Moyes So Far!

The wind certainly does seem to be changing.

As for the bolded bit, no club looks after its own like we do. How many ex-players are involved in some capacity. Neville was allowed to leave because he wanted to. Ferguson wanted him to stay. We didn't promote Giggs because he was still an important player for us. Keane became an enemy of the club because he doesn't like our manager and that's what he does. And even if the were sitting around braiding each other's fanny hair, what would Roy 'One good season as a manager' Keane bring to the fold that our dozens of coaches couldn't?

Utter bollocks.
They're still going with the "it's not Moyes' fault" line though. I clicked on that link to the Lawrenson article ("the reality is...") and he seems to be suggesting we're doing Moyes a disservice by dragging his reputation down. Obviously he's more than a little agenda-driven, but still.

He's gone now. We'll not advance tomorrow and the Moyes era is over.

What's made you so certain that tomorrow will be the final straw? surely the Liverpool defeat was more damaging. If he was going to be sacked, it was after that horror show of a game and performance.

Daniel Taylor's article makes for interesting reading. Very well connected at Utd.

"feck off Round...."

The end is nigh.
Only other interesting bit.

Has he lost the dressing room? The way it has been described to this newspaper is that he never actually had the dressing room. That does not mean the players were against his appointment. Indeed, some were actually relieved, for selfish motives, that it was not José Mourinho, on the basis they had seen his treatment of Iker Casillas at Real Madrid and – footballers always thinking of themselves – suspected he would bring in his own players.

Only other interesting bit.

ive said that before on here - given his lack of record, players have questioned him since day one. Whether that's right or wrong is debatable but sports teams/dressing rooms are run by alpha males and moyes has failed to command their respect.

It's weird seeing these kind of leaks flooding from the club. I'm sort of cheered by it as it feels like everyone will soon be put out of their misery, but at the same time I'm finding all the rumours a bit distasteful. We're used to a sort of omerta in the United dressing room where relatively little bitching is made public. I hope this isn't the start of a permanent change in that.

On a side note, Evra is a proper leader. Really hope he stays.

Make him am ambassador and club coach when he's done. Proper legend so he is.

I think it needs to sink in that Fergie was a one-off and we will never see that kind of United again. We have been subconsciously associating so much of Fergie's personality with the club's for so many years, and we're mistakenly continuing to do so. A big one is the 'never say die' mentality and the regularity of late wins and come-backs. That has died with him.

I wonder if Aberdeen fooled themselves that the family spirit at the club under Fergie would continue after he left. Probably not for long.

Because this time the press has been briefed by the players. For the first time not any insiders like Mitten or others talked about unhappy players, but the regular journalists are running storys that his time seems over. The RvP interview, the staged training session today, it's not natural, everything points for me to him being a dead man walking.

I think that Thursday, his tenure will be over.

I wonder if Moyes pays attention to all the shite he gets, like the banner at OT the other day. Or all the shit that's spouted on the internet. Does it affect him, or does he stay away from those kinds of things? Does he care that quite a few United fans, both in England and abroad, absolutely loathe him?

I'll be very interested to watching him being interviewed about this season in a few years time, whether he's still here or not.

I have a sneaking suspicion we'll go through tomorrow, not sure why. I think he'll get a stay of execution till it all goes to poop again.

I hope you're right and it'd be the highlight of our season.

Considering Moyes was all over Baines like a rash, Evra's loyalty and commitment are remarkable.

Touching my wood.

Unfortunately even if we go out tomorrow I expect him to be around.
Just looking at how smug he was when talking about his future, I reckon he's been given assurances.

I still think the only way he's getting the boot this season is if the match going fans turn vocally against him.

Someone should spray that banner...

Not really. Evra's no fool. Firstly there's been talk about him not renewing his deal for a while, back to near the start of the season. So Moyes may have been aware of that when he arrived. Evra would have no cause to complain then. Also I'm sure Evra knows that at his age playing almost every game in the most physically demanding role on the pitch isn't something you can sustain indefinitely. He would have felt he could see off Baines and also get the rests he needed.

That was not there only under Sir Alex. In our first European Cup win we were 3-1 down in the semi-final second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu with only 17 minutes left to play. We pulled it back to 3-3 and got into the final against Benfica, and we went on to win that final in extra time. Brian Kidd's 90th minute goal in the quarter-final was eventually the winner in a tight 2-1 win across two legs. This was there before Sir Alex and you're doing a huge disservice to the foundations Busby created and Sir Alex built upon.

All of these propaganda measures remind me of East Germany just before the wall fell. There were tons of pictures of a smiling Eric Honecker in the East German press to assure people that the regime was sound. Let's hope Moyes as United's manager quickly joins the DDR in the dustbin of history.

Just think about it guys. Even if he stays for a few more weeks, he's definitely gone for next season. The Glazers aren't dumb. They've done the same with their HC at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Schiano was a very hated HC and it was alot like here, a very good team, that underachieved and it was only a matter of time when he was sacked. After a horrendous start they just waited for the season to be over to fire him. The Glazers now know that alot of money needs to be invested, that the way SAF could work with very little money can't be reproduced. But would you give all that money to Moyes? If we saw sign of improvements, definitely. Now that he lost seemingly all the players, they can't buy him a new squad.

Look at the statistics from January to now and that's the reason why he'll be not here next year.

This is all wrong, if true! Imagine a boss telling their employee "No matter how you perform, you won't be fired! Rest assured!". It can't be like that. Without the pressure of keeping the job, one can't do their best. Their trying won't be good enough, you know!
