Moyes So Far!

No one's gutted, we're winning in spite of him today rather than because of him anyway.

Exactly... so far so good...

I hope we get the winner very late on, otherwise Moyes maybe tempted to do defensive subs only to conceed a late away goal. :nervous:

Makes you wonder if having a midfielder who can pass the ball forward will actually change this team

Play badly, it's all Moyes' fault, not the players.
Play well, it's all down to the players, not Moyes.

I know he's not going to change anyone's mind, no matter what happens, but he really can do no right.

Why should one result change anyone's mind when he's been an utter disaster for the entire season? Good job today so far but we've seen it all before. Every single time, some fans tell themselves 'this is the turning point'. And the next game, we're useless again.

I never said it should change anyone's mind. I was just laughing that if we play shit it's Moyes' fault. If we play well, it's in spite of him. People have their agenda. I never said anything about a turning point.

7th in the league. Say that again slowly, 7th in the league. This team which won the league comfortably last season is now 7th in league under Moyes's leadership.

Again, I'm not defending him. I'm not saying this is a turning point. I'm not saying he should stay. I simply find it funny that even when he gets something right, he won't get credit for it.

this is a great performance but I still want Moyes gone at the end of the season. They players deserve a better manager and one game shouldn't make us forget what a disasterous season this has been. Unless we somehow win the trophy my stance remains the same on Moyes

This win was the 2nd good thing Moyes has done this season, the other being the introduction of Januzaj.

A penalty and a free kick say little about managerial genius to me.

Moyes' smug look ruined this for me. He knows they saved him.

He had us retreating like the French in the last twenty minutes, though. Pushed Valencia back into defence and played RvP up top on his own. Even in a good attacking performance like this, he can't help but go alarmingly defensive at the end.

This. It took a lot to persuade me he should go, so it's only reasonable that it should take a lot more than this to re-convince me he should stay.

Still, delighted tonight. The future can wait.

Changes nothing really. Happy for him, he seems like a hard working person, but the fact that we beat Olympiacos means nothing. We beat the weakest team in the CL, a team who regularly get beat by 5. We should never have been in that position in the first place.

Stay of execution tonight. Sitting back for the last 30 minutes though was so predictable.

It is a false positive for Moyes. The press had to tell him to being Giggs back in and he dangerously defended a one goal lead for half an hour when the feel of the game was for us to go for the kill.

Today hasn't changed my mind one bit. Good win but still needed plenty of luck and we should have never found ourselves in this position to begin with. We won in spite of him rather than becasue of him, I stand by it.

Our performance after going 3-0 up was poor.

Credit to him, picked the right team and we got through.

Still dont think we'll win it but gives us something to sing about

Everyone stepped up. Giggs drove the engine, with great link-up between Rooney and RvP. Best thing was United's pace. Whatever Moyes did tonight-please bottle it and use it for the rest of the season.

If that performance was a person, it'd be David Moyes. It oozed his character, his spirit. And it was brave. Brave like John Terry. If that performance was a person it'd be the lovechild of Moyes and Terry.

Who cares what it is.

I thoroughly enjoyed that, good to support a United team playing well and winning a hugely important game.

Good for you David Moyes, you enjoy this one.

When we were 3-0 up, we invited some unnecessary pressure and if it wasn't for stupid finishing combined with DDG's coolness we would have lost.
If Moyes played a role in motivating the players to that then really props to him.

So he's somewhat redeemed himself slightly for the debacle in Greece... still deserves sacking for the league campaign.
