Moyes To Succeed Ferguson Anyone?

Ferguson is one of the guys who's nominated Moyes. I think Sir Alex has shown he knows a thing or two about football. So trust him and give the guy a chance.

This is the last time we'll ever be able to say "trust Fergie" after a questionable decision. No other manager will ever have the benefit of the doubt the way Fergie has managed to cultivate.

Benitez to Everton would be the best thing Liverpool related ever.

Moyes going to Watch Chelsea vs Tottenham apparently ?

People doubt his winning mentality.

How many teams could have come back twice at 4-2 down at OT in a meaningless game?

Did anyone see them beat City earlier this month. I tell ya what he's a fiery fecking manager and I'm sure he can motivate the players.

If its Moyes then he'll get nothing but support from me, hopefully he does a "Joe Torre" with us and once he wins one trophy he just doesn't stop.

Sky Sports are bollocks.

"Moyes is on his way to Chelsea... *pause* ...to watch the match tonight."

Spot on for me there. I don't get all the hate towards the man. Sure, he's not a big name or anything but as far as i can see he seems like a fella who can fit the bill. Especially if all our backroom staff stick around too. Perhaps he wouldn't be my first choice but that doesn't mean he's a bad one.

Doesn't Gill's statement about "European experience" directly contradict this?

He couldn't get his side to beat Liverpool away from home in over 10 years, what you would have to consider their biggest game each season. I think he's a decent manager to be fair I just think this jobs to big for him.

How do the Everton fans feel over Moyes to United? Will they start to hate him now or wish him good luck?

Breaking news on Sky News that Moyes is a done deal.

We haven't beaten Chelsea home and away for what? 20 years? You can always isolate statistics. He's put in a few good performances in at Anfield. They should have won their a few weeks ago if it wasn't for a shitty disallowed goal.

Other than a League Cup I don't see what Moyes or Everton are expected to win. And if he'd won the LC people on here would be saying "all he's won is a fecking League Cup!".

How much "winning mentality" is required for Moyes to be accepted by the majority? He's taken that club as far as they can go.

Everton have been a top 10 team. They should have realistic ambitions of winning both the League Cup and FA Cup. He's done neither. He's never struck me as a manager that could take on a top job and succeed. But considering SAF is staying on as a Director, it probably squashes the idea of Jose coming here. So it's going to be Moyes.

I think they will be ok with it as it's been quite apparent that Moyes was going to leave Everton at the end of this season.

How many people actually hate him, though? There are going to be misgivings. He hasn't managed at this level before. I'm sure he'll get the full support of the fans, but I don't think people should be expected to just sit back and trot out the old "If that's what the club think is best then who am I to have an opinion?" line.

Exactly, it really is a puzzling one.

Then again Gill has lied to us before.

Infact Gill has stepped down hasn't he? how would he know whats going on. :D

Gill is still here until the end of June. He's going to be playing a key role in all of this.

I read somewhere that the new manager will be revealed by this weekend, is this right?

I had a look at the Toffee Talk forum. It's a mixed bag of reactions, tbh; some praise Moyes, some are glad to see him go. No hatred though.

I never said they should be expected to do that. It's the people who come in here and just go 'feck Moyes' or something of that ilk that i'm getting at. Criticism is fair enough but the way some people go on it's like Moyes is the first manager to fail at managing United without having actually managed them.

I think it's a better example than them making a comeback in a game against us last year, at least it is based on 10 years and not 10 minutes.
