I would love for this to happen, but I doubt it will. Who said that he will get sacked if we don't finish fourth? Wishful thinking or you are basing it on something?

Pure speculation on my part. I'm in no way an ITK man, though a colleague of mine who works in Edinburgh is a good friend of Gill. Well, that used to be a worthwhile connection.

If we finish a dismal 8th or 9th I cannot imagine Malcolm would give Moyes a second chance. Malcolm is motivated solely by greed and even he would have to acknowledge that Moyes is destroying his investment in the club.

Wishful thinking perhaps, but it's not the same kind of wishful thinking that has me dreaming of Megan Fox on top of me.

Why would we let RVP leave? We didnt let Rooney leave last summer because he was under contract and we felt we needed him. Surely the same applies to RVP this summer?

He is not young, he wants success and he came here for trophies (from his beloved club arsenal). If we can't even get into CL why would he want to stay?

You don't need a greedy CEO to sack moyes, a Rational one will do

We laugh at Barcelona? Can you imagine a manager attempting to play any unattractive football there? He'd last a week.

I think the supporters would tolerate unattractive football if it was also effective, 4-5-1 and a string of 1-0s being a an acceptable plan whilst Moyes steadied the ship. Indeed given his Everton background and SAF's tendency to adopt the same when the team was in troubled waters, it is odd that we haven't resorted to such more often.

Can see Fulham snatching a draw at Old Trafford.

Do you want a medal for your foresight? If your prediction is wrong will you feck off?

I don't think that should be even in the realms of possibility. Have you seen Fulham play this year? They are a terrible, terrible side.
And have like 12 straight defeats at OT...

The bully who won the race among the other moderators to stamp that tagline on me could have never foreseen the fact that I would be right time after time... i have wrought unrepairable havoc on the know it alls who easily brand intellectuals on here 'muppets'.

The self proclaimed football expert who felt the need to gain show the sheep on this forum what a scintilliating potential he has for producing moments of electrifying humor has been hammered down with my careful deductions and pinpoint accurate predictions.

I am a platinum certified poster.

Ha!

David wakes up early today after a restless night. For breakfast he has a warm croissant followed by a buttered hot cross bun, both alongside his typical glass of orange juice and the morning crossword. He doesn't read the rest of the paper, fearful in the knowledge that he remains in the media's cross-hairs. That said, he can't resist a look at the weekend's lacrosse and motocross results.

He walks to work these days - crossroad by car are too unpredictable for his liking. As he ambles past a tennis match in the park he smiles wryly to a wonderful cross-court backhand. Must be brave of them to play in such a crosswind he reasons.

Arriving at Carrington he cross-checks Phil Neville's match stats with pro-zone and yes, too many short passes once again. The players need to learn.

Wayne is the first under cross-examination, questioned under suspicion of playing a through-ball. Frustrated, he criticises the tactics. The line has been crossed and David flies into a fit of rage. Several minutes later Wayne awakes on the floor, dazed, bruised and cross-eyed.

The players need to learn - what if a newcomer like Juan follows Wayne's bad example? David will cross that bridge when he comes to it. Either way, dissent across the squad cannot continue - this is not a democracy and double-crossing will not be tolerated, regardless of how good David thinks it sounds.

But David is familiar with the criss-crossing path to glory, and will tread patiently. The players will soon know his team-talk by heart... 1 Corinthians 1:18... For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

The players will learn and we will be saved. He crosses his fingers.

Bravo

Perhaps the most troubling aspect of Moyes's era has been his inability to coach this team out of adverse cycles. He keeps harping on about the need to sign "the right and better players" and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, such an approach does pose a question as to how he will deal with any similar adversities in the future? Will he steadfastly stick to the need to get in more better players? Is he a cheque book manager, one who only thinks that the best way to solve a problem is by throwing money at it?. I reckon this could very well be the aftereffects of having managed on a constrained budget whereby the notion of more money gets better players and better results can occasionally be entertained and at times even be used as a pretext for performances.

Moyes has a reputation as a steadfast learner of the game, yet thus far we have by and large fail to see how this apparent knowledge he has accumulated over the years is being put to practice. There is a need to go back to basics, in trying to play to the strengths of the talent at his disposal right now. Moyes should by now understand that United very rarely play with two out and out strikers in the big games or stick to the same game plan throughout a half let alone a whole match. We have a diverse pool of talent in our squad and it needs to be utilized. Moyes needs to bin the idea that if something is not working then one should keep trying it harder. Perseverance has its merits but it needs to be measured and contextualized. Could it be that Moyes has perhaps tried too hard to coach the players, and maybe he ought to just let them be a little?

Similarly, even though we may not be privy to what goes on behind the scenes but surely Moyes ought to be in knowledge that persistent transfer talk only engenders uncertainty in the ranks. A significant number of our players appear resigned to not being in the manager's short to medium term plans and this is clearly affecting their commitment; general approach to the game; concentration; and above all the freedom to express themselves. With the exception of Januzaj, there hasn't been a single player playing for his future at United since the turn of the year.

The one for sure is that we haven't seen the last of our league defeats this season and with each passing loss scrutiny of the manager will grow exponentially as will dissent within the ranks. The unfortunate part is I just can't see Moyes turning it around this season and even if he were to be here next season, there has been little to suggest that he is a man capable of going a run of consecutive wins or coaching his way out of trouble.

