Moyes So Far!

When Fulham win for the first time in whatever number of years at OT, maybe the Glazers will take note.

I'm honestly quite glad now that we lost to Sunderland, saves us from getting trashed by City at Wembley.

The mind boggles. Did you wish we lost to Arsenal and Schalke prior to our defeats to Barcelona?

A couple of weeks ago, there was quite some support for Moyes on here and pretty much everywhere. Certainly the majority were behind him, me included. Since the debacle on Saturday there seems to have been a massive shift to getting him out. Social networks have gone mad, and I mean OTT mad about him. I don't think there are many on here behind him anymore (they certainly aren't been too vocal about,if they are).
So I ask, at what point does all this go wobble? I suppose as long as we sing his song and display the chosen one banner, then no one will take note.
It's so frustrating but when Arsenal put 4 or 5 past us, will the board take note.

I don't think it will ever come down to anything crazy like Moyes Out chants at games or anything, and it shouldn't. You support the team at the match. The Glazers will have to make a decision if there's no improvement, the earliest that will be will probably be January next year.

Yeah, once he has conclusively proven he isn't up to the task, which by my calendar (and that of the bosses upstairs) hasn't happened yet.

Nice thinking though.

How much more evidence to you need of his ineptness? Perhaps if we finish this season in 14th place, will that be enough? or will 8th suffice?
If the players are doing this, they don't give a jot for the club or the fans, so don't think they are doing it on your behalf.

It doesn't matter why they do it as long as it fixes the problem.

Next fuc*ing year? I ask this again, how much more evidence of his incompetence do you need?

I hoped we were better than that. Obviously not.

Yeah, I can begrudge the guy a full season/most of the full season depending on how we're doing, but if we finish 6th this season then it'd be a bit criminal to give the guy till next January. Taking this side to 6th would be enough evidence that he's just not really good enough.

Everyone at United is good enough to be in the CL places, except Moyes and his sidekicks.

More than half the season gone and we're closer to Newcastle and Southampton than Liverpool. That's far more than enough evidence for me.

Good then. Though probably it is better if people make their own judgements rather than base judgements in other people opinions.[/quote]
depends..on the expertise

As I just posted in another thread, Rooney and RVP passed the ball to each other 3 times on Saturday...and that was to kick off.
That just blows me away.
Good old, pass it wide, drill it in.....try again.

Mata will soon find out why Kagawa has struggled so badly this season. :(

Sir Alex hardly has a great record on recommending managers, does he?

Anyone with a pair of eyes and half a brain cell can see Moyes is fecking awful. But it seems he will be given time. We just need to hope for a miracle.

Better than what DT? Players don't agree with his tactics because they are conservative. Hell, eveybody doesn't agree with Moyes' tactics and from every report we have ever seen we know that they are conservative outdated tactics.

They aren't disrespecting the fans by disagreeing with Moyes' tactics. Look in the beginning of his reign in this forum. The horror and the meltdown when he realized who'll be our new manager. What is to be surprised if the players feel the same. They are humans too and unlike us that we have to watch only 2 hours per week, they have to deal with him every day. And if they don't like conditions, well they have every right to disagree with him. And the club has every right to sell him if they are convinced that it is their fault. Time will tell whose fault was.

Partly, yes. Injuries are a flimsy excuse though, considering we were playing shite football when most of our best XI was available and the results were still crap as well.

We are playing shit football. But we played shit football last year and have RVP saving our ass game after game. We've had a three year old 'Zombie football' thread for a reason. Now, should Moyes have come in and changed things? Yes. But the injuries are a huge factor, especially considering Moyes limited abilities. If we didn't have so many key players out, I think we'd be much closer if not in 4th.

Or alternatively get rid of the mediocre manager and keep the players who are champions. Problem fixed.

Moyes is mediocre - it's so falling that some fans can't see this. Does anyone really think if Mourinho, Pep or even Roy Keane had been our manager, we would be 7th on the table? No miracle can happen here. If you put Moyes in Barcelona, he will play Pedro as a fullback & Iniesta in the defence.

Obviously, the fault is with the manager. Tonight, Jose Mourinho is playing 3 midfielders - trying to set up strong against a strong opposition. Moyes would have played Jones & Giggs in Jose's shoes in a 2-man midfield that would quickly get obliterated.

:nono: He'll play Iniesta and Sanchez on either wing and tell them to lump the ball into Messi & Neymar.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

But it was always obvious Mourinho was a much better bet, the man is a pure winner.

That gash about him "Only" bringing success for 2-4 years just makes me cringe.
As if Moyes will bring decades of it!

No manager would do better with Van Persie, Carrick and Rooney missing such a large number of games this season

Far better manager. But he lost me when he jammed his finger in a coach's eye. Don't want that kind of man as the manager.

Why do you keep saying that? Carrick's been crap this season when he's played. Rooney missed about 8 league games.

Eh, yes they would. We'd be in the top four under any sort of top manager, even with the injuries we've had.

fecking bullshit. Can't actually believe how wrong you are. How can you make such a statement with such certainty? Of course there is a huge chance other managers would have.

Let's finish this myth once and for all. Rooney has played 19 games in EPL this season. He played 27 last year. He looks that will play more than last season.

You have a point about RVP and Carrick. The have missed some games (though overtraining and rushing RVP may have something to do why he has missed some games).

But on Rooney, it is becoming just another Caf legend.

Nope, both him and Sir Alex made a balls of the managerial appointment. Travesty, the entire thing.
It was a bit baffling. SAF has left himself open to criticism by giving the reasons for the appointment in his book. He will be desperately hoping that it all comes right in the end.

Mourinho has Chelsea challenging for the title without a decent striker.

But he did recommend Sir Alex the first time round. I'm okay with not going for Mourinho, the man comes across as an utter twat sometimes but opting for Moyes instead was strange.

There are plenty of managers who would. We aren't expecting miracles or to be challenging for the title but we should be doing better than we have this season even taking everything into account.

It's not a caf legend when both Rooney and RVP go down at the same time - a time when we were on a winning streak - when Moyes was nominated for coach of the month in December - and then we went on a losing streak. (not that Moyes is doing well)

It's simple 1+1 =2. Rooney and RVP out at the same time, as well as Carrick for a bit of that time was a disaster.

Just adding up the number of games as if that happens in a vacuum is not really refuting the point.

In a summer where most of the top clubs in europe changed managers, we chose David Moyes. :(
