Moyes So Far!

I'm starting to lose the faith now too, but seriously, some of the basic mistakes, eg three yard passes, that numerous players keep messing up is beyond belief. something is seriously not right.

This is the first bad result where I don't think he's made any obvious errors. Which, perhaps perversely, suggests to me for the first time that maybe he should go. The players just aren't interested in playing for him, at all.

This is similar to 2001, very similar expect that we had a great manager then.

It wouldn't surprise me if Moyes is starting to seriously consider resignation. He's looking more and more frazzled with every week.

Well the bars pretty low at the moment so....

But honestly if I found out he had been sacked come tomorrow I don't think I would care too much, after Everton I pretty much lost any faith in him and today just condemned him further. I don't even care who else comes in anything would be an improvement.

I feel just about the same, I think for another manager to do worse than him, it'll take some doing.

Dire. Giving him time is the worst thing we could do. Looks as bad as Hodgson I'm afraid.

It's now at a point where I just feel very very sorry for David Moyes. He's obviously a good guy, he's obviously a good manager and has been for many years, but its just not working. The players clearly either don't care, or aren't buying into Moyes' regime. And to be perfectly honest, it was ridiculous giving such a monumental job to such a vastly inexperienced manager at this level.

He needs money to make it his team. What's the point of appointing him and not having the balls to back him in the transfer market? Touch and go if he lasts the whole season though.

Don't agree with that and in all honesty giving this guy money after seeing him spunk almost 30m on Fellaini is worrying.

Apart from the subs that didn't change anything about the way we were playing whatsoever?

Sadly I dont see anything getting better... Moyes is out of his depth...
I always wanted to give him a chance but I dont see us getting better..

He'll be getting a few more games but I can't see him lasting the season. Awful, awful season so far.

A few more games and any slim chance we have of 4th is gone.

We have absolutely nothing to lose at this stage by letting him go. I hate to see it happen to Moyes because he is such a genuinely decent guy but the sad fact is he clearly isn't up to it.

I think the players should take a chunk of the blame also..... Change of manager and you can't even do the simple things as a pro footballer... Can't blame the manager for that

Petestorey and Glaston have won. They were laughed at with their predictions, but the Evertonization has been completed.

Turns out we are the Muppets... :(

This is the solution. For a mediocre manager we should drop all the players who contributed and won a lot of titles for United.

I don't give a feck how many titles they've won and neither should they, they're not trying and it's pathetic.

To quote Malcolm Tucker.

"The PM is not going to sack you after a week. Sacked after twelve months, looks like you've fecked up. Sacked after a week, looks like he's fecked up."

He will ride this through on the promise of improvement, transistion and any other cliche there is in football, but the patience is beginning to wear thin now even to the most toppest of reds.

You cannot complain about the squad when you spend best part of £30m on someone sat on his arse playing with his mobile.

This is Fergie's team minus an aging midfielder - PLUS big money signing Fellaini, PLUS Zaha, PLUS Januzaj

We're not in this position because we failed to sign more in the summer.

I don't really know what he could have done today, with the resources we have that was the best team he could put out. Their goal was from a lucky break with Evra's header bouncing of their player. Our problem was simply midfield, it had issues with Carrick and without him it's lost any ability to play a penetrative pass, only so much the attackers can do. Plus additionally the loss or Rooney with RVP clearly not being sharp was an issue.

Only thing you could really say Moyes is the again lack of urgency from the team but then you should look at the players for that and that's been an issue for a while.

Its not just about today. Look at it from the time he took over. We didnt have a great preseason by our standards. On top of that, we wasted two months and didnt sign one player who could actually make a difference to our side given the fact that if Carrick is injured, we are fecked and that is exactly what has happened. He is starting to lose the dressing room I feel like some have said already. I dont think there is any excuse for losing home games to anyone let alone two in a row.

Before Ferguson retired and we used to contemplate 'life after Ferguson', I couldn't have envisaged this. Lack of positive results aside, it's how poorly the transition has been managed that is truly shocking. Not only did we appoint a manager who lacks experience at this level but we left it open for him to completely tear out the foundations of the team by sacking the coaching staff that SAF had put together. All this along with the departure of Gill and the shambles of our transfer endeavours make us a laughing stock.

You're not serious, aren't you?

I don't think we will finish outside the top 4.
Can you honestly say with 100% conviction we can be guaranteed top 4? I have been confident up until now that we are in serious danger of not making it. Really worrying times.

Nothing is a 100% certain. But Arse clawed back 12+ points against Spurs. Chelsea came back from crap to finish in the top 4.

We aren't that far behind liverpool/spurs and I think we will finish in the top 4 easily. The title is as good as gone..

Settling for top 4 isnt ideal.. But there is no need to get the pitchforks out.

