Nasri To City - Done Deal!

Can't the vast majority of CM's play in a 4-4-2? A successful 4-4-2 is about correct partnerships, not individuals, is it not? Unless I'm missing something obvious, any one individual of high enough standard should be able to competently operate in a two man midfield providing his partner complements his playing style; one covers the others' weaknesses and vice versa. If you lot were to be believed then 99% of the central midfield players out there simply cannot play without two of their mates holding their hands; has football really changed that much that given a role in a 4-4-2 formation and a suitable partner, so many of the world's midfield players would just capitulate and flop under the strain of it?

You're all wrong, midfielders can only play in a 4-4-2 in they played in that formation before, preferably in the Premier League - or if Allforone says so.

 Yes because that's completely relevant isn't it?

It's not like you're arguing against those of us who want to sign him is it.

Basically, you have no evidence. End of.

 What? this whole debate started when i simply asked on what basis you belive Nasri can fullfill a role hes never played in at either club or international level, all ive had back from you is "well i think he can so there" which is marvellous in its own right im sure you do, but thats not exactly gospel in my book im afriad, a few matches hes played in that position and excelled would be nice, got any? ;)

I remember when you used to be a sensible man. Now look at you, you utter disgrace!

In all seriousness, I've always felt that the transfer forums are redundant during the season (except in and around the winter window), but during the summer when there's no football and when squad strengthening is supposed to happen, this section of the forum becomes massively relevant.

I'm only lurking around like a rapist until we sign the fabled central midfielder, then I'll be gone from the transfer forum, never to be seen again (until the next window!).

Sigh.

If you really believe that's all I've said then fine, I'm not posting the whole thing to you again. I asked you questions and pointed out things about our 4-4-2, you ignored pretty much all of that and just kept introducing new aspects in order to try manipulate the situation further.

I mean the irony of you saying he can't fulfill the role because 'he just hasn't played it before' is ridiculous.

Does that mean Fabregas, Essien, Meireles, Sneijder, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Oezil, Khedeira, Schweinstiger all can't play there too?

Schweinsteiger, Essien and Fabregas all played in a 4-4-2 before, to be fair.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but SSN had a camera down at the Arsenal store. They asked fans queueing up of they were getting Nasri or Fabregas on the back of their shirts and 1 of them proper spat his dummy out. It was hilarious.

"Fabregas should have gone last Summer" and "If Nasri won't sign a contract then he can go to Man Yoo!" Doing the stereotypical cockney head bob. It was hilarious.

It's too quiet. More unrestrained muppetry please.

I'm hearing reports that Samir Nasri's representatives has indeed agreed a deal enabling him to join #mufc. I cannot confirm this though.

I really think there is as much chance of Nasri joining United as there is of Chicharito joining Arsenal.

I doubt that.

Hernandez has a long term contract and wants to stay here, Nasri is coming to the end of his and looks reluctant to sign on at Arsenal, and admitted he would consider coming to us.

Reminds me of the rumours that Patrick Vieira wanted to come to United and his agents were talking to us about it, but Arsenal wouldn't agree a fee.

and we win trophies...we're a bigger club then Arsenal with all due respect to them. Fantastic club.

Samir Nasri is on the brink of a shock switch to Manchester United after finding himself unsettled by Arsenal's inability to compete for top European silverware, according to a Premier League agent.

Through messages released via his social networking profile on Twitter, agent Peter Morrison insisted that whilst he could not absolutely confirm that a deal has been struck already, the potential shock switch is in the process of being agreed.

"I'm hearing reports that Samir Nasri's representatives has indeed agreed a deal enabling him to join #mufc," Morrison revealed via Twitter earlier today.

Nasri has been linked for some time with a possible move away from north London and Manchester United are said to be his most desired destination, after the French midfielder witnessed Sir Alex Ferguson's men lift a record 19th Premier League title this season.

A number of sources believe that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring some creativity to the club and is keen to add either Nasri, Tottenham star Luka Modric or Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder.

Following the retirement of Paul Scholes, Ferguson knows that he needs to make some major acquisitions in the summer and Nasri could be a very real possibility.

The French international has refused to speak to Arsenal about a new contract and has told the club that he wants new players to arrive in the summer. Nasri also revealed to French televsision station TF1 that he would consider his future if their was interest from United.

“Do I want to go to United? We should see if their interest is real and if it is concrete first."

Ferdinand has also admitted that he is an admirer of the 23-year-old. "Samir Nasri is an excellent player who has a good technique and a huge amount of talent and he scores goals.

"For me, he is one of the best players right now. I think he even won the title of best French football player at international level. The French have a history of good players here. Thierry Henry has been fantastic. Just like Cantona. And let's not forget Marcel Desailly."

Should United attempt to land Nasri then it would take a substantial bid for Arsenal to sell to one of their closest rivals. However, Ferguson has revealed that he has funds to try and bring a number of players to the club.

"I'm looking at possibly a couple, maybe three signings, which would boost our overall quality in the team," Ferguson revealed to Inside United. "Of course, the way we're looking at it is we have Ryan Giggs coming towards the end of his career and Gary Neville's already retired.

"Edwin van der Sar announced his retirement and there are holes we want to plug in terms of the safety and security of the team in the next few years."

Arsenal Star Player on Brink of Shock Man United Move According to Agent

I know but according to that the agents update was today, then they just filled the article with old quotes.

He, amusing article. They've compiled a random quote from twitter, an old quote and a load of other bollocks to come up with some half-arsed fabrication.

Still cock out time, mind.

There could be a chance they rather lose him for free and wait for other teams to snap him next season. I'm sure the Barcas and Reals would come calling

If him not signing a new contract is true, Arsenal need to decide how much they're prepared to lose for having a player for a year.

They can't possibly reject £15m, if they did, they'd effectively be paying £15m themselves to keep him for 12months for him to leave on a free.

I'm sure they wouldn't turn down an offer around 16-18m just to let him go to Barca or Madrid for free.

Skysports.com understands Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.

Speculation has intimated Nasri is on United's radar and skysports.com has now learnt he is the club's top target.

The talented French schemer's reluctance to engage in contract talks with Arsenal until he is satisfied their transfer targets are of the required standard to mount a title push next season has alerted Sir Alex Ferguson to his possible availability.

Despite being close to wrapping up a deal for Blackburn defender Phil Jones and Atletico Madridgoalkeeper David de Gea, amid widespread speculation Aston Villa's Ashley Young is also heading for Old Trafford, Ferguson's appetite for new signings has yet to be sated.

Nasri is seen as an ideal replacement for the retired Paul Scholes, with the centre of the field an area United's management are keen to revamp with fresh talent.

Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder has been linked but Nasri, with just a season left on his existing deal, could be a more realistic deal to finance.

Arsene Wenger would be loath to lose one of key men, especially given Nasri's exit would likely lead to other members of his squad questioning their own futures.

However, United are now ready to test Arsenal's resolve to keep a player who has previously intimated he would be open to the prospect of moving to Manchester.
