Nasri To City - Done Deal!

In all seriousness, Nasri would be a very good signing for us but if we missed out, its an opportunity for other players.

We can't arrogantly dismiss City as a small club that players would only go to for the money anymore. They are in the Champion's League just like we are, and are possibly as likely as we are to win the league as we are with all our squad upheaval.

While they will offer money and a "project" to develop the club, clearly we are more established as a European force and an Historically great club. Plus we can can hope that Evra will work some magic on him.
We also have a reputation for playing attacking football, where as at City they play a more defensive game.

Who knows where he'll end up, but both are legitimate choices for him.
We pretty much can, all the evidence supports this. Most of their signings have been below world-class players for massively inflated fees and wages.

As likely to win the league as us? I don't see that at all.

So we've been linked with him for ages, then Sky pull a link with City out of their arses and now claim that we're reacting to City's interest? Bloody hell I knew SSN was shit but that's taking the piss.

David Gill's finger was hovering over the 'Bid' button and as he saw the SSN ticker he knew he had to act fast. He thrust his meaty finger towards the button and slumped back in his chair, utterly spent. Then he realised pressing 'Bid' wasn't enough and he had to enter the actual amount. So he did. But this time there was no victory slump. He'd made a twat of himself. This was Varane all over again. And those cnuts on Twitter wouldn't let him forget that. So he did the only thing a man in his position can do - he had one of his people track down the people who'd made dirty comments about his clearly underage daughter on the internet and had them beaten with lump hammers.

Sometimes making it through the day is victory enough.

It isn't mere arrogance - often, even the money City offer isn't enough. And players have little interest in their 'project'; ironically, because City don't have the prestige or the history to suggest that the project will last longer than the boredom-threshold of their owners.

For any non-uk muppet like me, I can send you a stream of SSN

I personally think the club have a lot of explaining to do to why absolutely no activity in terms of either buying or selling players has gone on since the end of the season.

I understand the concept of a long-term strategy, and the one we possess, but the problem is that you need to retain your best players during the transitional period. It doesn't appear as if we're doing that. That said, they might both stay yet, you never know.

The window doesn't open untill tomorrow though. Gervinho looks like he is theirs along with the winger from the Argentine club. Thats two transfers right there already. What more do you want them to do?! I'm sure they are actively looking.

Those are the past signings though, before they got the CL place. And when was the last time we signed world class players?

We'll have to see what they do in the market before we decide if they are as likely as us to win the league

City can offer better wages and they allow players to wear snoods. No chance we'll get Nasri if they are interested.

They finished 10 points behind us and won the FA Cup. As opposed to previous seasons they are getting closer and closer every season to us. While they've wasted a lot of money and should've achieved more with their expenditure, the improvement is definitely there.

To dismiss them will be foolish. Luckily Fergie will be on his guard unlike a lot of our fanbase.

Well, you can tie up deals before this point - you've done 3 already!

The Alvarez deal is really a rumour and nothing more, and Gervinho isn't exactly one to excite me too greatly. We chose the wrong player from Lille really.

They have a significant interest in Nasri and are close to signing Clichy, so in short nothing news

Sky Sports obviously screwed up, the ticker now states "close to signing CLICHY" and then "interested in signing Nasri"...

So they obviously got them mixed up at first the Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime!

Most of their signings were before they qualified for the Champion's League!
Nasri, while being very good is not world class yet. Their squad is settled from last year while ours is being rebuilt, if they continue to develop they will challenge for the league this year. Don't let bias blind you.

I expect a challenge from them this year, as long as they keep hold of Tevez.
They are a legitimate choice for a player like Nasri.

The same feeling you get when you hear Real Madrid or interested in the same player we are is the same you should feel when you hear City are interested in the same player as us. Especially an English base player. Only double the wages will seal a City deal over ours.

From an Arsenal perspective, I'd consider selling Nasri to City as more damaging from a 'competitor' viewpoint than I would United, and thats not meant in an arrogant manner at all.

Stop spelling Champions League wrong. I bet you £20 we finish more than 5 points ahead of them.

I cant understand why some of you morons think this is an impossible transfer.

If we do want him, then we can easily match the bid (if any) by City. down to the players choice then. SSN ticker changes every 10 minutes though, gone from "close to a deal" to just "interested".

I believe shitty are interested yes, and I believe it has to do with our interest and the fact that Le Arse are willing to sell and news that he wants to leave.

That is a whole lot of speculation for one sentence.

I wish I could share your optimism. He's gonna join City, because Arsenal sees United as their rivals, the stupid cnuts.

Nar, Arsenal aren't so stupid, they know that City are also a rival.

I also believe this has come about because he wants to join us.

Mark my words, I'll be bumping this soon enough.

Like City's interest made us nail Berbatov, like Newcastle's interest made us nail Rooney, like Liverpool's interest made us nail Jones. There's a pattern here!

Fair enough if this was an ordinary deal, but this player has 1 year left on his deal, and if he really wants to go to us, then he can sit out for the year and Gunners lose out on 20+mill. Not sure on Nasri's thoughts obviously, I'm just throwing it out there.