Just makes you appreciate what Fergie did. Moyes needs a couple of players and some time.. and a break. It'll fall together for him soon

Why does he so badly need to make it "his" team though? Mourinho hasn't made Chelsea his own. They've both already got very good teams, particularly Moyes.

Possibly, but Chelsea are hardly looking like world beaters. But yeah, I can't argue with that, suppose it just comes down to patience...I'm just not panicking yet.

Same. Everton was the day my gut started changing. I honestly think we have played some of our best football in these two games believe it or not. Starting to worry.

I did too, but I still put in some belief that we can turn it around starting today. We failed to even do that, and have now lost 1-0 twice against teams not even in the top four, both done at home. That was a sentence I thought I would never see being said about United. Shambles right now.

He simply has to go.....please fergie come back till the end of the season....moyes has spent a career getting results through defensive tactics...now that he has to play offensive tactics he hasn't a clue and has to be sacked...theres still hope of a top 4 finish if we sack him asap

I'm probably one of the few at the moment but I feel sorry for him. He's new to a job (albeit a very big one) and he's got to be given time to adapt to it. The one constant there is the players but they just don't look interested at all. He gets a few things wrong with tactics but he is learning and it's going to take him time for him to do that, he needs help from somewhere and watching that and the Everton game the players aren't performing at all. The only ones this season who look interested are De Gea, Jones, Rooney, Giggs and Januzaj, the rest have shown nothing at all.
It's not just the players, the board are hiding behind is failure to and avoid criticism, the whole transfer window was a mess. He obviously really wanted Baines and that was a big blow for him due to how creative he was at Everton and how lazy Evra has been this season, that would of been a smart transfer but it didn't happen, I'd imagine he wanted another centre midfielder to but that didn't happen and from what you read it seems the board made a mess of that one as well.
I hope and am sure we will stick with him, he needs to be backed not slated. It's transition and we've had a lot of success. There will be opinions that some of our players aren't good enough (Cleverley, Nani, Anderson being 3 examples) yet they've stuck around for years. The midfield has been a problem for about 4 years now, Moyes has been here 6 months, it should of been addressed ages ago, instead it's been ignored and now Moyes is expected to pick up the slack and make everything perfect in 6 months? It's not going to happen.
There's quality in the squad, the bare 11 is good enough to win a league but other than that there really isn't much, Fergie worked with it but he was one of the best ever. Moyes isn't. I think the biggest problem he created for himself was getting rid of all the staff, other than that he seems to have inherited quite a lot of shit.

It's a small sample size, but his purchase of Fellaini terrifies me of what we could become with "his team."

Zaha on for Nani really was criminal. Also Valencia on for Rafael again. Absolutely pointless.

Ppl seem to be forgetting how influential the loss of Carrick has been. Fergie escaped that problem for years but weve always known we'd be in trouble should he have got injured.

Its Fergies fault we didn't have that backup, Woodwards fault we didn't strengthen. Both have made it very difficult for Moyes and I'm not sure any other manager including Fergie would have coped any better

People talk about his potential but the only potential I see is that, given time, he could do a Souness here.

The longer he stays the more damage he will do long term. People can talk about principles all they want but that's what will happen. He is so out of his depth it's not even funny.

Agreed, Moyes is out of his depth - its so blatently obvious. But ofcourse any mention of him getting the sack is met with disdain amongst the TOP RED here, so whats the point.

He aint getting sacked - we're stuck with him for this season anyway.

He never had the credentials to manage a top team.
He's negative, he needed time to get to know his squad in the summer.. and then the joke of our summer transfer activity occurred, he's taken the champions to 9th(?), our players have lost form, our players have no faith in him, we have no fight or creativity and we're losing games.

Why do we have to give someone so clueless time to "adapt" or "grow" at our club whilst he's shown zero signs of actually being able to do so.

At what point would you think it's acceptable to start blaming the manager for taking last season champions into the bottom half of the table?

Again, I'm just asking.....for a friend
Until he signs 11 fellainis and finally makes this team his own.

I got called a consumer for complaining about our loss to Everton, I'm not a Moyes apologist. His subs were wrong, Ando should've come on for Phil 'no way do I pass or move like a midfielder' Jones when we were chasing the game, and Nani>Zaha easily. However, we should've had two penalties and nobody could've anticipated Evra's brainfart and the way Cabaye didn't even have to work to score.

Today's loss wasn't all about David Moyes. Liverpool? Yeah. City? Mostly yeah. West Brom? Yeah and so on. But not today.

Do I think he's the right man for the job? Never did. But I wont blame him if I dont think he's culpable. We should never have conceded as we did and we should've and would've been ahead by then anyway if the ref did his job.

Do feck off.
