This legendary 'scouting network' he's brought with him sounds hilarious considering his top-secret targets include elusive names like Kroos, Cavani, Gundogan and Fabregas. Doing a top 20 search on FIFA/Football manager would return the same results

If the current trend of Moyes' results keep up and he is still there this summer..I wonder what kind of impact that would have on season ticket sales which haven't always been as easy to shift with current prices.

The fact the club had to deny sacking him yesterday is telling, this will only lower morale further too. I still maintain this won't get any prettier. I'd imagine the player's are saving themselves for the world cup now at this stage, we've twelve dead rubbers coming up for Moyes to save his job, if some of the media is to be believed. Moyes could find himself in serious shit.

Let's hope so. The more negative press the better, I've found the free-ride he's getting in the media along with stories of his job being secure to be excruciatingly frustrating.

I still think he'll survive 'til Christmas... But then again I expect us to lose a third of our remaining games, which could be enough to force the Glazer's into acting. Moyes will have lost all support by then, excluding Ferguson. Although this implementation of new scouting system with iPads might suggest to me he's going nowhere for the foreseeable future, even if we lose all twelve remaining games.

What's to stop us from keeping his ipad scouting system and telling him thanks very much but feck off. I mean he hasn't patented it has he, if he has then he's welcome to keep his amazing FM scouting network.

You lost out on those players becase of money, not because of a lack of CL football.

Not true actually, we offered more money to Mkhitaryan than Dortmund did, he clearly stated that he opted for Dortmund though because they were in the CL and of better rank at the time.

Costa and Willian the same thing, we met both of their release clauses, Salah was the only one we missed out on due to not matching the players fee.

Great video. Just shows you that the problem we have is not really with the quality of the players, but the tactics and the game plan..

It looks like our players are just programmed to go to the byline, and cross at the first chance they get to do so.

It also shows me that Kagawa is a pretty intelligent player, and will be a shame to lose him in the Summer.
That video makes scary viewing. That said, I don't believe that Moyes has forbidden Rooney from playing a 10 yard pass into a free Kagawa. He was hitting it long and wide well before Moyes got here.

I think the issue is the assembly of 'British-style' players we have gathered, whom the passes highlighted by the red arrow in that video do not come naturally to.

I'm not relying on Rooney to discover that pass to be honest. That's why we appoint a manger, to tell him to do that.

Only Spurs had permission to speak to Willian, not Liverpool.

Also, my recollection is that Liverpool did not wish to pay the 27m euros or whatever for Mkhitaryan. Liverpool may have offered a better wage, I don't know. The figures being touted for their Costa 'bid' was also about £20m-£25m, not the £32m release clause.

The issue with Mkhitaryan wasn't the fee, we matched the fee, it was him personally who opted for Dortmund. We also matched Costas release clause as well, which wasn't £32 million. The clause before was actually mentioned as 21.8 million, the 32 million being bandied about now is after he signed his contract in the summer.

'Welcome to Liverpool, we are able to offer relatively low wages, no Champions League football. We also have sub standard stadia and training facilities. Looking to the short to medium term we have little scope to join the European big money leagues so consistently competing for big pots is not something we can guarantee, now if you could just put your signature here...........................'

Fair enough.

He's still added to the squad that were reigning champions by a country mile.

It's his own fault he panicked into buying Fellaini instead of a proper midfielder. I doubt we would be much better off with him injury free this season, in fact the win against Palace was the first we've won in the league with him starting. Imagine that!

Now, my point being this: I wouldn't trust him with significant funds this summer, based on what he's shown himself to stand for as a manager.

I would rather say the opposite - apart from Fellaini, the players he seems to go after are exactly the kind of players we need (if rumours are to be believed)

Kroos, Fabregas, Shaw - and Mata

Yes, but on Football manager the top 20 results wouldn't give you Aaron Lennon, so you see, it is worth it.

@CheshireDave from the newbs seems to disagree with your post by the way. Sent me this PM:

Talking a load of bollocks even as a City fan I can see he's talking nonsense. Tell him its strange to compare United/Liverpool going in for players without Champions League football when its been evident over the past few years Liverpool struggle to close deals worth north of £15m. He's also making up a load of tosh about Mkhtaryan/Willian. They never even had permission to speak to either of them nor Costa.
Just a load of hot air.
Ask him for Links from sources.