So do we think he could be sacked this week? I'm glad the media are finally scrutinizing him.
Is it his fault that we have full backs that have forgot how to defend?
Or indeed that our wingers are not in form or good enough?
Don't get me wrong I am not totally sticking up for him as some of his decisions have been woeful, not to mention his tactics!
Fellaini (panic buy) not good enough.
Mata great player and will be a great signing, but was he what we really needed in the January transfer window?
The debate goes on, and will do until at least the summer so I guess we just have to grin and bear it with everything crossed

There are sides to take in every scenario....
I appreciate there are people who are for Moyes...And people against Moyes...
But sweet Jesus, some of the excuses are surreal from the people supporting him.

For example, no one can deny his tactics and playing style have let us down massively this year. It was clear as day this is the case for a long time now...Yet people think re building and getting rid of players will solve this and that it's not Moyes' fault?...Question, if we sign Bale and Messi in the summer, how are they going to do anything if all our game plan is to hit it out to Ashley Young so he can knock it into the box in the hope someone gets their head to it?

Rio has clearly been acting the idiot this year...His comments in the media and his Twitter account show he is no fan of Moyes. Now, he is left out of this team bonding trip shite to Dubai...It's obvious Rio is not part of Moyes' plans and that there are clear issues between them.....Yet people are saying Rio is not going because he can't fly due to his back and it has nothing to do with him not liking Moyes....I understand Fergie didn't bring Rio a few times for European matches, that required long flights, due to his back injuries but, are people really that blind they'll believe Rio's back is so shot from playing football that he genuinely can't catch a flight anywhere in world? But can still play football?

I've always appreciated and respected people's opinions....In everyday life and on here.....But come on!!

There is no denying how poorly Moyes has done this season. To take a stronger squad than Jose and look in comparison (I wanted Moyes over Jose) My Chelsea supporting mates are saying "do you still think he's the chosen one as we think he's Comedy Dave" our position is dreadful the manager has to take responsibility for this. Shocking season so far.

So far??? It's not going to get any better!

It dawned on me today, if we win tomorrow, we are doing Liverpool a favour....IN THE TITLE RACE!!!!

In 7 months, he's got us out of the running for everything, alienated a lot of the players and put us in a position to do that lot favours!!

There is no way this year will get any better....Not even if Jose, flys to Old Trafford wearing a cape and a capital J on his chest

Delusion is getting better of some people here in an astonishing pace.

Title race is currently two horse race ( and I've insisted on it being one since the beggining of the season ) between City and Chelsea. Neither Liverpool nor Arsenal are in it.

Especially not Liverpool.

They're only 6 points behind.....They still have to play City and Chelsea. Anything can happen.

Still think Chelsea will win it by 4 or 5 points

Yea, everybody from the very top can as well lose all their games untill end of the season and we could be crowned champions, still, no.

You're spot on with your second thought though.

Big horses, little horses and we're just floundering about flogging a dead one.

Why is it strange? He's right.

Liverpool have both those teams at Anfield. Do they have champions league to worry about? Nope. They won't be a mile off come the end of the season. But after Saturday, I think people need to start believing that they are the real deal and stop writing them off.

That's a pretty fair comparison if you ask me.

Well let's add Spuds to the title race as well then because they're just 3 points off Liverpool, in fact, Everton too as they're just 5 points of Liverpool.

No, they're definitely a top 4 team at the moment but City and Chelsea are just on another level. City's got the best squad quality-wise and Chelsea got the best manager.

He is not young, he wants success and he came here for trophies (from his beloved club arsenal). If we can't even get into CL why would he want to stay?
People keep missing my point. Even if he hates it here, even if he wakes up every morning miserable and cries himself to sleep at night, he's under contract. Why would we let him go? He's one of, if not our actual best player. We didn't let Rooney go last summer, why would this be any different? In this instance the club has even more power. Ergo, he isn't going anywhere whether he wants to be here or not.

Is it his fault that we have full backs that have forgot how to defend?

Yes. Yes it is. When good defenders collectively 'forget to defend', that's a coaching issue.

to be honerst, i originally also thinkg moyes should be given time to rebuild but two things prove he is not good enough.
1) everton with the same squard (except lukaku) played better than us and
2) with the existing squard, we can only got a draw atnd lose so many games against the bottom half teams.
it shows he is not good enough. u can argue that his aging players let us down but we should have enough fire power to outscore those bottom clubs while being a good manager, he should be able to manage them to play better. and in fact, apart from evra and vidic, i dont think our squard would play so badly for the reason of age.

Apparently it's not for some on here, nor is it anything to do with team instructions, tactics, training, confidence building, morale or anything else than can be associated to the manager.

I'm sick of hearing, " Moyes didn't tell him to go out and defend like that or let his man run past him, or miss that shot" it's up to Moyes to get the best out of the team, it's his job to ensure the team get three points, it's his job to get the tactics right. He's failed at his job miserably, excuses or not it's not good enough.

RAWK was on party when they heard his name as the new manager of United.

FWIW, of realistic appointments, I couldn't have imagined a more pleasing appointment than Moyes. I was delighted when he was announced and haven't met a single liverpool fan who didn't feel the same way.
