Moyes So Far!

To say that United have had to play against the officials is arguably the most disgraceful thing I've heard in a long time. The audacity to say that given United's history and the fact that even tonight Rafael was spared a red card based on the shirt for which he was playing. Scandalous.

Are you taking the fecking piss? Rafael spared a red card? for what?

It was based on the fact he'd been booked 30 seconds previously for dissent and it would have been a soft yellow. The referee applied a bit of common sense.

Write a letter of complaint.

I would do if letter writing was still in fashion. Maybe I'll do an angry worded tweet.

Seriously though, it's amazing to hear it. Giggs now - 'the decisions are laughable.' No they're not, they're absolutely standard for a normal football club. United concede their first penalty in over 100 games I believe and he's giving it large to the referee at the end. The sheer hypocrisy of it.

He was spared a red card because he got a cheap yellow immediately before you fool. That's happened dozens of times at dozens of clubs.

We are definitely not going forwards! That must be the most delayed epiphany ever.

Moyes is certainly making my days at work harder.......................so many City fans!!!!!
I thought we might have started to see a slight improvement, even a tiny bit would have made me happy. Nothing, passing is getting worse, play in the final third, defence, midfield, subs, style, you name it, it's all going backwards.
I'm trying hard to back him, and taking any positives that I can, but I'm struggling to be honest. :(

One part of me commends United that he's still in a job. Any other big club and he'd be sacked by now. Yet it doesn't look likely that he will go anytime soon.

The other part thinks that we must be bonkers.

Forgetting everything else for the moment - like DM thinking we were good tonight - whinging about the officials is embarrassing and demeaning. We've had enough decisions go our way in the past - it's part of the game.

Oh dear.

Kicking a random guy when he was already on yellow?

Let's bare in mind that Borini was taken out with a sniper rifle to his big toenail.

That wasn't a bookable offence in any way. Borini jumping up like a dolphin made it look a lot worse than it was.

We're obviously playing a long con. Moyes fancies our chances in the league next season, so instead of being bogged down by playing in the Europa, he's going to guide us to a nice, safe, mid-table finish.

Job's a good 'un.

Embarrassing? I don't know how you can describe it as that when literally every single manager in the league this season has complained about a poor decision by the ref at least once already. It's part of the game and venting when it goes against you is part of it too.

Manchester United manager David Moyes: "It is difficult we just need to keep going. We didn't do a lot wrong. I thought the referee was going to blow in our direction for the first goal. I couldn't believe he gave a free kick. It was a terrible decision.
"We are all just laughing at them at the minute. We get a player booked for doing the same. It looks as though we are having to play them [officials] as well as the opposition at the moment.
"I thought the players, our crowd were unbelievable, the players deserved to get a result. It's a two legged game and I am really looking forward to the second leg."
He says we played well everytime we lose.

Every manager does it to be fair.

The Chelsea game could be the make or break game, a decent performance/result might spark us into action but a hiding might mean his position is seriously under threat.

I agree with you. I hate seeing players and managers whinge about decisions going against them, and it's no different for us.

Terrible post.

What's Zaha done not to deserve game time?

Definitely an area where Moyes has made problems for himself. Zaha and Ando might not quite be as good as we'd want them to be, but we know Ando can do a job, had he been given a bit more time we might not have to be running Clev in to the ground. Likewise with Zaha. Now though both must be so lacking in sharpness and confidence it'd be more of a risk to chance them but it's getting to the point where he can't keep using players who are letting him down.

Poor wumming, Alastair. Must try harder.

On the plus side losing to Sunderland in the Semis might be preferable to getting battered by City in the final.

I actually think he's spot on and not wumming for once.

Although, you're full of shit about Rafael....Referee was using common sense so don't be so melodramatic

No, I'm actually pretty sure that he's got every right to be pissed off because for same kind of shit we didn't get two penalties against Spurs. Those decisions are laughable, no matter how much you'd try to ridicule them. And you come across as even bigger drama queen than our players right now.

Well, the players are obviously playing exactly the way Moyes has told them to. That worries me.

it's not Moyes fault that players have dropped several levels since Fergie left
it could be Moyes fault that we are defending badly - not picking up Brown on a set piece - ridiculous - it could be his tactics which mean we are predictable in attack but the players have to shoulder much of the blame

Moyes has made his mistakes - none more so than in the transfer window and with some of his team selections - he's been unlucky with injuries obviously and when he's gambled (Valencia at RB) it hasn't paid off - signing someone like Ozil - even though he wasn't essentially what we needed - would have made such a statement and Moyes would have shown how he is capable of buying world class talent

nevertheless I really think the players have let themselves down.....

being Champions all those times you'd have thought our players would have had the mental strength to cope with the pressure after Fergie went - you'd have thought our players would have enjoyed the challenge of showing all the critics that they were good enough - you'd have expected us to tear into teams when chasing games and to react when we've lost a game - some of the individual and team performances have been simply pathetic

at the end of the day the buck stops with Moyes though
