Moyes' first signing?

I still reckon it's going to be Moutinho.

A newbie Everton fan posted a big post in the newbies claiming that Moyes extensively scouted Dzeko, Hazard etc before they became such household names. Obviously Everton didn't had the funds to complete deals.

I don't really think you can look into that much. With players of those calibre you will always get a variety of managers seeing their availability.

Take Big Sam and Lewandowski for example. Aye, Lewandowski improved hugely at Dortmund but they both saw the potential in him.

I cant see why it wouldnt be a substantial one even if it was in there. If you buy a player for £15 million plus bonuses and you're aware big clubs might come in for him because he's playing well and important to you, whats your release clause going to be?

It'll be substantial no doubt. Not much change out of £25 million I wouldnt think.

I may do this in its on thread if people want

Not many central midfielders in there

I'd rather Fellaini than some brick shithouse "destroyer" type like Wanyama or Tiote that some people on here want.

Wanyama has loads more to his game than just being a destroyer. And as a footballer, he's infinitely better than Tiote.

We are a passing team more than a defensive one, I'd rather concentrate on the stats that shows how well he'll retain possession in our midfield. Lots of managers think that the modern game needs midfielders who can read the game these days not those hard men anymore. We've also never played with a DM. we dont need one with only 80 percent pass completion. We are Man Utd, a team that does more passing and interceptions in midfield than tackling.

Show me some stats of how he does for Belgium then. I was only responding to what was presented in front of me.

How about this then, last season, when he actually played in midfield he only lost the ball 33 times in 34 games.

Not Baines. Fabio will go on to be better than Baines and Evra, you heard it here first.

Would be surprised to see Rafael turn out better than Evra never mind Fabio. Here's to hoping, though. :)

A decent signing would definitely help ease some fear.
I don't want anyone from Everton. Baines if we must but I still want to see at least another full season from Evra.

I think people here underrate Fellaini. Not saying he's anywhere near my top choice, but he's a good player (yes, in CM). He's not just good in the air, he's physical, he has a good touch, good passer, aggressive. He wouldn't be a good option to have.

I am confused why we are continually linked with Baines. It goes against our policy of breaking the bank for players 27 or over (is it it 26?) unless they world class. Banies is good but not world class, plus we are stocked in that position.

Does anyone actually want us to him?

If we can get Baines for a decent price I say go for it.

Yes he's 29, but he is quality in my opinion.

Baines would be a decent signing if the price was right, but it won't be and we have more pressing needs.

According to the Sun. He wants to get Benzema as a replacement for Rooney.

Id rather see us replacing Rooney with a midfielder or someone who can act as a link man. We've already got too many strikers upfront.

Don't really want to keep Rooney, but want to replace him with Benzema even less.

Benzema was always one of those players Sir Alex loved but couldn't quite tempt to come to Old Trafford. It wouldn't be a bad first signing for Moyes to make!

I'd prefer it to be the second after a world class CM though.

AvB has warned Moyes off of Bale. Signing Bale as a first signing would be some fecking statement.

Wilshere, Modric and Bale with Rooney off to Madrid and Nani to the Spuds..a mate had a vision

Read this too, great striker and I'd definitely have him here, but he snubbed us for Real Madrid as I seem to remember, and I don't believe in giving players that do that a second chance once their attempt at their first choice goes sour.

I am surprised so many people want Baines. One is we will have three left backs next season and second, he is English so he is going to be expensive. And yes £15-17m for a position we absolutely dont need is expensive and a waste.

Berbatov has moaned at him a fair few times on the pitch, so surely that qualifies him as an alternative to Nani

To be fair he moans at everybody, even himself.

Clasie loves RVP so make it happen!
