I know, less so nowadays.
Maybe it's just the old ones then, like my sister. She actually broke her wrist playing Lady Macbeth and she blamed that on her referring to the play by name before the performance.

City are playing much better than us at the moment, tho. Even without taking into account the derby victory. With that said if City finish outside the top 4 believe me Pellegrini won't start next season with them...Neither has Pellegrini.
So, he was still fired.
He's had 8 games and I see no sign that he has learned or adapted. Any sign.
I always laugh when people bring out the "We're Man Utd-fecking Nited, we're massive, we're above all of you, every player/manager in the world would jump at the chance to play here", despite the fact that, in the last few years, that hasn't been the case, at all.
With a MUCH better team athan Moyes. He's been rather lucky in his career.
I agree to an extent, but we have a history of playing in a certain way with a certain type of player. We aren't doing that. People are talking about Klopp and his philosophy with Dortmund, I just hope the way we are playing is not the David Moyes philosophy. I would have hoped he knew how the fans want their team to play.
What?
You know the reason he got the Madrid job right? He turned a small club like Villarreal into a club that reached the semi-finals of champions league and finish above Barca. Villarreal have gone downhill since then.
He did exceptionally well at Malaga last season considering players weren't getting paid.
Pellegrini had least has Real Madrid on his CV, it commands more respect than Everton.
Yes. But have it your way, I'm sure he can keep achieving with his side that are a feeder club to their only league rivals.

We haven't played great football since 06/07, why does everyone think certain managers could just come in here and make us suddenly start doing that again? Do people forget how crappily we played last season under SAF?
People conveniently like to think the fact that he took over a mid-table Villarreal side and got them into the Champions League, broke the Real/Barca monopoly to come 2nd in 2008 and got them to the semis of the Champions League as well. Getting them into the top 4 was probably easier than it was for Moyes, but getting them to the semi-finals of the competition and finishing in 2nd place was superb and exceeds what Moyes did at Everton.
Hes obviously adapting. Has he been playing two flair wingers in his earlier games? NO. He has been changing his approach continuously, based on results and player performances. Do you expect a manager to know his best team and approach after 8 games? fecks sake.
If Moyes cant get a CL spot by the end of the season things dont look good for him. But I expect him to get at least this whole season to make the team function properly. If he ends up having a really poor first half of the season but turn things around points and play wise in the second half yet still miss out on top 4 I also expect him to keep the job for another season.
How many titles since 06/07? How many European Cup finals? Come one mate, you're really tilting at windmills with that comment.
Indeed, all these elements added can make players respect one coach more than another. We're talking about the highest level with players who know the meaning of winning trophies, the coach has to have that same experience and mentality.

I'm pretty sure you're just completely misinterpreting my point.
What your highlighting is the fact that he has a hell of lot more on his CV than Moyes, with that comes a lot of experience and I'm not sure Moyes should face criticism for that....just that his tactics seem so much more 'safe' than need be at Utd
However he does have a massive budget compared to Moyes
The sooner he's sacked the better, I wouldn't let him spend a penny in January.
If someone like Klopp suddenly became available, would you want Moyes out this early into his Man United career?
But then the question has to be asked of why we appointed someone who lacked that experience for such a massive job?

But there is no aspect to the play that suggests Moyes is improving anything! He's relying on an 18 year old as some kind of Messiah while ignoring the likes of Kagawa and Zaha. Does anyone think that Zaha isn't as good as Januzaj?
He had ample time to bring in new players and yet contradicted himself by first saying he was happy with the squad he inherited and then saying we needed substantial strengthening. Do you seriously believe in Moyes?
Exchange a manager with a brilliant track record for an under-qualified Fergie crony who's achieved nothing and made the worst possible start?
That's a tough one. Let me think... ponders....scratches head.....tosses and turns...
Yes.

Not only that, but why United went against their stated policy of appointing someone with European experience. But, as another poster said, that was down to Fergie putting Moyes forward.
Unless it's on Leighton Baines?
No need for recriminations - David Moyes is out of his depth. I backed him when we lost at Anfield & Etihad. I agreed with him when he opined United have had a very tough fixture list. Today's game should be 3 points in our favour as it's one of the easy fixtures United would normally win. However, we lost against West Brom at OT & dropped another 2 points today - that's very poor by our standard.
Moyes' small time mentality does not fit into our DNA - he has no spinal cord to make positive changes in a game & his substitutions have been very poor. I hope he gets sacked by Christmas.
Would things have been different if he had kept the coaching staff?

You are just complaining for the sake of complaining when you criticize the use of Januzaj. He was a good offensive outlet tonight. He has shown more on the wing than Kagawa ever has for us. Kagawa obviously dont fit in the classic wing position for United, and has performed poorly even when allowed to come inside and play a more narrow wing role. How he compares to Zaha no one knows, but there is no reason to believe Zaha would do better than either Januzaj or Nani, who were both good tonight.
I dont believe 100% in Moyes. I didnt want him in the first place. But hes shown signs of trying to change up things that arent working and work towards finding a best first 11. I really dont see how you can say that he isnt adapting.. Hes been changing it up every game. If he was still sticking to Young and Valencia Id agree, but he doesnt. He has changed to our better wingers. In the CM he really doesnt have much choice with Cleverley injured however poor Fellaini is at CM. Anderson is the only option, and a poor one.
I really disliked his extremely negative sub of Rooney for Smalling though. SAF never did shit like that. It is punished when the opponent scores like todays and we are left with little offensive creativity.

Some don't, what's your point? Very profound but has no bearing on this debate
I'm not criticising Januzaj - I'm saying IMO Zaha is just as good. And Moyes' subs today were mental. Ok, make those subs but not until we're 2-0 up?
He had ample time to make a central midfielder signing that would have been better than Fellaini. And let's see what he does with Nani, because he ain't gonna deliver the consistency that Moyes's management style would require.
