Mourinho bringing on Fellaini to defend a lead

Embarrasing people booing him like that. Actually never seen it like that at another club. You may not like his football qualities but he has always been very professional, he never complains in the media, never embarrased the club, he always does his best on the pitch and does his work. Booing him like that because he made a penalty mistake previous match, it is outright disgusting.

His football style is not in lign with what most fans want from a United player but he was bought by the club and he has been deemed usefull and played by 3 different managers now. All people the club has payed alot of money for because they believe know alot about football and trust their judgement. If people are that unhappy with the idea of Fellaini as a United player, then boo the managers who keep playing him or boo the club for hiring people who think he is a usefull player but stop booing a player that is just doing his job the best he can.

How would fans go about booing the club exactly?

Congregate outside the stadium in groups and just boo?

The fans are entitled to boo but I'm not a fan of it personally. He's not good enough for United sure but at least give him support when he's playing for the club.

I have always thought if you don't like a player who plays for your team, say nothing. Better yet, be a bit more objective and try to offer some constructive criticism. Booing your own players is never a good thing, he made a mistake that cost United two points, most United fans agree he isn't United class - I don't like him as a player at all - but booing a player who is warming up isn't doing anyone any good.

How would match goers in the stadium do that exactly?

They could write a note on a paper aeroplane. Mind you, some of these precious snowflakes would be outraged and disgusted if they seen someone throwing paper.

That kind of attitude's part of the problem as well though. No point slagging off a player who's already probably suffering from a lack of confidence. Much more productive to cheer him and try get his confidence back up, because while he's here, like it or not, he is a United player.
He is an awful player, with or without confidence. Maybe if he feels completely disconnected with the fans he'll be more eager to move

Mourinho only brought him on today to prove a point. He's a proper troll, is our Jose.

The criticism after the Everton match was over the top. It could have happened to anyone.

Preferably don't boo because it doesn't help shit but if you can't help then boo during the game but without singleing out individual players or boo before the kick off or after the final whistle.

He may have a contract with United but he's not a United player. He's simply too shit to be one.

The earliest everyone realise it the better. He can build a good career with Stoke and we might one day return to our former best without him.

I am sick of has been and never been to expect United to treat them with respect. Respect is not given for free, its earned

I hate people

Hate seeing our fans boo our own players or team. No matter who. The only time I would have ever joined in on it would have been for Moyes by the end, and even then... Would probably feel like a cnut. As much as I hate fellaini as a player and want him sold as soon as possible, you just don't boo your own players.

I just don't get the decisions to bring Fellaini on the wings. If you are defending against wide players, you probably want someone quick, strong, and than can tackle well. I'd much rather TFM come on as a defensive winger than Fellaini out wide. I think taking Pogba off for Fellaini makes more sense as Fellaini isn't as likely to switch off as Pogba.

Maru the belgian wanger
Was booed from the stalls
They never let poor maru
Hit others with his elbows

Then one foggy christmas eve
Jose came to say
Maru youre so tall and bright
Why dont you play in defense tonight?

Then the toffees fans loved him
As he gave a penalty
Maru the belgian wanger
The shittiest player in history

Cute. What a twat you are

I don't think the supporters were booing him per se, but, rather, the idea of bringing him on when we're defending a one goal advantage.

Match going United fans are in general very very supportive to the team and manager...no matter what is happening in the league. No question about that. Personally, I think the booing was more about Mourinho's decision to do it than it was about the player himself, although obviously United fans the world over aren't in love with Fellaini.

Was a good decision today.
There was only about a min or 2 to go, he was sent miles up the pitch, and it quickly put to bed last week, as we realised he's not the absolute joke liability people were ridiculously hyping him up to be.

Having said that, Mourinho has finally worked out our best lineup, and he's not in it.

He was on for about 1 minute.
You think that because he didn't cause a calamity in 1 minute, that he is a decent player?
I'm 42 and have no football skill. Even I could play for 1 minute, without giving away a freekick or penalty.
1 minute without calamity is not the standard we should be looking for.

It's a difficult one. It's not nice to see Utd fans booing one of their own but at the same time I share their frustration. Fellaini isn't good enough for Utd and I'm sick of seeing him in a Utd shirt.

It really would benefit everyone for him to be sold as soon as possible.

But what would booing before/after the game and randomly during it achieve exactly?

Booing is people voicing their dissatisfaction and/or frustration, in this case at the possibility of Fellaini being brought on. Booing randomly would be pointless especially during the game because the players might think the fans are booing them all.

I don't think players should be booed either but others feel differently and they pay to go see the game so it is what it is.

That was my take on it at the time. More of a message to Mourinho than booing Fellaini.

That's how I saw it too - the fans message to Mourinho, not to bring on Fellaini, rather than booing Fellaini himself.
Not nice for Fellaini I agree, but its not nice for Schweinsteiger either to be constantly overlooked in favour of Fellaini.

The criticism after the Everton match was over the top. It could have happened to anyone.
He gave away literally the same penalty against Watford also in the 90th minute in the exact same place in the box so maybe it could happen to anyone but it seems to happen to Fellaini more.

However shit he might be, booing your own players is classless. It's not his fault managers keep picking him.

Ye and those who boo their own have no class and never will

Who can say? I don't feel to have what it takes to patronise other fans especially those go to watch and pay to watch the match. Neither does Mourinho to be fair. There again we're not you

The penalty in the 94th minute which saw Watford turn 2-1 into 3-1?

If Bailly didn't get sent crawling then Fellaini wouldn't have needed to put a challenge in. Utd were desperate.

What has Fellaini done to deserve being disrespected ?

What has Fellaini done to deserve being disrespected ?

What has he done to earn it? Hes got no talent, he is clumbsy and hes a nasty player whose quick to elbow opponents to the face

A team like ours has high standards and fellaini just doesnt get even close to reaching them. The fans has the right to give an opinion on that as mou clearly said himself. Hopefully the club will get the message.

Well that's the point, it doesnt. He is extremely clumsy and fouls a lot and, on top, is just not good enough on the ball to justify him coming on to see out a result

Wasnt surprised to see him come on, you have to get back on the horse quickly after a fall or it will build up into a bigger mental hurdle than it needs to be. Fellaini needed to exorcise those demons quickly, Mourinho allowed him to do that and it should hopefully give him closure, especially if fans can resist the temptation to boo him next time he comes on. Everyone needs to move on.
