Moyes So Far!

There's a happy medium between wanting Moyes out and trying to pretend Sir Alex left us with such dross that we should be thankful we're not mathematically relegated already.

Its an obvious thing to say, but he really doesn't have Sir Alex's presence on the touchline. It is ridiculous to expect him to, but when he was down there on the touchline for the last 10 minutes just saying "C'mon Danny/Shinji/Whoever" over and over, it obviously would have no effect. If Sir Alex was ever down on the touchline then you knew he had a reason to be, and if he was shouting at someone they would be listening and crapping themselves. Moyes is just so timid, but could he be any other way? He's never won a trophy or achieved anything close to most of our players, it's like he doesn't believe it himself that he should be managing them.

Something else I noticed, he loves to shout instructions at Danny Welbeck doesn't he, by the end of todays game it almost felt like he was shouting "fecking hell Danny do something! I'm in the shit here.".

I remember amongst all of the depression of Fergie leaving, a faint hope of being able to modernise our style of play which could hopefully make us stronger without Fergie's influence.

Then we hired Moyes.

I didn't think he was the right man but jesus, I didn't think it'd ever get this bad. 90% of other clubs would've sacked him by now. I'm concerned with how long we'll give him as it's "The United way". I'd certainly not be unhappy to wake up to the news that he'd been sacked.

Is it realistic to expect big signings when there's a good chance that one, maybe two world class players are likely off in the summer and the club is in a big transition period?

I've defended him all summer but some of things he comes out with and some of the dross we're playing, it's becoming very hard to defend him. I mean I don't know how Wilfried Zaha is doing in training but surely he can't be worse then Antonio Valencia. What's the use of Anderson, if we're not going to play. Just feck him off.

These group of players are much, much better than this.

That's what I think.

Unless there is ridiculous financial inducement, I cannot see how in a World Cup year, a top player is going to move to a side that is in crisis, with a manager whose job is under serious question.

This summer is going to be huge for United with the Rooney situation coming to the fore again and the fact that they have about seven players set to leave.

Big names at the end of their careers too. This is a massive job and it's going to take three years minimum not including the strength of rivals.

AVB got sacked for doing less worse despite losing his best player and having to integrate 5 new players in a team.

Teams aren't even playing well to win at Old Trafford.

Well I try to remain positive and keep faith that he can still turn it around but so far every time I thought the team is making progress under him the next bad phase isn't far around the corner. I just hope he can keep us in the CL a bit longer and don't go out in the first knockout round, if that were to happen I think I would be in favor for us looking for another manager come the end of the season.

He's also bought this useless trash himself so yea. Plus it wasn't his first season at Tottenham.

You fear he could be losing the dressing room, hence the positive spin he's putting on things - it's like he's trying his best to keep the players onside. I have a bad feeling that the likes or RVP aren't happy at the appointment and while they're probably acting professionally, privately there might be discussions as to how disappointed they are with how things are going. Could be complete paranoia on my part but there you go.

Say we give Moyes the boot now, then what? Who are we going to get to replace him and more importantly, who can we get that can overcome our ineptitude (seemingly) in the front office? We ship Moyes off and we still have a greenhorn chief executive in Ed Woodward who appears after this last summer to not have a clue at best, and at worst is a Glazer shill promoted to his position to make sure the bottom line takes precedent over quality on the pitch.

Good post mate. Personally though, I think he's already lost the dressing room.

Why is everyone shitting the bed so liberally over his comments to journos? He's feeding them pretty standard bullshit. We've come off the back of 25 years of Fergie, we should know better than to start crying if our manager says something about signings or plays down how bad our performance was. When did we start paying such respect to what are clearly meaningless lines to appease the papers?

I'm no talkin aboo Veron...

We replace him with Jamie Redknapp.

Every half decent club would have fired his sorry ass already.

What? It's widely known AVB had very little say in who was coming in.

How the feck am I to know, not that I give a shit about Tottenham mate. I still don't believe that he had nothing to say in those transfers, I've heard that, for example, Lamela was somehow forced on him, but shit like Soldado ? Come on.

Thank feck we're not 'every half decent club' then.

I really don't know what the answer is. I have gone through and talked about every conceivable option and listened and read everyones opinions. I still dont know what the solution is.

I'd put Giggs in charge until the end of the season. Knows the club better than anyone. Lure G. Nev onto the coaching staff. Bring Phelan back. Put Scholes in charge of the reserve team. Give Moyes, Round and Old man Lumsden the boot. See how they do.

He sits on the bench looking very knowing, and rarely gets involved when Moyes has his pow wows with Round. Smart enough to distance himself from the shambles.

From what I've heard of Giggs behind the scenes, he's a very authoritative and respected personality.

It's about time he started acting like a Manchester United manager. Regardless of reputation their are members of the squad that need a firm kick up the arse.

Rightly or wrongly I'd love for him to come out in one of these interviews and say that their are members of the squad not giving 100% and that it won't be tolerated.

It was Fergie that said that nobody is more important than the manager. Time to prove it mr Moyes!
