Nasri To City - Done Deal!

Basically now just depends on whether he is a mercenary, or if he wants to play for a proper team

If he wasn't a mercenary, he wouldn't be leaving Arsenal to get more money somewhere else in the first place, no matter where he ends up. Or better yet, maybe he should still be playing for Marseille. How disloyal it was of him to leave his first club and move to England.

I love that retarded logic how everyone who chooses another club over MU is automatically a mercenary. Very RAWKish.

A Chelsea move would make sense for him. Wouldn't have to move, and would still be winning things. No doubt they could also probably match his wage demands.

LOL at people thinking Chelsea are seriously in for him as well, you lot believe anything dont ya.

In that article the only mention of Chelsea is that they are and I quote are keeping a watching brief on the situation, hardly conclusive evidence there to suggest that they're seriously interested in the player is it

It's between us, Arsenal and City.

And where is the conclusive evidence that United or City are in for Nasri?

I'm yet to see a single quote from anyone at either club. All the "evidence" so far comes from tabloid speculation.

Nasri set to quit Arsenal on Monday

Nasri set to quit Arsenal on Monday

Published 00:10 02/07/11 By John Cross

Samir Nasri is flying to London for crisis talks on his Arsenal future - and is ready to quit the club.

Nasri will return to the capital this weekend from a holiday in Las Vegas and is due to meet Arsene Wenger on Monday.

The midfielder will make it clear he will not sign a new £90,000-a-week contract without also receiving some guarantees.

France star Nasri fancies a move to Manchester United after becoming frustrated by Arsenal's failure to challenge for the Premier League title.

Wenger will have a tough job to persuade Nasri to stay, what with Cesc Fabregas set to join Barcelona and Gael Clichy heading to Manchester City -who also want Nasri.

The 24-year-old wanted assurances that Arsenal will challenge for the title next season and sign top-class replacements, but has been left devastated by Fabregas and Clichy leaving the Emirates this summer.

It leaves Arsenal facing a major dilemma as to whether to sell now and cut their losses or risk allowing Nasri to go into the final year of his contract and perhaps lose the £20m-rated star for nothing next summer.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes they are in pole position to land Nasri and the player is believed to favour Old Trafford ahead of Eastlands. AC Milan are also watching developments.

Arsenal are still hopeful of persuading Nasri to sign a new deal, but United will make a formal bid as soon as they are told he has informed Wenger he wants out - and that could happen after their talks on Monday.

Wenger is confident that his reinforcements will ensure Arsenal can be major title contenders next season with Lille striker Gervinho set to be the first major signing - as reported by the Mirror in May.

Arsenal are also in for Bolton's England defender Gary Cahill, Valencia's Spanish prospect Juan Mata and Argentine midfielder Ricky Alvarez, but must replace established stars such as Fabregas and Clichy.

Barcelona want to pay just £8.5m for Fabregas

Everyone would've believed the Mirror(and all the newspapers story) if it would've been regarding our player going away and asking for a move just like in Vidic's case, where some posters were even quick to criticize him.

Surely nobody pays much attention to the Mirror? Unless someone really in the know such as Ferguson, Wenger or Nasri himself comes out and says that we have made a big for him, then it is pure speculation and rumour.

"everyone" is a ridiculous thing to say. I for one don't believe a single thing that paper writes unless I have heard it from a credible source first.

Nasri's a quality player but I can't see arsenal selling him to us and I'm not side where he'd fit into our team. We play the 433 only against the better teams.

I meant the majority, everyone is a hyperbole.

That's where every single transfer story originates, including all the true ones. United don't come out and say 'oh yes we've stuck a bid in for him.' You should know this by now.

Every transfer story including the all the ones that happen, come from 'tabloid speculation.'

Yes there are a large percentage of BS ones in there, but the notion that it isn't true simply because United haven't said they want him is ridiculous. It may be true, it may not be true, if it turns out not to be true it certainly isn't due to the fact that United haven't provided a quote, and basing your transfer stories on waiting for quotes is pretty pointless, you may as well just wait until we sign them and not get involved in any transfer discussion ever before someone signs if you want the club to provide you with your transfer gossip because they won't do that until the dotted line is signed. Until that moment, it's journalists that bring you the story.

This has Rooney-style-disgraceful-ploy-for-a-new-contract written all over it...

Just apart from:

1) Nasri plays for a team not winning trophies - Rooney was at a club where trophies almost are guaranteed

2) Nasri plays for a manager who operates on a tight transfer budget - Rooney plays for a manager who has shown time and time again that he will spend money if he thinks it's required.

3) Nasri plays for a team where one of the teams 2 other big stars is likely to leave - Rooney plays for a team where no other stars were on their way out of the club at the time

I have seen many people suggest this.

I don't recall Rooney's representatives ever meeting with other clubs.

Other than the usual pish about Man City being the only one that could have afforded him, there was just the fact that Rooney threw a tantrum.

It was a growing up moment for him.

I think there is more to this Nasri thing and I think he may well already have a preferred destination club sorted out.

Read that this morning, Wenger must be banging his head against a brick wall at the moment.

Nasri apparantly wanting out
Clichy apparantly close to being sold
Fabregas looking likely to leave
Van Persie saying that if the above 3 leave, he leaves as well
Then to top it off Diaby saying he likes to wear a Spurs shirt when he's at home.

not suprising at all tbh. Who would like to stay if those leaves? Considering how Arsene usually deals with transfers..

Rooney wanted assurances from the club and as we can see he was well convinced by what the Glazers told him.. We have already spent 50Million and are likely to bring in atleast 1 more player.. I know he was watching out for himself.. But in turn he actually ensured the Glazers that he wasn't going to stick around if we do not invest in the market and better the quality of the the team/squad..

I know I will be lambasted for this post.. But this is my opinion.. Was it about the money? Yes. But was it only about the money? No fecking chance.. It was also about the clubs ability to invest in Quality players..

What?

“It’s more difficult to wear in the street. There you are not safe,” Diaby said. There are no photographs of the Arsenal midfielder wearing the shirt of his club’s biggest rival but this certainly raises questions about the player’s loyalty at a time where it seems like half of the Arsenal squad is being linked with a move away from the team.

To make matters even worse the French international has refused to rule out a move to our local arch-enemies Spurs saying he would one day like to play alongside his mate Kaboul.

“It would be good to play for the same club one day,” Diaby said.

He has a Spurs shirt with Kaboul on the back that he likes to wear at home.

Really would be no great loss. What a disappoiting signing he has turned out to be.

Cash in now on him.

But these stories keep coming out about all their players. They cannot be all true.

Or we could be looking at a brand new Arse side next season

I remember a thread on here saying something like he was a shoe in to win player of the year nexty season because he had that great first 6 months at Arsenal. That didn't turn out so well.

the biggest blow is surely Bendter leaving.

BSITW.

Looks like Arsenal are once again, going to have to re-build again. Wenger is brilliant at doing it, but he is terrible at keeping good squads together. Same old

Oh come on. No quotes, not even an attempt at fabricating a 'source', most of the article isn't even about Van Persie AND it's the Daily-feckin-star, of all 'newspapers'. People will still believe it though, because it is about United.

Sky Sports News are carrying it as well. Saw it this morning. It's not that much of a stretch to believe though that if Arsenal sell 3 of their star players that VP will want to leave as well.

I don't think it will happen, but it's not that much of a stretch of imagination that if your manager sells all your best players and you've won 1 medal in 7 years that you might want to look at going some place else.
