Nani will reignite our charge to the title

against Wolves this season (worst I've seen him play )

If that's the case, then he must be pretty darn awesome considering he was among the best players on the pitch in that game - he was even voted the third best player in the MOTM thread after the game.

I've read the BBC, Sun, Times, Guardian, Mirror and Telegraph's match reports and the best Nani gets is credit for the cross for Rooney's 3rd. They all say the same thing - Rooney was mint, Hull were poor (apart from one which strangely focussed on Owen). Did any of these gimps even watch the full 90 minutes?

Means feck all to me. All that counts is how Fergie and the boys thought about it and let him know, and he's said they were all very congratulatory towards him.

I wouldnt pay to much attention to any of the newspaper ratings really ive given up hope of seeing a well rated match by a journalist....they dont seem to bother rating based on the actual games rather more based on the individuals and their pre match conceived opinions on how its going to go, its as if the match reports have already been written in anticipation and edited here or there afterwards to save time.

The Burnley game we won last week was a prime example, most on here agreed Nani was certainly one of if not our best player on the day while Rooney whod up to the point he scored had a bit of a stinker in truth and even with the goal his overal display wasnt anywhere near as good as Nanis and well below his best, yet next day the usual "Rooney saves the day for Utd" "Rooney carrys United to victory" stuff was splashed all over the papers and the performances from the likes of Nani were totaly forgotten, barely got a mention and were given ratings of 5 or 6.....a joke really.

Players like Nani dont and never will get the praise their performances deserve in the English press and players like Rooney even on off days can largely do no wrong where the medias concerned.

The Guardian's first draft mentioned "the excellent Nani". Lost in expansion.

The thing I've never really understood is how he can be so good at playing through balls, disguised passes, even chipped passes, yet he struggles with the simple ball.

I know there's a difference between the two, but you think they'd be interlinked to some extent.

I still never know what side I'm on - one day I think he's got so much ability he can't not make it at this club, the next I'm thinking for some reason everything's just not clicking for him and it might be best for everyone to part ways.

Nani was great today. Think we better keep him on the right wing.

On Friday Nike's Twitter page said they were interviewing Nani so I asked would he prefer to play on the right he responded

Nani response: “For me the most important thing is to play. On the left side, I can cut inside and shoot with my right foot"

He should be able to perform on either

That was Nani's selfish answer, hmmm cut in and shoot, sounds like a former Portuguese at United, albeit not as two footed because that player could have played upside down and sideways and still got good efforts on goal. As for Nani, he is better on the right I think, that says he is still very good on the left wh3n he plays well like today

Tosic is useless because he hasnt played a game, on the team for a year....

I think the main thing to do is to get our wingers swapping wings often like we used to have. That would add a bit more variety to Valencia's play and also allow for Nani to pop up on the right and get some real quality into the box.

Agreed!!!

Just wish they were both capable of playing uptop so them and Rooney could constantly swap positions....

I think having Owen in the team helped Nani immensely. It meant he always had someone to aim at in the box. It's something that the other two don't always give you. Owen is always in the right positions. That must be great for a winger.

Nani played left wing when he put in that class performance against arsenal in the cup, right ?

You got any other football related Twitter-pages to recommend CLK?

a) Hargreaves.

c) Obertan does the Ronaldo chop better, while Giggs can beat his man AND get the ball past the first defender, so no.

Hope Nani build on these good performances.
Neither Giggs or Vanlencia can go all the way. So with Nani we do have more options from now on. That's good for the team, they compliment each other, no need to decide whether Vanlencia is better or the other way round.

Ahuh! I missed the game, will hopefully d/l it tonight! But from what i'm watching (first 2mins) he was planting a crap load of crosses into dangerous areas. Tracking back too!

Hopefully he plays against City, but i wouldn't bet on it as Giggs will be more likely on the left and Valencia caused them all sorts of trouble first leg.

Nani on the left with the confidence of his recent performances with Valencia on the right could lead to some great wingplay.

He is:

a) Our best dead-ball specialist (corners and free-kicks)

b) Our best long-range shot specialist.

c) Our most tricky winger.

All the above attributes help teams to win tight games. Hopefully he apologises to SAF, buries the hatchet with SAF and gets a run of a few games. We will all be suprised how well he can do.

Come on Nani.

well done

I will admit I laughed when I saw this thread at 1st a few weeks ago. Although I have not posted much about Nani I have pretty much always been negative about him.

Im sorry
