Moyes So Far!

Ergo, Moyes is feeling no pain because he is not used to winning?

Bazinga!

But honestly, I was shocked when Dave was appointed in the summer for this very reason. He's not a natural born winner. I just don't see anything there that shouts United. I hope he proves me wrong, but I stand by my statements in the Summer, it was a baffling appointment.

Scottish and withstood the harsh winters...Makes him brave and a man of steel..Apparently

It's the stereotypical United manager so not that baffling. Ron bloody Atkinson is more baffling

Things like continuing to put Rio Ferdinand in the team despite his shit poor performance levels and public displays of bellendery are what puts doubt in my mind over Moyes.

It makes you wonder whether its the player's performance or the player's ego that's having the deciding factor. In fact ther eis nothing to wonder about it as nothing about Rio's performance puts him anywhere near a United squad atm.

It's virtually a dead rubber. A chance for Rio to get some mins. Rio hasn't featured in a lot of significant games since the start of the season.

What's the idea behind a defence with a revolving door? Fergie was guilty of it too but the young players are more experienced now and Rio is definitely passed it. How can you expect a defence to develop any kind of understanding or perform anywhere near what you'd expect of a top defence if it changes every match? How?

People calling this one a near enough dead rubber, need to remember if we come 2nd in the group we'll be in a severe world of pain in the next round!

Maybe links to what I posted just now; that maybe it isn't a clear direction that he wants the team to play it wide and cross it. It could be that our team has such a lack of ability in the middle of the park, they pass it sideways and backwards. If your CM's pass it sideways only, they effectively act as a wall down the middle. And with players like Valencia, if they get the ball they only know one thing that is to go down the wing and cross. He isn't going to cut in side, play quick one touch moves with Rooney to get in without scoring. We do see a lot more of this on the other side though, because Evra is more comfortable building up play without simply crossing, and our left wingers like to roam more in Nani and Januzaj.

I can understand why someone wouldn't see it like me, and I could well be wrong. I just think if Moyes' strategy was inherently to run down the wing and cross, he would have put Januzaj on the right and Nani on the left against Newcastle.

You could be right mate. Just don't think there is any format to our play. Don't see any pattern.

Just found it an interesting observation from the guy. The stats from nev and carra were scary

Aye. Completely agree. Still hoping things will start to fall into place but time is running out!

Did Chiles just say "Sir Alex" wasn't enjoying the job, meaning Moyes as the camera showed him on the bench! Whoops.

This one feels similar to the last 2 games...chances to go 1-0 up, bungled them, and could easily become a loss.

For better or for worse, this result buys him a little bit of breathing space after the shambles that was last week.

Now's the time to go on a run. Rafael, Rooney and van Persie all fit.

The teams we've beaten in our CL group are better than the likes of Cardiff, Southampton and West Brom. It was a potentially tricky group so at least Moyes has done something right.

Looks like a half time team talk may have actually worked for once. Instead of pretending we were comfortable we actually pushed on to win the game, and still went looking for a second after. Well done for not using your dumb ass tactics like the last two. Although bringing on Valencia to put Rafael at LB was a brainfart moment, no Fabio?

The tempo has been quite slow in most of our CL games. PL teams tend to come at us, like Shaktar did for a half, and Moyes doesn't have the tactical nous or the personnel to deal with it.

All his subs tonight were spot on. And it made an instant impact. In fact for a brief period before the goal we were playing some real, proper, actual football. Largely because we had some actual proper footballers on the pitch. If that's the way we were trying to play, but failing, for the last 6 months I wouldn't have had any problems with Moyes.

Obviously we stopped playing well almost as soon as we scored and were a bit shit again for the last 20 minutes, but hey ho.

The crowd were fantastic to him.

You're only allowed to bring on players who are on the bench.

Poor game, but not an issue, was a job to be done, and we got it done.

Looking forward to Villa at the weekend. A league win will massively lift morale, after 4 without one!

First 45 mins was as bad as the last 3 games.

I still cant see what he is trying to do with this team. What's the plan? Still so painfully slow.

Finally, what the feck are we doing starting Ashley Young. There is absolutely nothing to be gained. Just a disappointment. May as well give Zaha a shot

Got the result, that was all that mattered tonight.

Get back to winning ways again in the league and try to put the last few results behind us.
