Moyes So Far!

Does anybody feel like Rust in True Detective when it comes to United this season?

The OT crowd, forgetting Moyes' terrible record after a game against seriously weak opposition, getting outclassed by teams with any sort of quality. Time really is a flat circle. Everything is just repeating and repeating.

Watching the crowd cheer him when he walked out of the tunnel was like the scene in the church tent. Bizarre.

Feel like I'm in a dream. And like a lot of dreams there's a monster at the end of it (Moyes).

Do you think Everton would take him back now? not in million years. They took the shackles of when Moyes left and are doing much better without him, even the players say they enjoy the more tactical training now that he's gone. And why do we always make the same mistake of comparing what happened more than 10 years ago, football has changed a lot since then.

No definitely not. Martinez is a very good manager and they have a decent chance at making 4th.

HYPOTHETICAL:

Would you take Liverpool winning the league this season...

IF we sacked Moyes and hired Klopp, along with £150m to spend this summer?

Yes, easily.

Klopp would be perfect for us, along with that budget he can mould an exciting squad.

Ulitmate test for Moyes is against Bayern. If he looses he must go.

Playing good against shite teames live Villa does not warrant Moyes to be the chosen one. The chosen one has to beat teams like Pool, Shittie and now Bayern.

I reckon he should go when we lose again to Everton. And we didnt really play that well toady, it could have easily been 2-2 at one point.

Bayern isn't a test at all. This season was the test. Conclusions should already have been drawn from it.

Bayern won´t be the deciding point, unless you get embarassed beyond belief vs. them. They are superior to you in pretty much every aspect with a squad including around 16 world class player and the rest being International level.

The manager will in all likelyhood make not that much of a difference here, because the other differences are too great anyway. United can basically only win in this tie, just like Dortmund can only win vs. Madrid, because everybody rightly expects a loss.

We're a million miles away from Bayern even a top manager wouldn't be expected to get a result against them never mind Moyes. Bonkers

I don't think we're a million miles, I think we're realistically 3-5 years of squad building behind it if we buy the right players, and develop the squad, football is cycle based, United need to buy young, stamp a dominant philosophy and wait for the bayern cycle to end.

We're capable of beating them in a one off, but in a two leg tie, currently, I doubt it.

Once the Chosen One took an average Aberdeen team and got a result against the might Real Madrid. That Chosen One has now retired.

The new Chosen One has to reproduce the same magic otherwise he is definitely not the chosen one.

I agree with this. Whilst we're a light-year back on the basis of this season, we're currently being dragged down from where we really stand. Playing to our potential and investing as Bayern have, we could get back there.

If he ends up winning the CL that would change some things for me. Ofcourse he probably won't win it, but for me it is his only remaining avenue to keeping the job without it being totally undeserved.

I still stand by what I said in the summer, if he is a decent enough manager he should be able to get us in the top 4 atleast, seeing as the team he had at his disposal had won the title on a canter that was reasonable to expect. After the first half of the season I thought Moyes had been unlucky with all the injurries etc but I had good hope that with a little quality injection (and I consider mata as a big quality injection) he should be able to trun things round for us in the second half. I don't know how he did it, but with RVP back, Fellaini back and Mata added to the squad, Rooney playing good consistently he somehow still isn't capable of letting us play football in a decent manner and he has managed to make us even play worse than in the first half of the season. If you look at the first half of the season you say this a top 4 team that has had some issues and bad luck, if you look at the second half of the season you say this an unwachtable mid table or bottom half team that has been playing relegation style football. I don't see any improvements in the performance and he only manages to get results versus the easier teams. Top 4 has become an impossible dream, we have been painfully eliminated in both cups based on that I see no point in retaining him because I see nothing there that suggests he is good enough for the job.

Moyes is not the Chosen One, but I don´t need to see a game vs. the best squad in the world to determinate that. The season has shown enough signs for that.

He won't be sacked this season quite simply because of how good all the other teams are. Even if I sold my soul to devil tonight, he wouldn't get sacked because it's his first season. The powers that be will let him buy players in the summer and if he's still shite at the end of next season, they will cut ties and call it a day.

The way I'm justifying it is:
Man A dates and marries a woman at the age of 21. The first few years are very hard, but after that he lives happily ever after.
Man B dates a new woman every few years, and I mean this guy is shagging some real hotties. But after 10 years, he's still messing around. After a while, will he still be able to find new woman after each experience?

