Even Torres said he needed to be cared etc.. after moving to Milan.

Nani's situation i see similar to him. He has declined losing a extra physical edge and confidence as a result. Maybe like Torres he will have few moments of class and few matches but overall isn't the same player anymore.

Now whatever way you can attempt to rationalize it but it's the truth. The whole he wasn't happy or wasn't given opportunity arguments seem bogus because he signed a new deal last year and got plenty of oppurtunity to play shit whenever he was fit.

Maybe he can get better with a more consistent injury free run and he still has technical attributes but don't think he reaches the heights again. Hopefully he does well in Portuguese league and we get a good fee.
 
Best game from Nani since he came back. Caused a lot of problems to the opposition defense he glided past players with great speed and trickery especially in the first half. Second half was also our best player but not as good as the first half ( like the whole team in general).

Cant help but to feel worried for Sporting with the way the season has started they have been poor to start the season with 1 win and 3 draws the performances have been poor there was some improvement this game but nothing to write home about. They are really struggling to score.
 
I said to a friend of mine that if Maribor allow Nani to shoot from the edge of the box he will score.

10 minutes later he scored.
 
Nice goal, will do him the world of good as he is such a confidence player.
 
Typical Nani goal:) Good to see him doing well even if he'll never put the red jersey on again.
 
It was not only the goal, it was the performance. Best player on the pitch, i hope he is hitting form. We desperatly need it. Always dangerous and creating.
 
Would be nice if Nani resurrected his career at Sporting.

It would be even nicer if that then meant we could get a decent fee for him.
 
Pleased for the lad. Really do think he'll flourish given a proper run of games. He was quite unfairly treated here for me - one bad game and he was out of the picture for ages whereas players like Valencia don't get dropped despite playing shite every game.

I am sure there is much more to come from Nani. Even his biggest critics have to admit Nani is extremely talented. That goal was with his 'weaker' foot.

Nope. We need to sever ties, irrespective of how he performs there and hopefully recoup a good portion of the money we spent on him.

Talent is only half the battle. Nani lost the other half quite badly.

Should have bee moved on last year or the year before really. The move will do him good.

you mean just the year after he was crucial to our winning the league or the year after which he was crucial to our attacking the first half of the season.

it is only the stupid issue with the contract in Fergie's last year, and then Moyes and injury last year which ruined him.

don't make us go over old ground again

Aye, the contract issue that one year is the reason he's never really been able to hold down his place in the side apart from a 12-18month period (during which he was excellent).

I don't mean to upset the Nani mafia but despite his abundance of talent, of which there is plenty, he isn't cut out for the United first team. Fergie thought so, I'd say Moyes probably thought so and clearly van Gaal thinks so.

He's another one with plenty of excuses. Injuries, never given a run in the team etc etc. Heard them all before. He's been moved on because he isn't up to it. That's it.
 
Lets hope he does this regularly. Either way it'd be good for us, be very surprised if he plays another game for us, but if he plays well his fee will increase. Potentially they've already agreed the sell on fee though.
 
We can only hope he does good this year, so we can sell him for a good fee next year and don't have to sell him for peanuts because nobody is willing to pay for his wages.

I don't believe anyone of them has a future here so I am really rooting for them to show their ability so they can be sold next year.