If I didn't take your word on the 'facts' you informed me of, I wouldn't disagree with him myself too much. Actually, you have recently signed Downing, Suarez, Carroll and Henderson for north of £15m, although to be fair, there was no competition for them as such.

There seems to have been a slight but definite shift in the club's position in the last 24 hours (based on what has been reported in the press as a result of what appear to be off the record briefings). They are still maintaining that they expect Moyes to be here to oversee the summer revamp BUT there are now hints that this position could be reviewed if performances continue their downward spiral for the rest of the season. Previously, that notion had not even been entertained.

As for Moyes's secret bunker, that appears to be a pretty desperate attempt by PR to draw parallels with Fergie's early years (poor performances mitigated by impressive behind the scenes work). Instead it just conjures "Downfall" images.

So we've signed Lennon ?

feck me, must've missed it somewhere.

Well, people are giving credit to Moyes for identifying Kroos, Cavani, Vidal etc based on rumours. The latest rumour is that we are going after Lennon.

If we judge on what we have signed we have signed Fellaini (a total disaster IMO) and Mata (an excellent purchase if Moyes know how to play it).

Articles linking United to well known players get far more attention than articles linking United to lesser known players. In fact the majority of the time when a big club signs a lesser known player it happens seemingly out of the blue. The press don't know shit really.

The 'city' fan seems a bit bitter, why is he so angry lol?

Mkhitarayan said that he rejected us out of his own mouth.

Also i was about to follow up my post with United still being in a better position to sign players than we were previously, given that you would only be one season out of the CL, and have a great stadium and more resources etc. That said there would still be players that would be out of your reach, due to the fact f other teams being in CL football and also being able to offer the same incentives you do.

Well I suppose we'll see what hidden gems Moyes unearths this summer....actually I'd rather he's not given the chance but its intriguing nonetheless.

If Moyes goes before the summer then I still think it's good that we've modernized and extended our approach to scouting. It might be the best thing Moyes has done. Whichever manager we have come the next transfer windows will benefit from it.

He has locked himself in his transfer cupboard for the past 24hrs, hooked up his Ipad to his scouting satellites, fired up power point and summoned the power of the rain Gods with a tributary dance. He emerged from his cupboard this morning looking disheveled and handed a piece of paper to Steve Round that contained just two words:

'AARON LENNON'

The revolution has begun!

We offered more money to mhkitayan and Costa than dortmund and Madrid did.

Also please stop posting nonsense from newbies. There is a reason they are newbies.

I have to post this video. Just shows everything thats wrong with the gameplan, tactics and ethos of the team

Thanks for that vid. Not sure that enjoy is quite the right word but it was interesting to see how often players were completely blind to the short pass to a man in space. It was evident that many of the players' first instinct is to look for a pass out wide (not just Rooney). As for Young crossing the ball without bothering to look whether we had players in the box, or the type of runs they were making, all rather predictable.

Calling him a cnut is a bit childish, but I wouldn't say that qualifies as hatred.

He certainly is a disaster though.

I can't stand the boggle eyed cnut. He's a fecking disater and has turned us into a joke. United is a release from everyday mundane life and Moyes has fecking ruined it. The anti-football he has us playing is the worst part of it all. I can handle losing if we play decent stuff but the shit this cnut has had us churning out ALL season is nothing short of pathetic

The sooner this loser is bounced out of our great club the better. And dont get me started on the twats he brought with him from fecking Everton.

honest question- do you not think that Fergie deliberately didn't want enter bidding wars?

I feel that he set a budget for each target and if deal exceed that he would have pulled out.

Maybe, but do we really know that? Fergie spent 30m for Berbatov. And long prior to that 30m for Rooney and Rio each. 20m for De Gea and 24m for RvP. Something like 18m for Jones and Smalling each. 18m for Young and 15-17m for Valencia. Low 20s I think for Hargreaves. So I'm not convinced Fergie had an aversion to spending big for a player he badly wanted. In fact, I submit that Fergie had no problem spending big whatsoever, given the evidence that he did in fact spend big.
