Moyes So Far!

Sky Sports ~ No defiance and no plan. After defeat to Liverpool, what next for David Moyes at Manchester United?

Van Persie, meanwhile, continues to exist on the fringes of the game. This was the man who was largely seen as having delivered United the title last season. Now it feels a distant memory. On Sunday, he had just 27 touches, the fewest of any starter on either side - including both goalkeepers. Urged to stay high up the pitch by his manager, the game simply passed him by. It all adds to the sense that the team’s problems are – bafflingly – emerging by design. Stylistically, this is how MoyeswantsUnited to play.

His comments before the game that Liverpool were favourites on Sunday, while honest, hinted at this and were picked up on by Rodgers. “I’d never say that of Liverpool even if I was bottom of the league. Anfield is Anfield. We expect to win and we have a mentality in the team that we’ve developed in the 18 months that I’ve been here. There is belief in the players and you can see that in how they play.” Rodgers’ shtick has been known to induce nausea at times, but even among his fiercest critics, few would argue he doesn’t know his audience. Hegetsit. Moyes, it seems, does not.

Here's some of the article from Red Issue...If this is remotely true then we're screwed

Moyes out

Again, not surprising. I said in october this looked like a team who don't use a football in training. When a collection of professional footballers lose the ability to control a ball then you know there is a problem.

Look, lets be clear now. Moyes was a gamble - always was. Its not worked and never will. He doesn't think like a Utd manager and prioritises the opposite of what we want. If we persist, then we will become Liverpool. He has to go....now.

Here's going to be here midweek so lets calm down and try support the team through Olympiakos at home. If you think we have no chance of progressing you have an IQ of 5. Let's push for that and hope we can progress. Other than that, moyes has another chance to impress next week. Again, he will be here tomorrow, and if he's not then he's not, nobody cares what random internet posters think
1) Nobody needs to calm down, I don't see anyone having a meltdown. Posters are having a discussion on a discussion forum.

2)
Posters still support the team, the match going fans still support the team, so what are you on about?

3)
IQ of 5? We are 2-0 down, playing at home which would usually be an advantage but has been the place where we have shown our worst form. If they score, and let's be honest it's very likely then we need to 4. The chances are very much against us.

4)
How many chances does Moyes need to impress? The seasons nearly over and he hasn't impressed yet.

5)
I care what the fans on here think, that's why I signed up.

Every man , his dog, and his missus can see that.

The only thing we have is actually : "He might come good", anything else states "He is not good enough"

Regarding the Giggsy rumor, I found it a bit strange that giggsy wasn't even on the coaches bench these days. I'm pretty sure he used to sit on the coaches bench in our earlier matches.

I can't see why he hasn't been sacked yet. The Glazers are the most who are actually losing from this.

Let's hope something happens today. If he has lost the dressing room as rumoured, even having him gone by the midweek game might be enough to lift us into getting a shot on target.

I think he will go though. Our persistence has run its course, we have been more the generous, and he would not have gotten this much time at any other club top European clubs. Even bottom half clubs have sacked managers for less.

It's the beginning of the end when stuff starts leaking from the training ground no matter how much truth in it.

Looks like the press have turned on him too finally.

I hold onto some hope that he'll be gone by the end of the season and we can forget this whole sorry episode ever happened.

Surely SAF knows that Moyes has lost the dressing room. Surely he still has his spies in the camp reporting back to him.

Why the feck does he not agree that 4th spot is gone?

All this nonsense about fighting till the end.

He really doesnt seem to have much clue.

Is 4th pot gone? We'l fight till the end.

What went wrong? Its tough to explain.

I hate him now, his smarmy shitty responses to questions do my head in.

That's the thing, people keep saying what a nice guy he is. I don't think he is, I think he's a prickly, ego maniac who believes he performed some kind of miracle by keeping a mid table team in mid table for a decade. The way he references what he did at Everton is just bizarre, saying he'd done this before when in a press conference about how shite we were. He actually believes he built some great sides at Everton, and he wants to emulate it here. Then when the Fabregas thing in summer, he told one of his journo mates that he wanted him at United so he could play the role Arteta played at Everton, that alone had alarm bells ringing.

He's out of his fecking mind. I can't believe he's still in the job.

"Well what can I say I'm absolutely delighted. This is a proud day for me, my family and my dad. I want to dedicate this shield to Sir Alex. Without him, none of this would have been possible" - David Moyes, Wembley Stadium, August 2013

That was the moment I knew we were in the shitter....But I never expected any of this

I've been saying or a while now that I don't see him getting sacked for any reason until he has had his summer transfer window. But I think these next two game could provide us with the excuse we need.

Out to Olympiacos and a loss against City and you can't imagine that the club could make any more excuses for him. Potentially down to 8th position with nothing left to play for, a quick execution and plenty of time for the next manager to come in, work with his players before deciding who needs to be brought in this summer.

Please don't let him harm this great club any more. :(

Will our matchgoing fans audibly turn on him to the extent that Liverpool fans turned on Hodgson or Chelsea fans turned on Benitez in the beginning?

If yes, how bad does it have to get for that to happen? I don't think we're far away. A loss to Olympiacos and/or City will probably do it.

It's commendable that it hasn't happened already, but it's getting to the point where it might be necessary to speak up where the people who make the decisions can hear us.
You actually wonder if the players are wanting the fans to turn on the manager. Keep supporting the players, but make their thoughts about the manager known. Some of those players will be gone, but not all and they might be dreading Moyes being kept on. I actually thought they would be well up for the Liverpool game. How wrong I was. It almost like they are playing as badly as they can to show how bad a manager he is.

I predicted this back in December but, it's looking likely now.
If we lose to City, Southampton, Everton, Villa and Newcastle, that is 14 games lost in the league. Thats a loss of another 15 points..

My question is, how bat shit crazy will you go when we finish 9th??

The problem is that if he spends badly in the transfer window a new manager could be left with an even worse squad.

If Moyes was an actor, he'd probably show up at the Razzies and give an acceptance speech about how much it meant to him and his dad.

"10 years at Everton for boss who proves you don't need trophies to be a winner but he is a winner"

Lost for words

Exactly, think how much more difficult we'll make it for the next manager if Moysie blows the warchest on some duds, and the owners have to open their pockets again for a new manager to bring in his "own" players.

Much better to lance the boil now so to speak, get Giggsy to be interim manager for the rest of the season, and go into full manager tap up mode. Every top manager in Europe will know we're looking and have a big budget to spend, which hopefully will help us land someone who is more suited to be manager of Manchester United than David Moyes.

Wow..we've scored 18 league goals at Old Trafford this season? How the feck is the mug still here?

The solution is so obvious and we're not going to do anything, its killing me.
Exactly, Manchester United are about attack, attack, attack. 18 goals is a depressing number.

We are playing West Ham in between those games, there's a good chance we could drop points there as well.
