Moyes So Far!

From the banks of the River Irwell
To the shores of mediocrity,
We're Manchester United,
(But not as good as we used to be)
To hell with winning leagues
To he'll with FA Cups
(we're shit!)
But to say it's all David Moyes' fault
Is to deny all reality

Can we now please take a Poll on how many of us would like Moyes to resign/get sacked as of immediate affect.. and another one on who could replace him..

Agree totally, I said at the time if the failure to strengthen costs him his job then so be it and I still feel the same. The window was a shambles. With regard to the quality of our players I think our midfield is no better than Spurs, Liverpools etc, not worse but definitely not better.

I said our squad as a whole, our midfield might be poor but our defense, including probably the best GK in the league, and attack makes our team stronger than them.

The most shocking thing is that I am not even surprised that we lost this match, half of me expected that we would lose and I knew we would lose the FA cup tie after looking at the team sheet.

There's literally no chance we'll ever read the sentence Steve Round will take over for the next few games so I think his job is safe for that alone.

Any other club and he would be out of a job in the morning.

Maybe people should think about what they're saying first.

Who the heck gets sacked for losing a semi final first leg?!?

Oh dear Moyes, maybe you should not say anything straight after the game.

Moyes seems to be testing the patience of the people in charge, and really checking how long they'll give him. 3 losses in the space of a week, even us being supposedly good in the cups is going to shit.

Agreed our squad is stronger than most but only because of DDG, our defence and attack as you have mentioned. But our midfield is embarrassingly average and it's killing us. We can't get a foothold even against the weaker teams nevermind when we come up against the big guns. But then again we have been saying this for years and still nothing has been done.

Brian McClair would be most likely to take over, if he was sacked.

It was a fairytale appointment. SAF picked him, 6 year contract and he's Scottish to boot. Fairytale stuff that was never going to plan out the way we all hoped it would.

Agreed. I said it the other day but I think both Sir Alex and the big-bods at the club have believed too much in their own hype. Hiring Mourinho, just as an example, wouldn't have been the "United way." It wouldn't have been really, but the longer United resist the realities of modern day football the more chance there is of a steep decline. Moyes represents what Busby and Ferguson were, unfortunately I just don't think the managerial ability is there to back up the 'steely Scot' longevity-backed image.

SAF did much the same a lot of the time.

Ah hah! And here-in lies the problem!

Sir Alex was a genius in man management and getting the most out of players through motivation. It's why he was able to continue winning trophies by making extremely poor decisions which most of us questioned all along the way. Under him, we'd throw the kitchen sink at teams when needed and more often than not get something out of games. Moyes lacks the respect and ability to accomplish the same thing. So now that Moyes is making all the same mistakes, it's showing through how poor those decisions have been all along.

Quite simply, United are stuck in the 90's while the modern game is passing us by both on the pitch and in the boardrooms.

P.S. Going to blaming the officials reeks of desperation from Moyes. Disappointing.

He would have been sacked in most of the big clubs after that game versus Newcastle. Rightly or wrongly we didn't and personally I don't believe that an another manager can save this season anymore. All we can do now is hope that he either improves this team from now till the end of the season or he'll get sacked in the summer. I feel though he confidently is going to the point of non-return.

A bit bad cause he seems to be a nice guy which was waiting for this dream job, and his appointment looked like a fairy tale (loyal, Scotish and so), but with each day he is pretty much confirming what was obvious to the majority of fans, that he isn't simply good enough. He has looked broken on the last 2 games. It will be a miracle if things will become beter for him. And for us.

Everything that could go wrong has I do feel for the manager but Zaha needs a chance and we need to replace Cleverley and Evra. I would have been happier getting beat if Zaha started rather than a 40 year old Giggs.

Why would players who have won everything there is to win, respect a guy who has won a grand total of feck all?

Yes, they are paid a king's ransom, and should be professional but unfortunately, it doesn't work like that.

He should never have been given the job in the first place.

For one reason or another the players aren't buying into his methods, those wankers aren't the same they used to be, something isn't right in the dressing room, i can't believe how average some of them have become.

Agree with all of that but we have never played this bad on a consistent basis. For moyes sake, I hope he buys well in the window because he has completely lost the dressing room and I cant blame the players for it.

There was one a few days ago. The people who want Moyes gone are still a small minority.

He has been blaming the officials all season (and questioning the legitimacy of the league fixtures draw before the season even started). He needs to stop with the excuses.

For all he has made mistakes - and he has, before anyone gets excited - the players should be fecking ashamed of themselves. They've let themselves down badly this season.

I agree with the content of this post but I find the poster to be sickeningly disagreeable.

That is true, they need some inspiration and the fella who used provide it is up in the stands unfortunately.

Enough about Moyes, I think the players are an absolute fecking disgrace. Where's their professional pride? 90% of them don't deserve to wear the fecking shirt.

To say that United have had to play against the officials is arguably the most disgraceful thing I've heard in a long time. The audacity to say that given United's history and the fact that even tonight Rafael was spared a red card based on the shirt for which he was playing. Scandalous.

The players look scared. Once they get in the final third they are like deers in headlights, don't know to do with it and don't want to give it away and be reasonable for the inevitable counter attack goal. They just don't seem to want to play for him or trust him.

Write a letter of complaint.

I wish the man would get fecking angry. I want to see the vein on his head about to burst from anger.
