Moyes So Far!

The kid has saved his arse in this match. But I guess he was the one who had the faith to put him in.

There's still time left. I don't think we should assume we'll win given recent results...especially since we just took off the best player on the pitch.

I understand there are reasons for it, but having taken our two most dangerous and direct players off, if Sunderland get an equaliser, I'll go fecking spare.

And if they don't presumably you'll say we'll done?

And that's a pretty good reason for us having faith in him as a manager.

He deserves credit for the good response from the players in the second half, and of course for giving adnan a start which was a brave decision, some players are letting him down but i'm sure he'll deal with it.

Definitely deserves credit for a good second half and having the balls to start Januzaj.

But once again I was really disappointed with our substitutions. Just like against City and again against West Brom, Moyes seemed totally reluctant to change anything. Against City he waited until we were already 4-0 down before making any changes -- which instantly improved us -- and today his only change was to bring on Ryan Giggs, in a fast-paced game that didn't suit him at all. No other changes, even though we were clearly struggling. I never followed Everton that closely, but was he the same there? Fergie used to be infuriating in his reluctance to make changes sometimes, but I don't remember even him being this bad.

This was me after the match against Shaktar. I was irritated that for the fourth game in a row we'd not made subtitutions when we needed to, and then -- when we did -- made the wrong ones.

I thought the starting line-up was good today, but once again Moyes's substitutions left me baffled. We had finally got control of the game, then he subbed off our best two players and brought on two replacements who didn't exactly set the world alight. Valencia did well -- it was a great through ball to RvP -- but Welbeck offered virtually nothing. And then, because he'd made those two subs, he didn't have one left to bring Rooney off when the latter hurt himself late in the match.

Moyes seems to have a genuine weakness in his decision making when it comes to substitutions.

Credit where credit's due, he had the balls to start a, albeit talented, 18 year old when he's under pressure and had Young, Valencia, Kagawa, Welbeck, and Giggs available.

Adnan was struggling clearly. It was a no brainer to sub him off. Thought the Nani sub was strange considering Rooney and RVP were absolutely off the game tonight.

Got his starting selection and tactics spot on today. Unlucky to concede, but the response was brilliant. What a difference wide players who know how to attack make. Some of our play was reminiscent of the good ol' days. Adnan was superb, unlucky to be taken off. However, the substitutions were small time. The gaffer needs to learn that United attack to the last minute and not otherwise.

Nani was dwelling on the ball quite a lot, didn't look half as good as he did against West Brom. Both Danny and Tony provide better defensive cover too. Glad to see Nani given more chances, but I agreed with the sub + Rooney was quite good in the last 15mins

To be fair to him though, given the form of 2 of them it wasn't a difficult decision. He tried something new and it worked we should give him credit for that.

But i'm starting to think that maybe his comments about the United not being good enough to win the UCL has been transmitted to the players. Most of our players look like they're shot of any confidence and the team looks really disjointed. SAF, even with sub-par players, would always talk them up.

That said we definitely played better after the break so on wards and upwards.

Funny thing is this was said about Sir Alex for years. You could literally pull up thousands of posts complaining about Sir Alex taking too long to make substitutions and/or making stupid substitutions. The same thing is said quite frequently about Wenger.

Valencia was very useful defensively and set up the best chance of the game for van Persie. Welbeck was even better defensively, retained the ball excellently, would've been through on goal if not for O'Shea taking him down and would've been through on goal with no keeper in the nets if Cleverley just passed the ball to him. All in all the subs worked very well. And Nani was crap while Januzaj was obviously gassed.

And deserves a lot of credit for that to be fair. He was in big pressure and started Adnan who in return won us the match (together with awesome De Gea). Now some pressure is off and hopefully we'll be better after the internationals.

Yep. He has worked the lad in well this season and deserves that kind of save tonight.

Is it just me or is he starting to look a lot more comfortable in interviews? When I've seen him I've always thought he spoke like a man who, understandably, didn't feel quite at home, but in that interview and in the last few press conferences he seems much more settled.

The trust he has shown in Januzaj has to be lauded. He gave the young lad his first start in an away game when we were desperately in need of a victory. Fair dues.

This, not many managers who'd do that when in charge of United.. he's kept a clear head for that decision.

Finally had some balls to pick a good attacking line up...

In all honestly, team performance was shite except for Nani, Jones, Clev and the young boy ;)

I have always loved how he gave youth a chance at Everton. Hopefully he keeps the same mindset here.

But the players need to pull the finger out. Like I said, I'm his biggest critic but the players need to take some responsibility here
