistakes. I might give you Squillaci. Might also start using the phrase 'train on' - I like it.

Baines will be too expensive for Arsenal, I can't see him going for less that 20Million.

Indeed. But there is a paucity of good left-backs out there at this moment in time. I imagine we might go for Tremoulinas as a cheaper option.

You guys will sign Enrique I guess.

Selling Clichy for 7mil and then buying Enrique for same amount is good business.
