So, they've literally spent half a billion in 6 months, and they also bought Lukaku the previous summer for another 100M, and are somehow still compliant with the rules, but suddenly we are in hot water? Why?

We are not in “hot water” with FFP

As mazhar said, we have a cash flow problem.

FFP status
No English clubs have been fined.
Chelsea, Leicester, City and West Ham have been warned
Arsenal are on their initial monitor - fine for now but would be in the warning list if they signed Mudryk for this much money.

the long contracts are a FFP work around. They probably have a "break clause" in them after 4 years or something

..Maybe Arsenal should've moved on him sooner.
You can’t criticise Arsenal for this. Same with us regarding Felix. Normal clubs can do nothing about this complete mentalist in charge at Chelsea.

I’d be gutted if I was an Arsenal fan.

They have a habit of stealing transfer targets of other clubs. Didn’t they also hijack the Willian deal from Spurs at the airport?

They are a shady club with questionable morals.
Are you referring to Chelsea or Arsenal here? There is no way we operate shady.

This signing makes more sense than Felix, they genuinely don't have anyone with pace or who can run at the defence with no Pulisic and Sterling totally off form. Probably means no Leao now but then one can never be sure

Thank God we-got-Horst early away from that fecking creep Boehly.

No idea. If someone better versed in football finances could explain that it would be great.
I’m no expert by any means but currently there’s a grace period for FFP due to Covid wherein clubs can spend up to 90% of their turnover on players expenditures, so Boehly and Co. likely just want to take advantage and stock up.

The contracts they are giving out is wild though. Can very easily go wrong like Maguire with us.

The question to ask as a Chelsea fan is how bad is FFP.

You’ll pay a fine and get a transfer ban but is that really so bad?

More concerning would be if the P/E guys want to stop spending if the results don’t match the outlay.

Chelsea lineup next season:
GK
James - Silva - Fofana
Kovacic
Sterling - Havertz - Mount - Nkunku - Mudryk - Chilwelll

Well balanced team that.

They must have spent around half a billion right? What even is FFP

Holy shit.. Thought the Arsenal deal was done.

Boehly has some major FOMO issues.

And these 7.5 yr deals are silly.. the player would only sign them if there is a annual raise .. no one is singing their prime of their career away at a low wage.. its a very risky move from Chelsea. if it doesnt work for whatever reason, they'll struggle to move players on on massive wages.. we have had those issues a lot.. and we dont even hand out stupid long contracts.

Why does Chelsea even need all these 15 attackers? It doesn’t make sense

Well with the way they've been spending and the shite they've brought in aside of Nkunku, a transfer ban would actually help them at this point

7 years contract is a bit stupid. He'll probably be on big wages as well. Nobody at Chelsea know what they're doing.

On Mudryk, the feck has he done to get this much hype??

With Antony, you can understand certain factors - ex Ten Hag player, Ajax being resilient and not wanting to be torn up, he's a left footed RW of which there are just very slim pickings out there for, he's a Brazil international with a lot of technical qualities, and is 22, and was a late window signing. Mudryk is a year younger than Antony sure, but he's a right footed left winger from Ukraine with not much experience, but had some impressive CL group games. Is that all it takes? A couple of good goals in the CL? Antony had the impressive CL campaign too, but is Mudryk doesn't have any of the other points that would raise his price so much like what happened to Antony. We'll see how good he actually is I guess, but he seems wildly overrated and I'd bet he's more likely to flop than actually do well.

No point in hiding it, im be a bit gutted at missing out on Mudryk, think the lad has the potential to be a big star in the right setup. Not sure what can be done mind you if a desperate club just continues to outbid you.

The Chelsea issue longer term is not so much FFP as it is revenue. They are owned by investors who will ultimately want to see a return, Boehly is not a sugar daddy pumping in his own money. The club consistently lost money under Roman but he didn’t care, that won’t be the case here. If, as seems quite possible, Chelsea are not in Europe next season, they will face a big shortfall in projected revenues. They won’t keep spending to get out of trouble because the tap is going to be turned off at some point and in the meantime half a billion has been spent with no clear strategy in mind. It could get very messy.

This can't possibly be true? How are they compliant with FFP? They are on their way to spend half a billion in 6 months!
I think it's from this summer the improved FFP rules are in force and we're fecked.

Chelsea are basically taking advantage of the fact clubs got 2 years of leeway because of Corona

Looks like Shakhtar have made their own announcement about the recent meeting with Chelsea.
