Moyes' first signing?

There's no way Fellaini's suited to the box-to-box role. He only has 12 speed and 11 acceleration.

Your concept of a box to box player seems to be some marauding up and down the pitch at100mph.

Lamaprds never been blessed with pace, though has brilliant positioning and timing.

Fellaini has similar qualities in that he is valuable in both parts of the field. Thats box-to-box.

I have a strange feeling Moyes will go after Bale this summer.

If we sign Fellaini, I at least hope it is as a CM and not AM.

surely down to the chief exec aswell, if they don't feel the player fits the club they won't sign him. don't know if fellaini would fit us on/off the field

Is that what you want at the club? A manager recently appointed asks for a player and the chief exec tells him "nah, you're not getting him, he won't sell enough shirts"?

You should go and follow Chelsea.

If Moyes wants him I'm sure United will try and get him. And I don't see shy he wouldn't want him, he's a very good player in an area and with a style we're lacking.

One of the reasons Sir Alex did the job was, is because people didn't interfere so Moyes has free reign but he'll probably get feedback from Sir Alex.

There's liking a player for Everton and liking one for United. I think he probably will go back to his old club and obviously Ronaldo

I have changed my tune on Fellaini - think he will be a great signing for us.

Think there is a lot more to him than aerial strength and he should greatly add to our CM options.

With Scholes and Fletcher most likely gone, Fellaini and another CM would do very nicely this summer.

I wont be surprised if Moyes decides to play safe and get players who are either on cheap (Mccarthy or Lampard) or else he knows alot about (Felliani)

I think Fellaini will only have people semi-excited if he's brought in as a midfielder. Everton have played him higher up the pitch though and I think people have reservations about him playing there for us. You'd like to think that we can find someone better for that role if needed, there seems to be a lot of those players around at the moment.

No way we will play him higher up the pitch, Moyes only did that because he comparatively had much worse options up front than in CM.

Fellaini's best performances have come in CM in the past and it'd be crazy to think he can displace our strikers/Kagawa there.

If he came to the club tomorrow he would straight away be our 2nd most consistent/most frequently picked midfielder after Carrick.

Moyes has Osman and Gibbo as their CM pair. So, although his team is setup to be solid and hard to break, he isn't shy on using two CM that can pass the ball well; instead of having two 'workhorse' ala Mancini's City.

The advantage of Fellaini is, he's capable to defend even though his primary position is an AM.

And you're basing this on? If he is like any good manager, he would have had a look at many players who he knows are top class even though he can't afford them. I fully expect us to sign a few talented youngsters and a marquee player.

Gibbo is hardly a workhorse IMO.

A workhorse is someone who's stamina is their best quality, Gibson's stamina is average. His passing is his best quality.

He's had his best season by miles. And his transfer fee will reflect that

If we sign him it better be to use him in his best position behind a striker

Miralles has probably shown more individual moments this season than Young as Young is just doing the basics. But Young is probably better at those basics, ie passing the ball around simply and putting in a couple of crosses.

I don't think Felaini is good enough for us. I'm sure there are better options for us to look at.

I think Moutinho would be a big upgrade for us. I'd look at trying to force Vidal to come here as well.

The only player I'd take from them is Mirallas, who has the potential to be a very good winger. I don't feel Fellaini will improve us at all.

Zaha!

don't want anyone from Everton to be honest....

I think based on Fergie's press conferences over the previous weeks our first signings may well all players identified by our scouts and current management team

I do hope there is a quality midfielder included - if not I hope Moyes insists on one

Fellaini not good enough for us? He would be the second best CM at the club after Carrick.

Yeah, but there are a lot of players who would be our 2nd best cm after Carrick, not exactly a position of strength. Fellaini shouldn't be good enough for us.

Fallaini could be very decent in a defensive midfield role. I'd be worried if he was played further up the pitch. The team could end up playing a lot of long high balls due to his height.

He is one of the best midfielders in the PL. The big sides will all be sniffing around him.

What does "he shouldnt be good enough" mean? He clearly would be if he's betyter than what we have in that area - or do you think we should have Xavi and Iniesta?

I'm surprised at all the stick Fellaini is getting on here. We lack a defensive midfield player, and rather than just go for a ball winner who rusn round like a headless chicken for 90 miniutes, I'd prefer if we went for someone who has a bit more to his game.

Fellaini is a hard worker, seems to relish the big games and is totally different to anything we have. He's learned trade in the PL and deserves a chance to step up a level. I think he'd fit right in personally. Make us stronger as a unit in midfield.

That's really not saying much.

Exactly. We should be improving our midfield to the highest standard. Not just a minor improvement in Fellaini.

Fellaini scares teams the same way Andy Carroll does

I'd like to think we'd target a player with more technical ability rather than someone who dictates they way you play in order to get the best out of him

I think Fellaini is limited in terms of footballing ability

edit - Dembele would have been a better fit for us
