I'm actually very disappointed at Nani's departure. When in form I think he's Utd's best winger
He hasnt been "in form" for a while now.I'm actually very disappointed at Nani's departure. When in form I think he's Utd's best winger

Not when he'd have sat here the whole season, twiddling his thumbs. If he regains his form, I'd say it works out even better for us.So we loaned him but are still paying his wages ? If true, the daftest player transaction ever.
Do you expect Sporting to pay 120,000K in wages? So we loaned him but are still paying his wages ? If true, the daftest player transaction ever.

He took absolutely the most shocking corners I've seen for us. 9/7 were hitting the first man. He had the confidence to do it in cool manner 10times a match and waste a good number of direct freekicks as well... just because of that I am quite glad he is off.
Alternatively, we could've allowed LvG a chance to revitalize him. At 27, he isn't likely to return to us, and this is going to end up little more than the first step to a permanent move to Sporting or elsewhere, which makes paying his salary galactically daft (if true). In essence, we got Rojo for however many millions and lost Nani for nothing, and on top of it, still get to pay his wages even though he's not playing for us this year.

LvG didn't see that revitalization happening when he isnt going to play much so its a fair deal IMO. This deal isn't galactically daft, the decision to give him a new contract last season was.Alternatively, we could've allowed LvG a chance to revitalize him. Presumably, that is why we bought him in the first place. In the main, it didn't go well. He is now older so irrespective of how he does this season, I don't think he can cut it over here any longer. So everybody is convinced he won't be back, and I can see that it's likely this is the case.
But say he rediscovers his best form and rips up the Portuguese league, what would be the point of letting him go then?
Yea when he is in form he is super but for some reasons it is not working her and it doesn't seem that he gonna be in form again. Let us not forget that he is 28tish or something. Good for both parties but i wish him all the best though.I'm actually very disappointed at Nani's departure. When in form I think he's Utd's best winger
It was very predictable that Young and Valencia would stay whilst Nani would leave. Nobody would pay Young's wages either, not even clueless clubs like QPR.
Should have happened at least two years ago.
Goodbye, won't even notice you're not here anymore, Nani.
It tends to happen when you start to isolate players and they become frozen out. Berbatov was the last one who went for nothing, Hernandez hardly got a kick last season and will go for a lot less than he should, and Fellaini hardly played even though he was our big signing last summer, and we wont even recoup half the fee. It's actually shocking how much of a loss we have on transfers out.Sorry to see him go, after Giggs, my favourite United player. Doesn't seem like a good deal for the club, but unfortunately we don't do good deals.
Anyone else think Nani going means Di MariaON?
Only flashes? He was probably the best player in the PL for an 18 month spell, and not bad the season after either. On the face of it this looks a very good deal for Sporting. Getting Nani effectively free for a year plus a percentage of any sell on fee for Rojo.
We have seen flashes of brilliance from Nani over the time he has been at Old Trafford. Most importantly, I will always remember that he came on for the last ten minutes of the CL final and nervelessly converted the last of our "regular" penalty kicks. Had he missed, Chelsea won. Anderson was similarly nerveless and I had very high hopes for these two.
Sadly, that promise has never really been fulfilled except in patches and Nani, like Anderson although not quite as bad, is far too often injured to make a telling contribution.
I wish him well in Portugal.