I guess next season will determine whether Moyes finds that special woman within himself, or whether United has to turn into a bachelor.

The way I see it through such analogy is that Bayern Munich have been doing more than fine for 20+ years as a ladies man although not always recommended.

And besides, older men appear good at finding hotties these days.

We treated him like some hero today. It was a bit laughable to be honest.

I think they could put 5 or more past us on Tuesday which could be the final straw. You cannot lose 7-0 at Old Trafford and keep the job.

A part of me thinks we will nick a 1-0 win.

I don't know about you, but I'm not shagging Moyes no matter what.

I agree that I don't think Bayern will be a major decision point because Bayern Munich are just so far superior to everyone else in Europe, and nobody has come close to touching them for nearly two years now.

What WILL be majorly embarrassing and hard to come back from for Moyes is if Everton do the double over us.

We treated him like some hero today. It was a bit laughable to be honest.

The real irony was that after all the complaints about the plane protest being "small time", to applaud an under-performing manager like he's some sort of God like we did today was infinitely more "small time" in its thinking.

An acceptance that we're happy with mid-table, shocking football and no European adventures to look forward to.

I love the optimism

I agree. It was excruciating. Especially as it contradicts probably 90% of United fans' views.

We just won 4-1. The Moyes out brigade should be happy about that, rather than having a go at him.
For me, Moyes has killed some of the enjoyment of following United. It's not even about us not challenging for the title, it's just that we've been utterly average this whole season, including the pre-season. We've been comprehensively beaten and humiliated by both of our biggest rivals at home is recent weeks, and there is little to no improvement in our play - we're just left with mindless, generic and some times disrespectful quotes from the man who's responsible for all of this.

Excuse me for not being too excited with the win today, but the fact that Moyes is still the manager of this club worries me greatly. There have been way too many false dawns for me to really read too much into beating shite like Villa. At home. IMO, we have some fantastic players in our team, and I actually believe we win some games despite of him, not because of him.

Also, a sober Benteke would've punished us today.

That's your opinion - mine is that there are people who have a right to have a different than you and who think that Moyes may eventually get it right. I know that this sounds blasphemous for some of you but you have to accept that there are people who have different opinion to yours

I couldn't believe e the backing he got today. Why do people still have faith in him?

We beat a poor Villa team today. They could have easily scored another one or two against is as well. Pitchforks will be out again come Wednesday. We just can't cope with teams that play actual football against us.

I never said they weren't allowed to express their opinion. Although the club and a hardcore of fans seem very keen to make sure that those who do not want Moyes as manager are prevented from voicing their opinions. Hence the plane, it was borne out of frustration that nobody is listening.

It's not blasphemous at all, I just think it's based on blind faith with zero evidence to back it up and plenty to go against it. Not believing in the manager seems the bigger blasphemy here, something that you just don't do.

Some people think we shouldn't do anything but back him because then opposition fans would laugh at us.

Because we now care what they think. Apparently.

But we won 4-1 against Villa!! Despite another shit on plate style and tactic, he surely deserve another year based on today's game? It's Villa, ffs.

Good result today, changes nothing though. He will be here next season no matter what happens.

This guy is such a prat. Everything that comes out of his mouth makes me cringe. Just not a winner at all. Negative, dour, hopeless. He always "tries" and "hopes" and "strives". feck off. Just "do".

Won against a useless Villa team today that should've drawn level at 2-2. Bayern will bring us back down to earth with a bump. A big one too. Couldn't fathom the backing he got today. Yes I didn't agree with the banner, but chanting support for this total spanner as a reaction is only making the situation worse at this point. The board will never sack him. Annoyed.

He isn't getting sacked, so people will have to get over it.

You good for the money? What do you consider challenging for the title, say we finish 5th but finish 15 points behind the winners, do you consider that challenging as we would still be in it after 33 games?

Which teams are challenging for title this season, and what are their position? if we are replacing one of those team's position next season, then let's say we are title challenger.

You mean the useless Villa side who beat useless Chelsea and has had some good results at home against the top side. People are now looking for negatives that aren't there.

Not sure what you're on about. The reading skills need work perhaps.

And I don't need to qualify every post by saying "in my option" because, well, that would just be silly.

The planned protest was a bit silly IMO. But the applause for Moyes as if he was some sort of heroic figure was equally weird. It'll take a long time for the club, as a whole, to wake up to his lack of quality for this club.
