Moyes So Far!

Honestly couldn't give a shit what he says in his interviews.

I like Moyes, I still think he needs to be given time but he does carry the can for today. The tactics, the subs were just all over the place. It's the first time I've looked at us and really been worried.

Hohum, we'll just have to suck it up for a while I think.

I'd be happy for Giggs to get the job on an interim basis. Genuinely think he'd inspire the players more than Moyes.

If he'd put Fletcher on people would be complaining about him being negative
True.
Or we might have won.
I dont know if we had won or not - would it make sense to put someone still not fully fit when you already have 2 players out injured?
One thing is for sure...some ppl over here would have complained - I have no doubt about that :).

I feel really sorry for him. He had to finish top 4 and win some silverware for the fans to give him a chance, however I reckon his position will be untenable at the end of the season. It's looking like finishing 10th is a reality.

You have to admit he has had some horrendous luck though. I know some of his decisions are way off, but Fergie did some odd things during games as well, some highly illogical tactical moves, but the team mentality of winning got him the lady luck factor. Moyes doesn't have it. Good luck is psychological and I think at this club we need a proven winner.

I hate how people are comparing SAF's early years with Moyes. The club is in a totally different position to what it was in 86-89. We have just come off the back of 20 years of the highest achievements, you need an expert level winner to mantain that form. No one is suggesting we were going to have that level of success after Fergie, but what is happening now is really not acceptable.

Just to add though I don't think Mourinho would have been right for us as his play style is not right for Manchester United. We play exciting flair football with the aim of giving the fans something to take their mind off their shit jobs and lives. Under Mourinho watching us would have been like being at work, dull and grinding. Having said that....David Moyes?
I would not care about losing, but how many saves did the stoke goalie make today?

We generally relied on our strikers no more than most normal teams would last season. Van Persie was prolific and occasionally had to carry us, but we scored 86 goals and he only scored 26 of those. Rooney scored 12 if I remember correctly, Hernandez around 10, and Welbeck hardly any.

We don't have a consistent goal threat from midfield, last season we were shit hot upfront and scored a lot from set pieces, Evra was prolific

And what position where we in when Fergie took over? :wenger:
I get that you want Moyes to be given a chance but to say that fans who want him gone are acting like City and Chelsea fans is ridiculous.
We had plenty calling for Fergies head in 2005!

Yes, I think plenty of the most hysterical divas on here would prefer to be City or Chelsea fans! A proper sugar daddy owner, fulfilling transfer muppet dreams, firing managers every season. No fecking about trying to build up home developed. players like Welbeck or Cleverley!

But, thankfully, this is just an Internet forum.

Oh yeah they'll complain one way or another. Fletcher has had enough football recently - he's on the bench to be used when needed. When you lose a CB and have to move a CM back there. It makes a hell of a lot more sense to bring on a midfielder than to shift a forward back there and have 2 players out of position.

We don't, although we were hardly awful at scoring without strikers last season.

Not only in 2005....some spastics would change the manager every month...

That's what i'm saying. The belief and conviction of a team of winners isn't there. We are the champions ffs, fresh off winning the premier league and most of our players couldn't finish a hot meal. We wouldn't have beaten Cardiff without RVP as the early goal calmed the nerves. Yes, think about that, needing an early goal to calm our nerves...at home...to cardiff city.

Today was the first time you've really been worried this season?

A caller on MUTV (don't normally watch it but put it on) and some guy said he has no idea what Moyes is doing with his subs and Kagawa. He said what I've been thinking about Kagawa for ages. He takes him out of 4 or 5 games, throws him back on and then naturally does not look match fit and then pulls him off at half time or so. What's the point.

I'm old enough to have seen the same shit spouted about Fergie. So pardon me for thinking that United will give the manager a chance.

They're quite different situations though and SAF had a much better track record than Moyes before he took the job in the first place.

Obviously the club will give him time but you can hardly blame some fans for reacting badly. In fact, United fans have generally behaved brilliantly considering how dreadful we've been so far under Moyes.

The club will keep faith in Moyes but the truth is he's done nothing to justify it so far. He's lucky he's at Manchester United and not any other club.

I think this forum, and hopefully the United squad, will have a big clear out by the Autumn!

All the talk of midfield, we could put Toure in there and there would be zero difference if Moyes continually lets the centre backs hoof it long.

Because Welbeck and Cleverley were fantastic today of course. Stop implying that everyone who dislikes Moyes would be best suited supporting Chelsea or City. People who want to see Moyes go simply don't believe he's good enough to manage this club, as every single sign this season has suggested. There's nothing wrong with that. It's much better to see than the blind optimism some fans are showing.

That's still not comparable in any way to what we're seeing right now. That was calling for the head of a manager who had won everything under the sun and given us our most successful decade ever. And we were still comfortably getting top four.

The closest precedent to what we're currently seeing would be what happened after Busby left.

Disappointing statements from him. I didnt see the game because there was no stream available but from everyone's reactions we played far from "well".

I had hoped that he would be tougher with the players after his recent comment about "players needing to step up" or whatever and I expected him to continue that line of rhetorics to push and motivate the players. Seems hes gone back to excuses instead...

The players need a kick up their arse, but its the manager's job to do something to give them that kick when they arent performing. Moyes fails to do that. He stick with players who perform poorly and keep making the same poor tactical decisions and subs. He needs to really shake it up regarding starting lineups when his first 11 underperforms continually for such a long period.

I think I'd rather people stop comparing Moyes to Fergie. What has Moyes ever achieved to be compared with Fergie?

I don't think people wanting Moyes out are the same as those that wanted Fergie out.

Yes I m sure that some ppl over here will always complain....unless the manager whoever he is let's them pick the side themselves.

Too many spoilt brats ...

The squad needs a major rebuild. It's a major black mark he didn't do more last summer. He's got to make the right moves in the summer. If it goes badly then....

But yeah, United match goingmatch going fans have been amazing. Can't imagine City or Chelsea being so patient. And thank feck for that. If we can't have a sugar daddy we can at least have class fans.
