The man has turned us into a laughing stock.

It's an excuse for the results, not for the shite transfer windows. Amount of people making assumptions about training methods and other bullshit when this really is all down to having no midfield, it's as simple as that. I don't see how Mourinho would have got more out of Cleverley, Giggs, Carrick

Again last year we had Scholes and Carrick this year we've had two good games from Fletcher and one or two from Jones.

His got Hazard thinking his Cristiano Ronaldo and a team playing like there in battle everyweek. If you compare that to the lack-lustered AVB side you can understand were the manager makes a difference.

Our poor midfield shouldn't be an excuse for us being 7th on the table. Which is the great midfielder Liverpool have. Henderson is decent but Gerrard has been awful this year. What about Everton? McCarthy is good and he cost less than half of what we paid for Fellaini.

Bring Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta and play a deep line as yesterday and instruct defenders and De Gea to hoof the ball in every possibility, and it still would look a bad midfield. Not saying that is great or far from it, but this team with this midfield should have comfortably been on fourth place.

I have always maintained - and always will - that our treble winning season was down to an immense midfield, who provided for four brilliant strikers.
And so incredible to think that Keano and Scholes both missed the biggest game of the treble season against Bayern and we still won with Johnson and Nicky Butt in midfield even though Bayern mugged us in midfield.....Just shows the difference it makes when your manager is a born winner as opposed to one who is clearly not

Understand your point but Beckham and Butt played central in the final

Rubbish enough with this excuse will you?? does Stoke Everton Swansea and Sunderland have better midfielders than us?

Cleverly, Jones, Giggs and Carrick?

Yeah, possibly. Honestly, that is a completely shit midfield. It is a mid table midfield. Fletcher just returned and that will hopefully make a difference but, it's not in any way shape or form a top 4 midfield.

Can anyone seriously imagine him leading us to a victory away at City like Mourinho did with Chelsea tonight? Not a chance.

Don't you want him still for at-least two years? :wenger:

The answer is of course no. He couldn't win in 50 games against top 4 away.

You havnt watched us play in the last 7 years then

I'm kidding, he is a very good passer forwards. But this season his passing has been very negative, either due to not having confidence in playing forward or there are no options available. Would you not agree?

Liverpool bar Gerard who has been okay for 2 years have Joe Allen, Henderson. Lucus and maybe someone else.. But it's shit and they all manage to play football. Our midfield is a top 4 midfield which is why we always finish there the difference is it has no confidence which has them performing two levels below. Heck add Fellaini and we school Liverpools midfield on paper.

Heard Moyes was out scouting in Europe again...somebody has to tell him none of the players targeted want to join him.

Anyhow he should've been watching the footy, maybe he would've learnt a thing about how modern football is played.

Were are not talking top 4 any more no one is comparing our squad to City Chelsea or even Arsenal, but its certainly good enough not be beaten at home by Everton or breaking 30 year negative old records by loosing to teams like Stoke and Swansea, the midfield excuse isnt good enough, plus he has spent 60 mil pounds over two windows bringing in players of his own choice the man is simply not good enough.

We even played better football with Alan Smith and Djemba x2 in the midfield ffs.

Crap or not he's our only midfielder which puts it into even more perspective. Mourinho would have done better but not by much, one thing is for sure though he would have rushed to strengthen us in the transfer window

For the record, judging by his activities, Mourinho wouldn't allow the team to look so utterly disjointed and I can only assume he'd sorted the midfield in two windows.

He said he goes to European matches to learn different styles and tactics......And no, I am not making that up

I love how posters have got to the point in defending the shower of shite midfield so they can lay every last drop of blame on Moyes rather than accept the truth of how shit the team is.

Both have been shit is the truth of it but Moyes could have fixed 90% of our issues in January by fixing that midfield

Have a look at my comment in the Carrick thread, its been like that for a couple of season, the slow motion Zombie passing thread is years old

It's a midfield that can lose to any team at anytime, honestly. Moyes isn't good enough. Neither is the midfield.
