Moyes So Far!

Why didn't he start Fletcher? Not a big fan of this throwing injured players on after being injured for a month like Jones.

Anybody who's watched us this season wouldve never picked Young. Why couldn't he choose the same front line that worked very well last week?
tbf he had a couple of good games lately, not to mention that the options are very limited at the time being

I forged a bit of optimism towards him from December, as he seemed to start getting things right, grinding out some tough wins. The comeback against Hull made think that just maybe we could push on. 2014 has not been a very happy new year though. Other than that, the Bayer games and the opening game of the season, it's been difficult viewing.
What's it been, 4 losses and 1 win? It's not like we've played great opponents either. Chelsea was the only game I expected to lose from them. It was always going to be tough but moyes is still failing miserably at united.

Hmm, possibly true, but they want to play for teams that play good football and for a manager who knows what he's doing. Right now, the pulling power of the club is probably not great. I can't see any playmakers wanting to move here incase they are shunted wide like Kagawa, or any top creative midfielders incase they get put in there alongside a defender.

Dare I say it, a progressive and modern manager like Rodgers would have greater pulling power than Moyes. Both are relatively unknown around the world I'd imagine but Rodgers' philosophy and style would probably sway a player if there was a choice between the 2.

Manchester United manager David Moyes, speaking to BBC Sport: "We did not deserve to be 2-0 down at half time. We had a little bit of bad luck with the first one but we can't blame anyone else but ourselves for the other two. We did not defend well enough and did not get a chance like Chelsea got to score, so we can only blame ourselves for that.
"I thought we played well in parts of the game. We played well at the start, we just missed the clinical finish. We didn't score in their box and we didn't defend well in our box. I thought we did well in between the two boxes, but then did not do what was required in the crucial areas.
"We will keep going. We showed a lot of good things today. There is a progress we have to make and improve all round and myself and the club will try to do that."
On Vidic's sending off and Rafael's booking: "I have not seen Rafa's but I have seen Vidic's. Vidic's for me is not a red card, it was a yellow card. If Rafa's was a bad one I would hopefully come out honestly and say what I think."

the clubs you are referring to are usually owned by sugar daddies

Barcelona aren't and somehow I can't see them putting up with a new manager that had gotten a title-winning squad into seventh, can you? neither would Bayern, Real or any of the rest of the heavyweight clubs either.

I mean, seriously, we're a point ahead of Newcastle. Newcastle! people can talk about injuries all they want but this is way beyond unacceptable now.

It's a shame Moyes isn't having as fantastic a first season as Rodgers did

Very true. But honesly mate, there is no point in even contemplating this because there is no way United will sack Moyes this season.

Nothing unexpected today, a mediocre manager being handed a lesson by the best manager.

I'm left to hoping the Glazers have the sense to pull the plug, hopefully the share prices will be enough to shock them into action.

What a load of shit

Assuming you're being sarcastic, Rodgers came into a Liverpool side that finished 8th and took them to 7th, while playing some good football and showing progressive signs. Moyes came into a side that comfortably won the title and has them currently sitting in 7th.

No Rodgers didn't have a good first season with Liverpool but then again he didn't inherit a champion winning side. You cant compare the two at all.

Championship winning side, if only it was that simple. Are you purposely choosing to forget the obvious problems last season and the fact our squad is largely dross?

Being a sugar daddy doesn't mean that you're wrong every time you sack a manager. Clubs that have a new manager every season can be seen in this negative category with managers, but that doesn't mean it's wrong for them to sack a terrible manager. If we give Moyes a full season then we've given him more than any other club of our stature would have given a manager performing at a similar level.

Does anyone still actually believe Moyes was a better choice than Mourinho ?
People are mental if they ever truly did think that. A midtable manager who won the second division once 15 years ago better then one of the best around?

Now I see what he meant when he said 'it's probably gonna get worse before it gets better'... it will get better when we sack him. Sigh indeed.
Let's hope he does get sacked, and none of this "we're united and we are above sacking managers". He's shite. The sooner we realize this and get rid of him, the sooner we can get back to normal.

Yeah let's forget the premier league champions bit but when assessing the squad of last season.

That's a terrible excuse. Our squad is not dross, it's under performing and low on confidence. Does it need investing? Yes, like all teams, but to state that our team is terrible is pathetic and highly ignorant.

Only 5 points won against the sides above us.

It's soon getting to the stage where Sir Alex was so amazing he managed to turn relegation candidates into runaway champions.

We should be grateful Moyes is getting us midtable with those useless players. :wenger:

If we get knocked out on Wednesday, then surely the club have to say enough is enough? It'll be our season over basically!

We can still look forward to getting trashed by whoever we draw in the CL QF.

We would still have time to get Roberto Di Matteo in to win us the Champions League...
