 This could be hilarious.

All our inner Kermits are being well fed at the moment.

Mind you I'd wank endlessly should this happen because he is a fantastic little player but at this point I am skeptical. He has the ability to produce something a bit different in the final third which I think we lack at times.

Adzz... anything on KEY 103 about this rumour? I suspect Justin Moorehouse might have some insider knowledge.

As of yet Spoony no solid information but Justin was on earlier and his husky voice led me to believe he was excited/aroused at something.

wait for wenger to come out though and rubbish the story :(

Actually how does Arsenal manage to get in these situations where they risk losing their best players by not acting quick enough on contract renewals?

Years ago they lost Flamini and it sent them years back in their development. Bad squad management by Wenger really.

That's bit overhyped. Flamini's contract was allowed to run down because he wasn't delivering then he had his one amazing season.

I still think its all Nasri's agent.
Final push to get the money he wants.

It's odd how this seems to be gathering momuntum.

I'd love for it to be true but I still think he's just using us to get a huge contract at Arsenal.

To be fair there wasn't much we could have done. Flamini didn't show much sign of improving before his one brilliant season, and when we did come in with a contract offer he decided to feck off. Always thought we should have played with Diarra instead of Flamini that season, hindsight is a wonderful tool though.

I am not one for shooting down every potential transfer we are linked with, but I think this one is a complete load of shite. I will believe it when I see it.

This is gonna one exciting summer, feel it in my bones!!!

Yup. Probably agent trying to stir up some shit to try and get the contract he wants.

Yep, that's my gut feel on this one too. Bit too unlikely.

And even if he does decide to leave I actually do think Arsenal would rather let him run down his contract and let him go elsewhere on a free than sell him to us.

We should offer 30 million if we have it. That way Wenger will probably be forced to sell, and we get a class AM that we crave for.

But if he's interested in joining us he'd be joining us on a free next year anyway. There's nothing stopping other clubs from bidding this year.

Where does this leave Young? Seems strange.

Something doesn't add up at the moment.

Never fear though, I'm on it lads - rest assured I'm on it.

Er, no thanks. I'd rather we spunk that kind of money elsewhere. If we have it, of course.

The whole premise of us going after Nasri is the fact that we could get him for a significantly lower amount than his actual value. But if we have to pay the same amount which we would otherwise, whats the point? Because firstly signing an AM is not exactly priority right now, what with Young's impending arrival as well. Never mind the fact that Nasri goes missing for long periods in a season as well. He's a very good player and young, plenty of room for improvement but I'd only go for him if the amount made some sense. 30 million is just too much for even him in his last year of contract.

Yes, if us and several other clubs bid I think they would reject ours and accept similar or even lesser bids from abroad.

And it would be a gamble for them that he could come to us on a free next year, but I think they may take that risk and hope he goes elsewhere. Wenger has proven to be a very stubborn man. If he doesn't want to sell Nasri to us, he won't, unless we offer something very silly. Imagine the fans backlash.

Good point, if we get encouragement that Nasri is willing to join us and we agree a deal with Arsenal does this mean we will then pull out of the Young deal?

why would we pull out of the young deal? We lost Scholes,Hargreaves, Gibson (maybe) in midfield. We're just rebuilding the squad/first team.
