One direct assist. Played a vital part in two of our other goals. Created two other brilliant chances that should've been put away. Created five or six other 50/50 chances. Hit the post with a good freekick. Should've won a penalty. Tracked back and gave Rafael a massive amount of help, including pointing to where Rafael should be positioning himself (except for just the one time where he did leave Rafael quite badly exposed).

Yep, I'd say he had a fairly good game.

Fergie said:
“I thought Nani was excellent today,” he said. “In the second half he hit some fantastic crosses into the box. On another day he might have made four or five goals. So we were very pleased with that.

Good to see him getting the credit that his performance deserved. Not just Fergie, the commentators had a lot of praise for him too. No doubt Macari would cite one missed pass or something.

I've read the BBC, Sun, Times, Guardian, Mirror and Telegraph's match reports and the best Nani gets is credit for the cross for Rooney's 3rd. They all say the same thing - Rooney was mint, Hull were poor (apart from one which strangely focussed on Owen). Did any of these gimps even watch the full 90 minutes?

No surprise, they are bigging Rooney up to shoot him down in the summer.

Apart from Fergie, only thing I've seen about Nani is from Sportinglife, who said it was possibly his best performance in the 3 years since his move from Sporting.

He did well today. All he has to do is put in some dangerous crosses, don't bother with the tricks or trying to take his man on, just cross the ball into the right areas for the strikers and hes doing his job. I think hes been overcomplicating things and trying to do to much, if he just keeps it simple he does much better.

Excellent today. Very encouraging. Hopefully he can replicate the form he showed today on the left wing.

Gotta say, Nani was world class today. Good to see him do what we know he's capable of, let's hope he gets a run in the side now !

If United are going forward with what they have for the rest of the season, he WILL be extremely important. I wish he would have scored on that free kick today, it would have been fitting. He really has all the tools to do it all, I hope he goes forward well from this game, and although I realize he will probably have a stinker next game I hope he doesnt. He is the one player in the team that can replicate, albeit to a lesser degree the old Ron. I think having he and Valencia on the wings with 2 strikers up front is the best option atm,as Nani delivers everything that Valencia destn especially set pieces which he is excellent at. I do think he can make it at Unite,d obviously SAF does too or he would have sold him this month. Today was very promising from him, and we have seen a lot of it from him, he needs to solidify a spot because if he can I think we will see his best, and at his best he is one of Uniteds most dangerous attackers, at his worst he is still decent albeit miserably frustrating as all talented players are when they dont perform. He isnt ROnaldo but no one is, however I think he can fill some of the hoel that was left by his absence along with the other attackers. Rooney is scoring for fun, but is great to have another goal threat from midfield too. Im not shocked he is playing well because he always had it in him, as I said prior hopefully he keeps it up, because he is a very useful player to have when he plays well

Only problem is that he hasnt been consistant - but you're right he deserves a run in the team if only for his freekick that hit the bar! Hopefully he plays on the right opposed to the left in his next few outings

Agreed
He is a fantastic player, unless complicate with the ball, reminds me on Ronaldo's first two seasons:rolleyes:

great game today nani - lets hope you can produce that kind of form until the end of the season

crossing and decision making was excellent

no one ever doubted his talent - and today he showed us what he is capable of - however question marks remain about whether he s capable of playing like this every week

was fecking immense today. I pointed out to my mate who sits next to me all the things he does better than Valencia. Mainly taking on his man down the line and getting a ball in.

Saying that I will be able to point out all the things Valencia does that Nani fails to do when he next plays.

Mixing them both would be quality

Have we had Nani and Valencia play together yet? Park was shite for me today

Also, like pig did earlier on, nani today gave his best performance at a time when everyone taught he ll soon be gone..

The only thing that needs to improve is his decision-making (which was brilliant today but has let him down on quite a few occassions in the past). If he does so on a regular basis we'll see him put in a lot of performances like the one we've seen today. Fantastic stuff, absolutely delighted for the lad.

Perhaps playing on the right makes his decision making easier. It's easier to whip a cross in when it's the natural thing to go on your right foot and head for the line. On the left, you're supposed to keep width and go for the line but it's harder to put a cross in and you're more inclined to cut inside which can slow the play down being less direct.

Alright, I'll play devil's advocate. Even though I'm actually glad he played well for a change.

Rein yourselves in you spastics. He was very good, but it was against fecking Hull. He's often good against shit teams, as has been shown by his "productive" outings against Malta, Derby County, Middlesbrough, Southampton, et cetera. There's a big difference between beating up on the smaller kids and hacking it with the big boys. Nani has yet to show he can do the latter, and this performance does nothing to change that. If he plays against City, he's just as likely to embarrass himself as he is to be effective.

He looked confident, hungry and mature in his play. It was a World Class performance that we hope can be repeated on a more regular basis. When he plays to his full potential he is a threat and an outlet. In that form he is an assist machine and if only his team mates had been more clinical with the chances he created for them. I've never doubted his ability and its always nice when he repays our faith in that manner.

Magnificent game and lets hope he can build on it.

Yeah but against Burnley he didnt look that special

He was also beating players for fun as well, nice to see someone else doing it once in a while other than Giggs or even Rooney on occasions.

Then again, they're only 3 points behind the team in 13th(another team with a poor defence, FWIW), so if we have someone who can perform that well against 7 out of 20 teams in the league then that's quite a handy I'd have thought.

And with maturity you'd hope he'd be able to play better against better teams.

Really happy with his last couple of performances, can't really see many negatives to take out of either performances.

He played very well today. Did the basics right, which is what he needs to focus on, as well as showing a little flair.

He needs to now go on and build on today.

Nani seems to be getting some good ratings today from the media. It's looking more positive for him- that's two good league performances in succession from him now. There's no doubt that an in-form Nani solves a big issue for us in terms of the left wing position. He adds pace and some unpredictability to our play. Hopefully he can keep this form up.

Just seen the goals and Nani really was heavily involved. The cross for Rooney's third was a peach. Interesting to see that a number of the players made a point of congratulating him as well as Wazza.

so now we have two quality right wingers and no half decent left wingers...
