Mourinho bringing on Fellaini to defend a lead

The forum really is full of idiots.

He was brought on as they were throwing long balls into the box. Hardly his fault he was so clumsy in the box.

No they fecking weren't. Darmian had Delofeu in his pocket and he wasn't able to put crosses in. You're just saying that as a coping mechanism and rewriting the past hour's events. It was a fecking terrible sub especially as Mkhitaryan was putting in more effective defensive work than Fellaini ever could.

That single decision is going to turn so many fans against him.

Very true.

When did we park the bus
Once we brought on Fellaini...we stopped pressureing them in their half which was why they were not able to do anything with their possession. Then once we sat back invited them to play football and lo and behold .

Lessons aren't being learnt at all. We instantly look more like conceding a goal the moment Mourinho decides to shut up shop.

It's a poor sub. Hopefully, Mourinho learns from this.

For Christ sake - that started long Before Fellaini entered the pitch

So we parked the bus for 5 minutes despite having chances after their goal.

Very fine line on here. If Felaini hadn't had a rush of blood . And we had seen out the game . It would be Jose was tactically spot on.

We know why he was brought on.

Thing is, we already had a team of tall players who were dealing with the aerial threat just fine.

Bringing Fellaini on just invites more pressure as it means we've resigned ourselves to defending for the rest of the game, rather than trying to stymie Everton's momentum by getting on the ball ourselves.

No surprise when that approach results in a penalty being conceded.

Getting an actual DM would be a good idea in January than rely on people to just occupy a position they can't play.

Remember what happened when Chelsea got Matic? they looked like a different side.

I don't even understand why he brings him on... He is terrible at defending. Slow and clumsy, weak tackler and poor positioning.

Mourinho is at fault here for me. Fellaini is just being his usual useless self

I can't think of a worse player to bring on when protecting a lead than Fellaini.

He's the complete antithesis in closing a game out, he can't keep hold of the ball, he constantly gives away fouls. He's not even good in the air.

It was an idiotic decision to bring him on, and that isn't hindsight talking. Everyone could see that as Fellaini was coming on, everyone but Jose.

Not for me. I want to see good football and we didn't play very well today. I'd be satisfied but not happy, that's my personal expectation though. The result wouldn't change my thoughts on the match as a whole.

If I was an opposition player and I saw that bumbling clusterfeck of a player coming on it would make me raise my game. He's a shit stain on the club, an embarrassing bell end and I can't believe he still gets a game.

However, Fellaini is absolutely village and needs to be shipped to the championship where he belongs. That pass into the touchline right at the end, yet alone coming on and giving away 2 points with your first involvement in the game, is unforgivable alone.

You have to question the managing ability of Mourinho when he brings on the player most likely to do something stupid, when we really need to not do something stupid.

If he wanted height he should have subbed inn a cb for a fullback like normal managers do but he is too smart for that. It's the second time this has happened only difference is that the cafe this time does not a player on his but also the managers bad decision

Don't think it was a bad decision to bring him on as their long balls and crosses were causing issues and it isn't Jose's fault Fellaini is a stupid fecker

You are right we stopped pressuring them before Fellaini came on but Fellaini coming on is a signal to set up shop completely which I can never agree.

So many things wrong with that.

1. Fellaini is awful for defending anytime.
2. He is actually a poor header
3. I would try to play Blind or Schweini in midfield to bring some composure.

Gary Neville can see the sense in the substitution and said no reflection in the manager.

Open your eyes you bunch of babies.

The blame is with Fellaini.

What does these well-experienced managers see in Fellaini? Honestly it is bordering on insane that he's still at the club. One of the worst rudiments of the Moyes era and one that we seemingly can't get rid of. He is absolutely not a defender and neither is he a striker. He's just shit.

You all have to remember.

Bailly being out doesn't help, he's good in the air.

Is Schneiderlin injured though? he could have done better than Fellaini, even TFM.

95% of the posts in this thread bring no constructive discussion to the Caf. If you guys want to vent go do it elsewhere.

No it's not.

It was logical to put a big man on to counter Everton. The big man had to be the right quality though. Fellaini isn't. I'd rather have had Bailly on and Jones in midfield!

All subs have been wrong, but to bring on Fellaini was stupid even if he wouldn't have caused a penalty. I said prior to him coming on it's completely wrong

Bailly was on the bench.
