Morgan Schneiderlin | Everton Player

I'd like for him to do very well in a club where the manager can show some trust and confidence in him despite all the apparent experts here on their opinions on his mentality and determination.

£24m would be a really good deal for us. He's still a good player and will do well for a club like Everton. Don't think he has the mentality to play for United

With Schweinsteiger moving on, Fellaini not being good quality and Carrick turning 36 next season we are going to have to get a couple of new midfielders.

Still think he's a very good player. Just not good enough on the ball to play for a top team.

Looks like brief from either of the clubs or the agent of the player. If mou does not deny it, it will be done early. If Bastian leaves as well, then we will sign a midfielder in january.

He's had more then enough chances here. He's looked awful just about every time he's played and never had the right mentality to succeed here. Doesn't take responsibility on the pitch to actually do anything productive and basically goes missing every game. Not what you want from a midfielder. Would take anything over 10m for him in a heartbeat, if we actually manage to get close to 20 or more then that would be great for us. Just so average in every department without the determination or mentality to elevate him
This, the guy has just been bang average for us everytime he played. Wish him the best though.

Wenger got absolutely cunted for not buying MS when he had the chance.

Schneiderlin wanted to go to either Arsenal or Tottenham, neither would pay the asking price at the time so he (reluctantly?) signed for Utd who would pay the fee . He apparently wanted to go to Tottenham again last summer, José put the mockers on that apparently and said he needed him. Then consigned him to the bench or the stands. Lad must be hacked off in a prpoer way.

We actually really needed someone like him at that time.

We have given Southampton over 50 million pounds over the last three seasons. In return we have so far got 10 good games from Luke Shaw.

As for Schneiderlin, I can barely remember him in a United shirt. He'll be mentioned in the 2026 edition of the "Did he really play for them?" thread.

I wish he went to Arsenal instead, he would have been a perfect fit for them under Wenger. Wrong club, right time.

How do you know he wanted to go Arsenal or Spurs?

Ahhh.......little birdy and all that stuff. It was also reported in some UK papers at the time.
Apparently he was less than convinced about Van Gaal and furthermore he and Camille were settled in London at that time. Even when he was playing at Southampton.

As said he was a good player but nowhere to work class. He wasn't even a Carrick let alone a Scholes or a Keane. He had an excellent season or two but the rest it was meah.

Not on Scholes or Keane's level so hes overrated. Sometimes the opinions on this site are just unbelievable
Fletcher was crucial to some of our best teams...farthest from overrated you can get

Bottled it for us and I'm sure he'll return to form at a smaller club with less pressure like Everton. Good luck to him.

I know Schneiderlin has never really set the world alight for us but it is a bit strange how few appearances he made for us, particularly this season.

I think it'd be a good move for everyone though, provided we are fairly compensated. He clearly isn't going to become a regular here and is capable of being a good player in the right system.

24 million is a fantastic figure for an incredibly average player.

Remember the caf during summer '15. We signed Schweini en Schneiderlin, one of the best midfielders in the world and the best midfielder in the premier league. Our midfield problem finally solved, best central midfield in the pl.

Lolzah.

I think it was the Champions league last season where he stood out as hugely out of his depth. He couldn't string a pass together and would pass back at every opportunity.

Maybe the passing back was but he just looked awful against PSV at Old Trafford, just clueless when we were trying to find a goal.

Erm yes we looked clueless all year trying to find a goal.

Well we now have Pogba and Herrera so we're good.

Was it not closer to 60m?

Agreed though and this is what sums up United at the moment, square pegs round holes. Shaw and Schneiderlin looked much better in a system that suited them at Southampton.

Surprised if Spurs don't throw their hat into the ring with regards to buying him. Poch would get him back to his best again, I'm sure.

They don't need him.

It's a huge indictment on him if he doesn't have the mentality to fight for his place in a Utd team aspiring for Top 4. I am interested to hear his side of the story if/when he leaves. No player will accept being called a bottler.

£24m is insanely good. Though it would be annoying if he shows his Southampton form at Everton, Koeman knows him best.

Yup I would be of the same thinking but he did something like that or else scored 5/6 in a run of games and people never shut up about it on here as some sort of vindication of his supposed 'excellence'.

I could be wrong but wasn't it 8 goals in 9 games near the beginning of the Moyes era, and the outrage came when he was dropped for an out of form RVP who just got back from injury (hence Welbeck having that run of games)

Think we'll regret selling him, or more precisely regret not giving him genuine opportunities.
