Moyes So Far!

Pfft, 11 players on the pitch in their preferred positions, playing at top form, transcends any fecking tactics.
I know on RAWK they like to wank themselves silly about tactics. And I guess RedCafe has become RAWK, but I'm not buying it that Uniteds problems this season were all down to "tactics".
Nope redcafe and RAWK are very different. In RAWK people would have been banned if they acted like here.

Football has never been a sport where the best players win. You probably missed Porto's, Liverpool's, Greece (to name a few) triumphs in UCL and Euro 2004. They were far from the best but somehow won. Mostly because of good tactics.

Tactics and training are the most important aspect of them all. It is the reason why in 2008 almost all United fans would have chosen Sir Alex instead of Ronaldo if only one of them had to stay here. Despite that Ronaldo was the best player in the world and Sir Alex wasn't playing for 40 years.

He's not good enough is he? We looked like a manager less football team.

I think its clear the team isn't together. Some are trying to get behind him and some have made their mind up hes the wrong man. So, players responsible to a certain degree. However, moyes is singularly responsible for how the team plays/style and ive seen nothing to suggest he knows what to do with this team. We have seen the same pathetic long balls from centre halfs and wide men in every game this season. That's not the players - that's moyes responsibility.

:(

Maybe if he also has a dreadful half season next season but makes a strong finish to come 5th he'll get a 3rd year...

Some on here would be happy to give him time if we were relegated next season by the sound of it. It's all the players fault!

Just to be pedantic, this isn't near the best from Rooney. He isn't playing on the level of 2009-2010, second half of 2010-2011 or 2011-2012. He is better than last season though.

We didn't walk in the UCL group. We were comfortable in only 2 games from 6. It was a tough group though, so a good job by him there.

Januzaj handling has been brilliant.

Its not pedantic at all. Rooney has played better than he has this season in virtually every year he has been at United besides last season. This is, compared to 06/07 all the way to 09/10 and then the second half of 10/11 to 11/12 one of his worst seasons. He was carrying the team at the tail end of 2005/06 as a kid and putting in consistently better performances then than he is now. On the way to the metatarsal injury at Stamford Bridge Rooney was playing much better than he is at this minute. Moyes hasn't got him playing well.

I'll give him the Champions League despite some quite dodgy play in the Ukraine and Spain. Given his previous record in the European Cup was being put to the sword by Pellegrini's Villareal its credible and Januzaj well...yes he's playing him but you'd think he's too good to leave out and most managers would play him in games we need to win e.g. Stoke (A).

It feels like he will need a squad better than Bayern's level to win the league. Basically the best squad we have ever had - an the current one is miles off it.

If we could somehow transfer: Kroos, Vidal, Mangala and Coentrao this summer and keep our other important players, he probably still wouldn't be challenging for the title. I seriously doubt Moyes would be challenging for the title is suddenly all Bayern Munchen would be transferred to Manchester United and he could cherry pick his favorite squad from that talent pool.

On the other hand if we would fire him and get in a decent coach like Simeone for example, he probably wouldn't need much to win the title and get us playing like Manchester City. Let a guy like that spend some money and rebuild our squad and if you wait a couple of seasons he'll have us competiting with Bayern Munchen for the CL and the status of best club in the world.

What will happen, simple we'll stick with Moyes for the next couple of years.

Yes I'm sure you are right, Stoke have better players, playing top form - drawing 1 in the last 6 games and they clearly favorites today, being 3rd from bottom.
Aye, it was tactics that took the two starting centre backs out of the game, and tactics that caused a fluke goal!
Excuse me while I ignore yet another muppet on the internet claiming to see every game as merely an exercise in tactics.

I blame Championship Manager. And Jonathan Wilson.

You claim to be some 50+ years old chap, and you ignore people on an internet forum? Because they talk about tactics?!

Lost 1 in 3 games in the league, could lose 12-13 by the end of the season. Got to go back to 89/90 since we lost that many.

He won't be sacked, we have to get used to this. at least this will teach our spoiled fans to support the team and stop whining.

You're missing the point I think. It isn't just about glory and winning trophies. Ultimately it's about the future of the club that we support.

Can you tell me on what basis Moyes should be given another season mate?

Can you tell me what are the positives since Moyes took over?

What I liked about Moyes is that he gave a chance to everyone to prove himself - that's the right way to go about it imo. It was a difficult period and still is, but I think he owed it to them considering the same squad had won the league last year. Not everyone responded positively and he is acting accordingly.
In January, we saw a start of the clean-up and I m sure we ll see more changes in summer. Next season will be the defining season for Moyes imo

He's not good enough is he? We looked like a manager less football team.
That's the worry.
We had no direction and the subs, although forced, made it look worse. The team just don't know what to do when plan A doesn't work, and that is down to the manager.

