Moyes So Far!

Very good comments from Moyes, impressed.

Listening to his comments on MUTV and he isn't happy, fair play to him, he isn't trying to paper over the performance. To be honest he has been left with a not as good squad as he thought he was getting. You wonder what Sir Alex told him about the players. Probably told him Tom was going to be the best midfielder in the country.

The next couple of transfer windows are key for the club, that much is clear. But I'm seeing the problems of flawed or aging players no longer being masked by RVPs goals. Any problems we have now have been building for a few years. It's not the fecking tactics, thats for sure. It'd be easier if it was. But I guess it's easier to blame the manager than the players who are not performing.

Agree with that. Over the last few years teams have been pressing us far better and we've struggled at times to impose ourselves and been rescued by our strikers and some last minute goals. SAF saw we were coming predictable and bought Kagawa seemingly to try and give us more centrally, but then RvP became available and that experiment pretty much got abandoned before it was given a chance to settle in.

Heard it again now and Moyes seem unhappy with Welbeck's miss when we were 2-1 up. That might cost Welbeck a place in the team in the next few weeks.

It bothers me that we might lose an excellent striker because he's being subbed off for a 40 year old. Hernandez needs games to get momentum but to be taken off when we need goals is an insult.

He's not blameless, but we should have strengthened much more than we have over the past few years. We have some good players who just aren't exceptional players. And a good team needs more exceptional players than we have, to become an exceptional team.

Our midfield is as much Sir Alex's fault as David Moyes. He let it stagnate and now other teams know we are desperate.

The worrying thing is we're not seeing improvement. We're not even seeing him try to bolster the midfield by changing our shape. Its the same shit every week and we're conceding goals like never before.
I agree. I really hope it starts improving soon. If we're working on our football in training, it's definitely not showing. We look clueless on the pitch and devoid of any particular tactic right now.

That's your complaint from today? The 40 year old gave us more than Hernandez did in the game!

And what's your lineup/tactics that would have been better? And "finish better, defend better" is not a tactic!

Play Anderson? Play Giggs? fecking hell.

The transfer window is a black mark against Moyes (and Woodward) no doubt. But I'm not see any different tactics than we would have had from Fergie last year. What we have seen is injuries to key players like Carrick, Rafael and RVP, Rio losing it, middle-ranking players like Cleverly and Welbeck seemingly not progressing at all.
We had loads of performances like this last season, but RVP would do the business and all would be well.

Agree with most of it. Although our lack of a pressing game, and general lack of movement can also be attributet to the manager.

If he started Giggs today that would have meant Anderson and Cleverley away to Leverkusen.

Shit, forgot about the Fellaini suspension. Good God. The horror, the horror.

The truest words he has spoken since he came here was about our lack of World Class talent, and that we need a few to go straight into the first-team.

Its not only about who started the game though, its about our style of play, our tactics, and so far Moyes has been bad we just seem to be playing on last years steam nothing new from Moyes to the team what so ever if anything we just look even more boring and slow.

Moyes has been found out.

fking hipsters.

I don't know. I'm not the manager. It's his job to get the team to play well. We consistently both look technically and tactically worse than we should. Players don't seem to have enough options to play the ball and were way too static. On the other hand, a team with players of very good technical ability consistently don't look that comfortable on the ball as they should. These are all things Moyes is paid to work on. So he'll be judged on it. And before anyone starts out on the "he inherited a shit team" crap, it's a quality squad, and he had the summer to fix any weaknesses.

Yeah yeah, Welbeck was a great finisher last season, Cleverly was a passing machine, Valencia was a crossing master, Hernandez was great outside the box. It's amazing how these players have regressed. Must be the coaches fault!

Gotta say, for all we bemoan squad imbalance, we should be playing better than this. Everton don't exactly have a world class set of players, but they were magnificent yesterday against Liverpool. Kept the ball, found spaces to attack and created chances throughout.

We all agree that Fergie didn't have it right last year with the performances, but I've seen not a single 90 minutes this year that indicates Moyes is moving us in the right direction. And in the end, that is his job.

The way we're playing I think it's more to do with personnel than tactics. I'm not even going to lie I think Everton played better football last season than we're playing at the moment. I saw them absolutely dominate teams last year. I haven't really seen that this year. We're playing pretty similarly to last year in terms of not killing of games.
Problem is too many squad players.

People keep saying this and make it sound like Moyes is telling the team to go out and play boring football. Getting a team to start playing attractive football isn't an easy thing to do. Even SAF went through multiple seasons of not the most inspiring football. It's certainly not something you can start doing 3-4 months into the job, especially when you have such a shit transfer window. Will take time.

While you can take solace in your fantasy world. hipsters. :wenger:

And on the contrary it was an excellent weekend, sporting wise.

Was it? Why the feck would I care about anything in sport besides United? If they don't win it's never a good sporting weekend.

I love Hernandez, but he was doing nothing in that second half.

All the big games we've won (Arsenal at home, Liverpool at home) have been 1-0's.

I don't know if he still think this is Everton but he needs to wake up.

Not sure what you're on about. Just because fergie was lagging in some areas in his latter years, his successor shouldn't follow suit. Because he sure as hell isn't going to make up for it with as strengths as strong as fergie.

The "it's all down to the players" is clearly ignorant too. Managers and coaches are important for a reason. You should recognize that.

Yeah, 1-0 wins are a fecking disgrace. Under Fergie we won every game 5-0. Moyes Out!

Ha ha. Bad weekend for you, you haven't even got Dortmund to fall back on.

:lol: Blind as well as retarded. It was a good weekend for ME, contrary to what you suggested. I dont really care how your weekend went tbh.

All said and done, the team was hit by injuries right now. RvP, Carrick, Vidic, Rafael, Jones. That's like 5 first teamers out at the same time!

And then the epic levels that Valencia and Rio have fallen to. Yes, Moyes should have done better in the transfer window, but you need to have some perspective as well regarding todays match. He had to desperately rotate keeping the midweek match in mind, as that is more important to win. I agree the 2nd half was very lax, and the players should have put in more effort, but to blame it on the manager. Naah!

I don't know who the feck you are. Can't say I wish to find out.

Fergie's final few seasons shouldn't be a barometer to judge our performances by as we played some tedious shit in that time too. We were a functional team rather than an exciting one, and we seem to be losing the functional bit as well. It's strange, we're on a ten game unbeaten run and I'm worried, can't remember the last time this happened.
