Moyes So Far!

It's on the players right now, I'd fecking drop all the senior ones bar Rooney. Pathetic. No one showing for the ball and giving impetus is down to the players, Januzaj was the only guy looking to make things happen.

I think he'll do better. There is more to the abject displays than Moyes being shit.

He needs money to make it his team. What's the point of appointing him and not having the balls to back him in the transfer market? Touch and go if he lasts the whole season though.

Yes, and I ain't even blaming him for today.

At what point would you think it's acceptable to start blaming the manager for taking last season champions into the bottom half of the table?

Again, I'm just asking.....for a friend

My head says give him time, it's far too early to sack someone but I have so little faith he'll reach a suitable standard, even if he gets better from here. Someone needs to give him a kick up the backside.

Way too early.
What's the worse that could happen? We'd finish outside the top 4? I don't think we will..

He needs a midfielder.. and a left back.

Can you honestly say with 100% conviction we can be guaranteed top 4? I have been confident up until now that we are in serious danger of not making it. Really worrying times.

I can't see him being sacked this season. Especially with Ferguson and Bobby in the directors office.

I think Im done. I have stuck with Moyes even though I was skeptical at first to give the man a chance. But he is certainly out of his depth at United. He has had a full preseason and 20 games into the season to prove his worth and I dont think he has. At this rate we wont even make the Champions League, which in all aspects would be absolutely disastrous from every angle.

"They are coming to Old Trafford and we will make it as hard and as difficult for them as possible."

at least you tried to make it hard for them moysey, but that's life lol hehe fair play

If we were playing good exciting football but not getting the results then I'd be a hell of a lot more tolerant to this situation.

Why does he so badly need to make it "his" team though? Mourinho hasn't made Chelsea his own. They've both already got very good teams, particularly Moyes.

Everyone expected a period of transition but this is awful.

This is a failed transition, and when teams reach that point the players just stop trying anymore because they know the manager is taking all the blame.

Moyes is better than this and the players are better than this, replacing saf was always going to be difficult but we made a huge mistake not going for a top manager that doesn't need to prove himself to the players.

He looks lost and out of his depth. I think we can rule out Champions League football next season.

At what point would you think it's acceptable to start blaming the manager for taking last season champions into the bottom half of the table?

6 years, you know Fergie, now Moyes, who is like Fergie, a bit more shit, and much less succesful. But 6 years, blah blah blah, my head hurts.

We used to win tight games we possibly didn't deserve to win under Fergie.

We now lose tight games that we don't necessarily deserve to lose under Moyes.

Huge change in mindset, and that transmits to the players, unfortunately.

People talk about his potential but the only potential I see is that, given time, he could do a Souness here.

The longer he stays the more damage he will do long term. People can talk about principles all they want but that's what will happen. He is so out of his depth it's not even funny.

Sacking him now can make things worse ?
Well the bars pretty low at the moment so....

But honestly if I found out he had been sacked come tomorrow I don't think I would care too much, after Everton I pretty much lost any faith in him and today just condemned him further. I don't even care who else comes in anything would be an improvement.

Same. Everton was the day my gut started changing. I honestly think we have played some of our best football in these two games believe it or not. Starting to worry.

Don't expect him to resign. He's sitting pretty protected by an endless contract. If he leaves United where will he go??

I've always said it. The role is difficult enough, anyone signing for it should have given a 3 year contract max.
Rubbish. You think they gave him a 7 year contract free of clauses? Pardew doesn't have that. If he is fired he gets 12 months worth of wages. Moyes is the same. Ludicrous business decision to otherwise. Not something the people running this club would do.

I don't really know what he could have done today, with the resources we have that was the best team he could put out. Their goal was from a lucky break with Evra's header bouncing of their player. Our problem was simply midfield, it had issues with Carrick and without him it's lost any ability to play a penetrative pass, only so much the attackers can do. Plus additionally the loss or Rooney with RVP clearly not being sharp was an issue.

Only thing you could really say Moyes is the again lack of urgency from the team but then you should look at the players for that and that's been an issue for a while.

It's Moyes out for me now - I thought we improved, but these last 2 games have been awful and now he needs to go Before our entire season is ruined.

He has lost the dressing room IMO, the players just don't care one bit. Can't kick out all the players... sadly the manager has to go. Shades of the AVB situation at Chelsea IMO.

I can't see it. He seems totally devoid of ideas, well any goo ones anyway. Hopefully you're right.

His transfer targets in the summer tell me his ideas are in the right direction. We need major investment in Jan and if he can't turn it around by end of the season then he'll be gone

This is the solution. For a mediocre manager we should drop all the players who contributed and won a lot of titles for United.

Very worried that he has lost the players after this performance. We visibly gave up in the end. It was shocking.

Tactics were appalling too. Such huge gaps between midfield and attack. We absolutely were terrible and it's shocking how little possession we get these days. So much wrong with the shape and attacking style of the team. We didn't create a single decent chance from open play.

Well he succeeded to turn United into Everton with bringing most of the staff with him. There were a reason why all the staff at Everton were at Everton and not any of the top teams in the World.

Could be completely wrong. Thing is majority of fans wanted Fergie out and all, that was four seasons into his reign. Moyes, who...yeah may turn out to be a disaster...has only had half a year. Surely that's just not long enough...

I honestly hope you are right.

I posed the question a couple of months ago, and did not really get an answer. Surely, there must be some sort of means to assess Moyes work this season. I'm not having 'we knew it would be tough this season'. There still has to be a realistic expectations in terms of what is good enough for Moyes. We don't need to judge him by what is good enough for Fergie, but there must be a line by where it isn't good enough, even for Moyes. Wherever that line is, I suspect he's perilously close to it.
