Moyes So Far!

That guy is such a fecking spleen. Did he fancy himself for the United job or something? He's like a fecking child.

He's got strong opinions and doesn't come across well but those points don't mean he's wrong about our injury problems. We all know Van Persie is delicate and needs to manage his body, I doubt forcing him to over train has helped him to continue avoiding the injuries of the past. Something RVP had done well over the previous 3 years of his career.

It certainly doesn't mean he's right either. By all accounts he's only saying things that any one of us could say and much like us he actually has no access to Carrington or our sports science team so he's basically just a loud mouthed ball bag trying to get some publicity off the back of United.

According to Stack's posts from his seminar he used to give Fergie the same treatment. Clearly Fergie's training methods were shite, we hardly won anything under him. All we've seen is that a previously injury prone RvP is injured and Rooney pulled his groin. We're having no more or less injuries than we normally do to be fair, just this season they've hit key players.

You're missing the point. It goes both ways with Moyes and the players. If, for example, Moyes left he would be able to give details about why he had a difficult tenure. Right now all he can say is "we are working on our performances. The players are training well. We have money but in the January window it's hard to close any deals." Same as the players all they can say is "he's a good manager and we are enjoying training" There are some things that may be holding Moyes and the team back that will be revealed when someone is able to speak freely.

This is obviously true. But what Fletcher says here doesn't read as standard script to me. He answers a particular question, claims there is no dressing room trouble and goes on to elaborate regarding the transition and the difficult season. If this is an evasive manoeuvre or the like, Fletcher is a very slick customer.

Verhiejen on the course I attended was using the dinosaur and over training comments about Fergie. He has simply swapped out Fergies name and replaced them with Moyes. I attended the course before Moyes was appointed. Verheijens main topic was a thing called Periodisation training and Utd have been using those ideas for years, most clubs have. Verheijen is using Utd as an example of how not to do things despite the fact Utd use the very system he lectures on.

He started the course with a bunch of very controversial statements, I did wonder at the time if it was a way he gets interest in his coaching clinics. He was/is a very good and well known fitness coach, he just happens to fancy himself as a tactical coach however the tactical part of the course I attended was stuff the coaching world stopped doing a decade ago as its outdated. He came across as an overly confident man with a massive ego.

The periodisation part of the course was very good and done well.

He pretty much criticizes everyone though he has been more aggressive to Moyes than in other cases. He criticized us in the past, as has criticized Wenger. Has been spot on when it comes to RVP though at the moment we don't know if he was simpy lucky there.

Well you would have a great chance with respect to predicting RVP injuries considering his injury history.

I'm starting to think that Moyes perhaps isn't used to the sheer size of the squad. Is there any precedent for Fergie completely freezing out the likes of Anderson, Fabio and Zaha when fully fit? Even if he didn't fancy players, they would at least get games here and there or come off the bench occasionally.

Add to that Hernandez and Lindegaard who have also been used a lot more sparingly than perhaps necessary.

To be fair to Moyes, Anderson is shite, he probably doesn't want to play him.

He's probably wanting to stick with his out and out best available XI in what is probably one of the (if not the) the highest pressure season anyone has ever faced in the job.

Well that's clearly been written and submitted by our PR department.

Decent enough article though and it does give some perspective and the other side of the story.

One thing is clear, Moyes isn't getting sacked anytime soon. Seems the club are clearly behind him and I doubt anything he does this season will get him sacked.

Why Januzaj in the hole and kagawa on the left? FFS play them in their preferred positions.

I'm sure Januzaj prefers the middle but I agree. JAnuzaj is better on the wing and Kagawa seems to only play half decent in the middle

He's tactically clueless. That much has become pretty obvious.

Making Swansea look like fecking Barcelona. 32% possession at home.

feck me. What the hell does he have them doing during the week? Half these guys look like this is the first time they've touched a football

Great decision by Moyes on that count. Januzaj > Kagawa and you want your best player involved as much as possible. And besides Januzaj is an AM

Yeah. People can moan whatever they want about Rene, but the fact is, he played a big part of United last 5 years success.

Hard to argue with success, you know. Especially if you use United current situation to hold up against it. I'd take that moany, mouthful Rene bellend over any of our current coach.

Januzaj has had his best performances from the wings. While his future position might be through the middle it's a tall order for any teenager. Even Ronaldo started on the wings.

He prefers to play through the middle and did a lot for the reserves as well. Our best player, playing in the position where he can have the greatest influence. Shocker

We've not changed anything around tactically, except from no longer playing through the middle at all.

Outplayed by a injury-ridden Swansea-team with a CB in midfield. Embarassing.

I think this post from the matchday thread is spot on...

This is tumescent shit. I wouldn't mind if there was some evidence of what Moyes is trying to do, or indeed any style to our play, but honestly this is nowhere near top quality. We aren't unlucky, we are mid table quality.

I think most people could accept the results if there was evidence that there was some sort of plan, or style that Moyes was tying to implement, that was just taking time for the players to adjust to. A bit like Rodgers with Liverpool last season, but there isn't.

and that is why Januzaj should be on the wing rather than Kagawa.

He bought Fellaini. For £27.5m.

That's my biggest gripe so far. The squad and team is seriously lacking in quality for a title challenge and that isn't his fault.

Is this the best football we've played this season?

fecking brilliant. Start with this intensity and Januzaj will rip every team to shreds

What overstatement?

This is the best we've played all season, no question and we've played teams far worse than Swansea.

I'd say we looked more up for it in the first game vs Swansea on the first day, not to mention the Leverkusen game but you probably meant in the league right?

Disagree about the first point.

Leverkusen is probably the worst team we've faced all season. Just stood of us and allowed us to pass

Leverkusen needed to win that game and we tore them apart. Worst team we faced?, they were 2nd in the German league and the time. Maybe just maybe we actually played really well that day??

They were very very poor both home and away. We've could have had about 8 in the home game alone.
