Moyes So Far!

I agree with all the animosity with Moyes & the team, but i dont know what folk were expecting against City. They are miles ahead of us in terms of form, so gettin beat by them shouldnt have been a surprise & folk shouldnt be acting like that result was the straw that broke the camels back - because the camel was in a feckin wheelchair anyway...

we should have been down 2-0 within a couple of minutes...if not for that save from De Gea. There was absolutely no excuse for us to have started so clueless in defence.
we were a joke.

We really do have a poor record with regards employing managers.

They are miles ahead of us in form, but we've gone to the likes of Anfield and Stamford Bridge in the past when we were miles ahead in form, but we'd still expect a bastard of a game from both of them. Form shouldn't matter in games like that, the players should have been up for them. To not score a single goal in either of them is absolutely appalling.

Quick question for you all: When did Moyes lose you, if he has that is?

Breaking point for me was City and post-match comments. He just looks broken.
Sunderland was the start of sitting on the fence for me, by the end against Liverpool I had taken that fence in a quiet corner and burnt it with fire. Briefly thought about dousing the burning embers after Olympiakos and West Ham but it's gone now, only ashes remain.

He scared me with his post match interview against Wigan in August.

He semi lost me after the first City game.

Completely lost me after the win against Stoke earlier in the season

Dutch Ray's Twitter is on fire tonight. A few snippets...

Having met him, attended a coaching clinic he gave and having shaken his hand and conversed with him in my opinion anyone taking Verheijen as a credible commentator on anything Utd is being led down the garden path. The guy is a complete plonker from my personel experience.

Bryan Robson has been bigging up the Europa League on the official site. I think Moyes may have finally admitted defeat regarding top four.

I think he's a gimp like but;

The problem at United seems structural as the manager looks to have reached his ceiling. Consequently, his ceiling becomes United's ceiling.

That's absolutely spot on.

It's quite possible. But it's hard to avoid the fact that he's been on the attack since early in the summer and that well, whether you call it being 'proven right' or not, things have pretty much materialized as he expected.

Big time man, and against our two traditional rivals aswell. Atleast we dont have to play them again this season & wont be coming up against anyone of the calibre this season too... Ah feck - Bayern :(

Especially when half of us have spent all season saying both teams have shaky defenses :(

Everything he is saying about the current setup he said in pretty much the exact same words on the coaching clinic I attended except he was talking about Fergie at the time. He was calling Fergie a dinosaur on the coaching clinic and telling us all that the tactics and training methods of Rene etc were prehistoric.

Probably somewhere between Fulham and Olympiakos first leg. It's when I realised he wasn't and might never learn from his previous mistakes no matter how glaring they were. And that he seems to not be very brave in his tactics or decisions wrt key players.

I don't know Verheijen but he has been absolutely spot on for everything he has said about Moyes. And he started criticizing him from day 1, so not one of those people who jumped the bandwagon when it became clear how shit Moyes is.

Spurs defeat at home. We were sort of keeping up with the teams above us after Xmas but there was just no urgency from our players and inspiration from the touch line was non-existent. Traditonally we would be starting to put a run together but it kept on faltering after that. Plus it was yet another home defeat which just encouraged every team we were vulnerable at OT. Beginning of the end.

It won't be a popular thing to say, but he might not be wrong.

I know Phelan and Rene are now considered some sort of football messiah, but our football has become progressively worse under them, since Queiroz left. Our football has been left a little behind the times, even in Fergie's final years. A part of it may have been due to neglecting the midfield (for whatever reason, I know Fergie did try to sign some), but not all...

Don't know why you're all calling this Verheijen a tosser and discrediting everything he says.....

He's been right all along with everything he has said...

As Stack pointed out above he's been saying the same things for a while now - he criticized Fergie and his "dinosaur" approach in precisely the same terms.
