Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

He was my first choice a few weeks ago, but his recent love-in for Chelsea turns me off big time. It's almost as if he's begging for the job.

Klopp all the way.

The way this is happened an indicator for Mourinho to come in? I can't help but feel that Fergie's stepped aside to show him that we want him and that he should choose us over Chelsea.

Mou>Moyes. If that's the choice.

Geoff Shreeves on SSN said about half hour ago that Mourinho definitely won't be taking the United job. He wants to come back to England, but for him England is London where his family is comfortable.

Moyes it is lads.

Did Mou actually say anything about Chelsea, I mean mention the name of a club? Didn't he just say some stuff about being loved in England? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If Mourinho has actually agreed to go to Chelsea what are United supposed to do?

I think we told Mourinho we weren't interested weeks ago and since he's been flirting with Chelsea.

To do some speculation backed up with some empirical material:

Mourinho never mentions the name of this "one club", he's just wandering around the porridge as one may say in Norway. So, the question is, has he ever actually said Chelsea? I mean, everyone's always assumed that's the club, but with this recent development isn't it suddenly just as likely that he's talking about United? He has, after all, said some pretty nice things about us in recent months after their CL victory.

Seems like assumption. I don't expect to get Jose either, but I think that's more United not wanting him rather than Jose himself not wanting the job, which I think he would.

Has Mourinho actually mentioned Chelsea at all recently? I know there's been plenty of paper speculation but all I can recall him actually saying is that there is one club in England he especially wants to manage?

In my opinion, Mourinho is still a strong possibility for us.

Ive had the impression all along that Mourinho was begging for the United job, and used Chelsea as a bargaining tool really.

Would be strange to see Mourinho and Lampard at OT next season!

My perfect assignment would be for Scholes and Giggs to come in as coaches, and for Mourinho to take over as manager. Mourinho and Fergie could then school both of them in the art of management, and then when the inevitable time comes for Mourinho to leave, we have a management combination perfect for United. Fit Solksjaer somewhere into that too and it looks even more promising.

Last chance to get Mou and it meant Fergie had to retire.

We're getting Mou and stopping him going to Chelsea.

Moyes will go to Arsenal. Wenger will go to PSG.

I also think Mourinho is ambitious enough to prefer this job over any other. He's pointed out Fergie's achievements in the past and I think this would be the best shot at ever reaching his level.

Is it just coincidence that Mourinho is leaving Madrid and Fergie has retired?

I don't know. Everyone seems far too sure that Moyes is coming in for it not to be happenin in my opinion.

Mourinho camp playing #MUFC link down (via @martynziegler). The Moyes camp have been very quiet today

Just as much of a coincidence that Moyes' contract happens to running out. Which is why I don't see any reason to be convinced it's Moyes over Mourinho.

The long-term successor comments point to Moyes, but all the talk previously was about needing a European proven manager when the day (:() comes.

I think people get swayed by betting odds a bit too much also.

I have just been told by Jose Mourinho's camp that #ManchesterUnited have not made any approach to Jose #Mourinho.

It won't be Mourinho. It can't be when you think about it.

We never really go for flashy and over the top, we simply quietly go about our business.

Is a bit of a mismatch isn't it.

This.

Would be a bit disappointed if he was appointed tbh.

You mean the last time we went for a manager 25 years ago?

If he's available and would like the job then I can't for one minute imagine we aren't in for him, or would take Moyes ahead of him.

If he doesn't come here it's because he doesn't want to. Any other reason and we've dropped a clanger by not going for him when the opportunity is there. He's the best man out there after the one we've just lost.