Does it make you feel good about yourself calling the fans who aren't happy with mediocrity spoiled? Maybe we should go almost thirty years without winning the title again so that those of us who are left supporting United after that can also feel morally superior when we get the league back? Are you happy that City are likely to win the league and Liverpool (of all sides) are likely to take our top 4 place?

I see this kind of comment too much around the CAF for my liking, and I hate to go off on you cos you aint the only one saying it, but there is no moral victory in being cak. When City win the title and rub it in our faces. When Luis Suarez celebrates guiding the Scouse into the Champions League. The fact that the so-called spoiled fans are upset about it isn't going to make it feel any less painful to me.

We have to get used to this? Sadly I fear you're right. Should we have to though? No.

Mate, I think you miss understood me. I am in sack camp as soon as tonight. I am very feckin upset. I said at least being the only positive thing that we appreciate our luck of being fans to this great club and realize that winning is not always a given thing.

As I said in another thread our loss percentage this season so far is a shocking 30% with a win percentage of 52%

No I think you are right. It was misfortune that we had injuries today and it was windy.
It was misfortunate that we didn't have Rooney and RvP fit, that caused us losing at home to Swansea, Tottenham, Everton, Newcastle and West Brom. It's unfortunate that we failed to beat Southampton at home as well I mean late equalizer. It was unfortunate that we didn't manage to beat Sunderland over 2 legs. I think it's also unfortunate we managed to snatch 4 points out of 15 against Arse, Pool, City and Chelsea, scoring 3 goals.

And that has feck all to do with tactics.

He's not good enough is he? We looked like a manager less football team.

He hasn't got what it takes. He hasn't the tactical ability, it becomes more and more evident with every game. He looks so out of his depth. He reacts too slowly to everything also.

Mate, I think you miss understood me. I want him to get sacked tonight ok. I am very feckin upset. I said at least being the only positive thing that we appreciate our luck of being fans to this great club and realize that winning is not always a given thing.

Honest to God mate I'm sorry I went off at you anyway. I'm just distressed and lashing out and being an arse. Genuinely sorry yeah.

This whole situation is just totally f'd up. I just think about seeing Sturridge doing his dance on the rumbles of Fergie's empire and I just want to get senseless.

Need a drink.

By everyone I think you mean Januzaj, because that's certainly not the case with Fabio and Zaha.

Watching these records being broken in what seems almost each week: Stoke, ffs! Since 1984!
Bloody hell.
From the disaster of the transfers in the summer to this. He's done very little right. At least SAF had won in Scotland before he came to us. Moyes has never won anything of note.

That's the worry.
We had no direction and the subs, although forced, made it look worse. The team just don't know what to do when plan A doesn't work, and that is down to the manager.

Tactically inept. Lets a cnut like Charlie fecking Adam dictate play in midfield. Pulls Carrick back to centre half then brings Rooney back to do Carrick's job. What about Fletcher to anchor the middle and leaving Welbeck on the bench? Where on the pitch was Mata supposed to play? Wide right where he can do damamge at all? Awful display. Outfoxed by Mark fecking Hughes and made to look like mugs by a fecking rugby league team.

1. We rarely go after the top level players, and given that we can now just be outbid by the sugar daddy clubs, and I don't think the PL is as attractive as it was 5 or 6 years ago anyway.

I think point one is going to work against us anyway. You are right that we rarely go for top players but more for emerging talents.

But even with emerging talents a real plus point was that we could offer them is the chance to play in the UCL at a very young age. Which for younger players who joined us turned out to be a better option than sitting on the bench at Chelsea or City etc.

Without UCL football we lose this one pulling point.

By everyone I think you mean Januzaj, because that's certainly not the case with Fabio and Zaha.

Likewise Hernandez unless you consider 5 minutes here and there at the end of games a proper chance to pick up some rhythm and then expecting the lad to be in fine form on those rare times he does get a game.

I don't think there is a plan A. It doesn't seem like there is. There is definitely no plan b.

By everyone I think you mean Januzaj, because that's certainly not the case with Fabio and Zaha.
Fabio has been underperforming for quite some time now and it was no news when he decided to ship him off to Cardiff. As for Zaha, I have no idea what went on behind the scenes to be honest.

This looks like it's headed for one thing and one thing only - David Moyes being sacked eventually. I mean I don't think I've ever seen such a talented bunch look so incapable of passing the ball between them. It's madness. If this were Liverpool we'd be hoping and praying the manager stays as long as possible.

Do you really think so? Januzaj he did, but Fabio, Zaha, Kagawa?

Especially with Kagawa he's decided to freeze him out despite being considerably more effective than Valencia & Young. Today we know why, he wants to get to the line.

Didn't Fletcher play midweek? He's clearly not being used more than once a week as he returns from the long layoff.

What the feck is this...

"We played well today," Moyes told MUTV

... What the actual feck?! Does Moyes think we're doing well?! I honestly can't believe he's said that!

They must surely have a campaign to keep him at United, what's the acronym?

KMAU doesn't have any ring to it.
