Moyes So Far!

The last time that Manchester United lost as many as eight of their opening 24 games in a league season was in 1989-90, when they lost 11 times and finished in 13th place.

Well done, Moyes. :(

Also, Moyes confirmed Shinji didn't even make the 18 man team. I mean, wow.

I'm old enough to have seen the same shit spouted about Fergie. So pardon me for thinking that United will give the manager a chance.
Again the Fergie argument. Well Fergie had to REBUILD a shit team full of drunks and misfits. That's the small difference with Moyes. Other than that they're completely alike. So let's give Moyes six years. Ten even, why not, he might come good eventually. We won't know until we give him two - three decades.

I feel really sorry for him. He had to finish top 4 and win some silverware for the fans to give him a chance, however I reckon his position will be untenable at the end of the season. It's looking like finishing 10th is a reality.

You have to admit he has had some horrendous luck though. I know some of his decisions are way off, but Fergie did some odd things during games as well, some highly illogical tactical moves, but the team mentality of winning got him the lady luck factor. Moyes doesn't have it. Good luck is psychological and I think at this club we need a proven winner.

I hate how people are comparing SAF's early years with Moyes. The club is in a totally different position to what it was in 86-89. We have just come off the back of 20 years of the highest achievements, you need an expert level winner to mantain that form. No one is suggesting we were going to have that level of success after Fergie, but what is happening now is really not acceptable.

Just to add though I don't think Mourinho would have been right for us as his play style is not right for Manchester United. We play exciting flair football with the aim of giving the fans something to take their mind off their shit jobs and lives. Under Mourinho watching us would have been like being at work, dull and grinding. Having said that....David Moyes?
This myth again, you do realize Mourinho's teams over the last decade have ALWAYS been within the 2 highest scoring teams in every league he's been at?

The "I don't know what to do" quote may have cost him his long-term job here. :( If that quote is true, I think he's broken.

Safe to say we should have appointed mourinho! Couldn't see him managing a team this poorly. Probably too late to get him now and Dave probably has at least one or even two more seasons at the helm even with subpar results or trophyless seasons.

We are a team that gets almost no goals from anyone other then our strikers, same as last season, its got nothing to do with Moyes

We generally relied on our strikers no more than most normal teams would last season. Van Persie was prolific and occasionally had to carry us, but we scored 86 goals and he only scored 26 of those. Rooney scored 12 if I remember correctly, Hernandez around 10, and Welbeck hardly any.

Must admit, it's getting a little difficult to stay positive after those quotes. He's clearly seeing something I don't. I still think the odds were stacked against us today, but "good performance"? "we played well"?!

I'm old enough to have seen the same shit spouted about Fergie. So pardon me for thinking that United will give the manager a chance.
Presumably you are also aware that Fergie actually had a track record of, you know, winning things.

So am I and as has been explained on here many times - the situation and the manager were entirely different then.

If he'd put Fletcher on people would be complaining about him being negative
Not really, considering we needed someone to play midfield. 2 midfielders is generally the minimum, and it wasn't late in the game.

He seems to copy Fergie in throwing players on to win us the game, the problem is we have no control of the game in the first place, whereas Fergie did - we're just throwing forwards on without pplayer to provide a good enough platform for us to attack. He did the same versus Everton at home.

Harry would be an improvement for crying out loud. Atleast he gets his team to play decent football.
At this point I don't think anyone can be worse at the moment. It's like Moyes is playing some hidden camera on us all and United..

"I don't know what we have to do to win."

He should ask Steve Round.

Exactly. Moyes is more defensive than Mourinho and his tactical knowledge is on pair with that of Alan Curbishley.

Saying that Mourinho wasn't right for us because he is defensive (which he is for around 5 games in a season), and then appointing Moyes? Fergielogic.

The "I don't know what to do" quote may have cost him his long-term job here. :( If that quote is true, I think he's broken.

I thought the signing of Mata revitalized him and our team, but if he's saying stuff like that, I think he's broken as well. Let's just hope he was kidding and it's being made out as if he was serious.

Also, Moyes confirmed Shinji didn't even make the 18 man team. I mean, wow.

I honestly feel sorry for him, lured to United by Sir Alex, does okay in the first season and Sir Alex saying he'd have a great 2nd season, blah blah...

Moyes comes in and freezes him out in favour of Young, Valencia and the likes. :(

Imagine if this fecker somehow fluked us a Champions League win?

He'll probably have to at this rate to get CL. We could be 9 off Liverpool come end of tomorrow. Effectively 10 when you factor in goal difference.

Moyes is clearly a closet Liverpool fan, and has master-minded the world's most elaborate and well played wind up.

Gus Hiddink is available. We need a man to come in who will command the respect of the players and inspire them. Moyes is not that man. 'I don't know what to do' is him telling you that himself. Moyes the man, the manager, cannot inspire this group of players even to a level of moderate underachievement.

If he's kidding after a defeat like that, it's even worse.

We can't beat the likes of Stoke, Sunderland, etc and you're hoping we beat Bayern, Barca & co?

I'm half resigned to losing to Olympiakos.

Those quotes are a bloody joke. How can anyone say shite like that in his position?

It's getting farcical.
