That's because I rate Modric higher. I already stated my post probably wasn't worded properly. Saying it was a retarded statement is a bit ironic considering the absolute dross that you post.

411 posts in and you're an expert on my posts, great work kid. Do you just read my posts all day then?

You admitted yourself that the post was worded crap, and because everyone slated you, you tried to save face, happens to all of us, get over it or stick to your guns next time. You can't be pissed with me for calling it a "wee bit" retarded when you as much as admit that yourself.

Can't beat the caf. I'm a lurker more than a poster. Only here can you find egotistical twats who think having time to post all day on the internet means your opinion matters more! Well done, little girl.

No, it was worded wrongly. Not crap. Fairly simple mistake to make. Of course I'm going to defend myself if my opinion is misinterpreted, regardless of whether it's my fault. Now run along like a good lass.

Am I the only one who thinks he might struggle in a 2-man midfield? I don't recall him ever playing there, he doesn't seem to do much defending work. I agree that he's a fantastic footballer but I don't see where we would use him seeing as we have played with two central midfielders most of the time.

I don't think it will happen anyway, probably just his agent trying to get a new deal or to alert foreign clubs of his intentions.

i really think hed be used on the left in a 442, or if we switch to 433 he obviously be the attacking midfield.

What are you on about? My opinion doesn't matter more, not at all! I asked how you were such an expert on my posts that's all..... weird.

Which bit was worded wrongly? The bit about it being RAWK like to compare Nasri to Modric? or the bit about "Their on a different level"....

crap post, get over it, you haven't saved any face here by pulling out the "I only really meant Sneijder card", we know exactly what you meant.

Left sided playmaker makes sense but I think I would prefer a natural central midfielder, although there isn't many of them available at the moment.

If you say so, I suppose you would know what I'm thinking more than I would... :wenger:

Can't see this happening, unfortunately. It's still good to piss of the gooners, though. Must annoy them that he openly wants to come here.

Did you not watch him deputising in Fabregas' position? I thought his best football was in that role.

I don't get that at all, you included both players in both sentences but fair enough

Can't see it either tbh, I think his agent just wants a better deal for him. Personally I'd love it to be true though, he's a cracking players and whilst strengthening us it would also weaken a rival.

Depends on what position you mean. Fabregas played most of his football in the hole last season, where Nasri is also very effective. Nasri isn't really a CM .

I think he has played in that position plenty of times for Arsenal. Some say it's his best position.

The Scholes role? No he didn't I don't think.

Nasri played either on the left or behind the striker when Fabregas was injured. He isn't a central midfielder at all and certainly not a midfielder like Modric or Scholes. Which is why I think the comparison is weird.

If the Nasri rumors are true and I have my doubts I have a feeling it will spell the end of our interest in Young.

Anderson sees himself as a left back, doesn't mean hed make a good one.

Nasris game is perfectly suited to the role hes given at Arsenal, freedom to roam off the front and cutting in from wide.

Just because you don't see him as a CM doesn't make him a bad one;)

He has all the attributes to play there and the fact that he seems to play better when Fabregas isn't in the side shows how he likes to play. Yes he plays advanced at the minute doesn't mean he can't do the same thing from a deeper position. A 433 formation with i.e. Fletcher and Carrick would suit him fine too.

Your right it doesn't, but naturally seeing as hes never played it for either club or country im very sceptical of all the talk of him being a worthy paul scholes successor.

As for him suiting the 4-3-3, well i dont have any arguments with that at all, thats exactly how i see it, Nasris ideal role is when hes given the freedom off the front, in a 3 man midfield thats fine perfect for him in fact he was fantastic in that role for France when they played England a few months ago.

But thats not what im arguing and hasn't been all day, and it doesn't solve the conundrum of replacing Scholes, seeing as we're about to sign another winger and the emergence of a strike partnership the manager obviously rates very highly then its important we get someone whos not just comfortable but who excels in the middle of the pitch in a 2 without needing to be babysat by anyone because he hasn't the natural instincts to do the job a position like CM requires, it seems to be ignored that you have to have a little more than a good technique to be an effective central midfield player.

I love how everyone keep recycling the "he can't play in a 4-4-2" argument. Wasn't that shown to be impossible to predict when Modric stepped into central midfield and did it brilliantly?

Yes, mentioned this the other day. We'd have certainly said the same thing about Giggs a few years back.

Yep. He adapted and picked it up well.

The big question, which I don't feel has been covered, is: can he play central midfield in a 442?

this guy doesn't have the mentality to play for Manchester United anyway. goes missing in big games , time and time again
