Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

I never really wanted him to come in if i'm being honest and I preferred Moyes to him in terms of keeping up with the club stood for. Mourinho loves a media circus and alienating other managers wherever he goes he does too much talking when he is not winning Truth is nobody gets to spend as much as him so he should be expected to win titles. He is a winner if you want to win immediately at any cost bring him in but if you have a project and tradition he is not the man for me.

That's not often - he's won the league 7 times out of the last 11.

It is midly amusing how Jose Mourinho was by far and away the redcafe favourite for next United manager when it was up in the air but now it's Moyes, everyone seems to be sticking the boot into him.

For the record, Alex Ferguson said that he was exactly the same at the same age.

I can only speak for myself. I did a thread in the newbies about favourites for the United job, I always wanted Moyes so it's happy days for me. When I say sore loser I'm also talking about within a season when Inter where struggling it was the refs fault or there was a vendetta. Same thing in the Champions League when he was coming up short and the same thing in Spain. When he is not winning he is not a good sport hard to deny that.

So Sir Alex was poking people in the eye was he? Constantly slagging of a team and their manager because they where better? Then slagging off your own players? Sir Alex is not perfect by saying Sir Alex was like that does not magically exonerate Mourinho. Rival fans would have a lot to say about Sir Alex he was our manager so we supported him and are more likely to overlook what he does. But Mourinho has hardly covered himself in glory in Madrid imo.

Like I said he is a winner but not the kind of man I would want here.

Just use a bit common sense. We got new manager, and Mou will (99%) manage our title rival. What do you expect?

Have you ever read what rival club fans say about SAF?

On the other hand, SAF and Jose get on well by all accounts, do you not believe that SAF is a better judge of character?

Yes that is my point rival fans do not like Sir Alex.

I would rather follow my own opinion on someone over another persons. I don't like how Mourinho carries himself in comparison to a Ancelotti, Conte or even a Guardiola. Win and lose with grace. He forgets the fortunate decisions they get when they win and emphasizes them when they lose. He has always been charismatic but that seems to be because he has rarely struggled at Real I have seen the bad side of his character.

Bad news for us. Nevermind. Hopefully his return takes the media attention away from Moyes.

Abramaovic is such an idiot.

If he'd just left him at it years ago, and invested the money he spent hiring and firing managers since in players they'd have the best team in the world by now and probably a few more titles.

Have to be favourites for the league now IMO. The love in is going to be sickening.

This. Hopefully more meddling and buying of past it players for huge money being foisted into the team again.

They'd probably be further down the league IMO.

So many Utd fans showing their arses over this. He will be there 2 years before Roman gets bored again and fires him. They are already favourites to win the league now he is back their- good the underdog tag suits us fine. We only need a few tweaks here and there and i cannot see anyone beating us to the league title if quality is added in the correct places. No matter who City/Chelsea buy- don't forget they have a 13 point gap from last year to close in a season where a lot of us would admit we were way below par a lot of the time. I'll start worrying come March if either of our two main title rivals have an insumountable lead. Until then business as usual.

What?

They would be in a much better position then they are now, in pretty much every way that matters, surely no doubt over this.

Why is there no doubt over that?

Mourinho has not proven that he can maintain a club over the course of seasons. He has shown that he falls out with important players/chairmen and I am not massively impressed with his record in the transfer market either.

Do you know how much they've spent hiring and firing managers since Jose left?

Ye don't forget Jose made some pretty terrible signings and his start to 07/08 was awful, they'd definitely lost that aura of invincibility they had in the first two seasons.

They wouldn't be the best team in the world if he'd been left to it, Barca and Bayern would have made sure of that.

I don't see anyone saying anything different. Being favourites is one thing, doing it is another and the favourites tag brings its own pressure.

I still think it will give them a boost but with their main title rivals going through change Chelsea are going back to the familiar and what worked in the past, which IMO has to make them favourites.... Which suits me fine, I prefer when Utd are the underdog.

If they strengthen where they need to, which they almost certainly will, then I think they'll win the title next season.

Well we'll never know. They've spent about 70million sacking managers, and lets not forget the 50m blown on Torres as well.

They will be favourites with him at the helm the only manager in the top four bar Wenger who has won the league. They will give him money to spend and they need a new cb and a new striker currently, those are their pressing needs.

He's fallen out with senior figures at clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea of course. When you consider the period of time managers tend to last at these clubs, if you're there for more than a year and manage to not fall out with them then you can be pleased.

Abramovich does what he wants I doubt Jose being there would have stopped that transfer he wanted Torres the same way he wanted Shevchenko. It will be hard for them to co-exist after a season or two. Jose likes complete control. While Abramovich treats the club like his play thing. It is no secret they wanted Pep but I expect Mourinho to do well. He suits Chelsea in all honesty.

£100m isn't a lot in today's market. They need a RB and a CB as a minimum, along with a striker.

They are sorted at right back with Luiz leaving that leaves 100 million for a striker and a cb and a midfielder. You can get enough quality with that money.
