Moyes So Far!

If we lose against Arsenal, then it's time for Fergie to come back and save us

After that fiasco today, does anyone still want to argue with me about Moyes making us lump crosses into the box?

You know what irks me, even if Moyes gets it right he's not going to take us any further than fourth. That's as high as his ceiling goes. Oh why are we persisting with him?

Aw diddums. Has the world been cruel, David? Or are you just thoroughly incompetent at your job?

I'd genuinely believe that. They know Moyes won't be sacked, so haven't bothered scrutinizing him. Also, some of the media probably still fear Ferguson, his shadow still looms large over the club.
yes..it all forms part of a big cospiracy..

After they went 1-0 up I found myself hoping we'd get nothing out of it today so we'd have the excuse to leT him go. I wEnt nuts wh3n we went 2-1 up but I'm now back to wanting him out. I was pretty supportive but I think it's time, before any more damage. It's just so fecking shit, not even unlucky, it's fecking shit. We've not lost because we've hit the bar all day long it's cos we've been fecking shit.

You make your own luck at this level. It's a cop out blaming a lack of luck at this stage. Moyes is out of ideas.

I said with the way we play (Wimbledon anyone) and our form. Our 2014 form is relegation form. That is a fact.

No, stop, my sides hurt. It's a good act, but nobody is that capable of mis-using words like "fact", this has to be a wind-up, right?

Even if I had needed to somehow cut part of your post to change the context (lol), you brilliantly make a more extreme post clarifying that the context was entirely clear all along. Brilliant!

I mean, it would be a funny post if you'd just claimed our general standard of play was anything like relegation level. But, just to remove any subjectivity or doubt about context you bring out the "fact" stuff about our form, as if 1.16 points per match could possibly ever get anybody relegated!

Genius, sir, chapeau!

I'm not sure if that ceiling height would change even if we do sign these supposed world class players that Moyes is after in the summer. The addition of Mata should have had a bigger impact than this, if not Mata himself showing more, but in terms of giving the players a lift too. It's been the same shit on a stick though, so what's going to change next season?

He's desperate with those comments. This was Fulham, the worst side in the league who lost at home to a L1 side 4 days ago. And incidentally played 120 mins too.

I'm really intrigued as to what Fergie makes of it. Obviously he isn't going to come out and criticise Moyes or say he made a poor decision in recommending him. I have supported Moyes tirelessly but what I saw today has made me reconsider my stance towards Moyes and now I haven't a clue where I stand with him. However, it would be interesting to know where Fergie stands on all of this.

I said that we the only tactic he knew and a few people pointed at the Mata signing and said he's trying to change it.

That's what we were all hoping for and why the signing was so exciting. It seems like Mata's on strict orders to do his best Valencia impression though.

The manager, hopefully.

Well last time I checked Moyes was still dour and still Scottish so Fergie will think everything is fine with the world.

The champions are lingering at 7 place despite the club having invested over 60m in this team. A substantial number of players want to leave, players like Kagawa and Nani are underachieving badly and the team's spirit and quality of play has nose dived. Moyes seems to have lost the dressing room and would have lost the fans if only SAF haven't stepped in with 'support the manager at all cost' speech.

I stick to my original thought ie the minimum target is 4th place. We shouldn't sack him unless he fail to achieve that. However I am surprised that he hasn't resigned yet.

It kills me that Manchester United are going to continue to allow this man build the club in his image. Kills me.

On being asked did he expect this season to be as bad as it is:
"Probably not, no. Today was as bad as it gets. How we didn't win, I have no idea. It's goals that count. You can have as much possession as you like."

On conceading the equaliser:
"Even when it was 2-1 and they put five minutes up, Fulham never came up the pitch, they left us with the ball. So it was nearly a case of just playing out time and we gave away a diabolical second goal. If we had one failing it was that we should have gone to win 3-1. You could use maybe mental softness that we didn't see the job out and get the job done. I would agree with that."

On being asked if our only plan was to cross it:
"It was never one way. "If you're just going to look at the stats and think about the crosses you need to think about the number of passes and I don't think we just went out and crossed the ball. Some people might say that one of the things that Manchester United do is play with width and cross the ball, that's in the genes here."

Well, I pointed our that Moyes had Mata do that in the first half at Stoke, nothing changed today.

Can't imagine he could right the ship with a dozen matches left. Nine points off fourth, possibly twelve after the Arsenal match, with both Everton and Spurs above. Top four is gone, most likely lost after consecutive home defeats to Everton and Newcastle, and certainly after the last two matches.

He's desperate with those comments. This was Fulham, the worst side in the league who lost at home to a L1 side 4 days ago. And incidentally played 120 mins too.

What's the 120 minutes got to do with it... you know they made 9 changes from the Sheffield match and one of the two survivors went off at half time?

Can see why no big club ever came in for him at Everton.
Even Tottenham, with all their managerial changes, avoided him. It's just so painfully obvious at this stage he's not up to it. Why are the club persisting with him? This is so frustrating.

It has more to do with why Fergie is persisting with him. But we'll see how much longer.

Maybe they have a clause that if misses 4th they can let him go for free

I don't think it's completely fair to have a go at him for laughing. I've laughed myself a few times recently and it's not because I don't care. Not entirely appropriate, I'd say, but I understand that he's flabbergasted that we didn't win today, we made a lot of chances. I'm not holding that against him.

The laugh, that is. He has to take responsibility for the result, and those that preceded it.
