Morgan Schneiderlin | Everton Player

James McCarthy is likely to make way, I can see somebody like WBA paying 15M for him, with Everton getting their money back. I'd say Schneiderlin has proven himself above McCarthy, so 20M isn't unreasonable. I also think there should be an Everton levy the way they act when selling players.

Merson on a sky Sports this morning was saying that Barkley is off to Spurs for £35 million and they'll use that money to buy Schneiderlin and Depay.

Barkely at Spurs seems a strange fit.

So, Morgan can't even get on the bench now.
And unlike Bastian, Morgan is at the peak of his powers.

I always felt like his work rate dropped when he signed for us. He didn't strike me as the type to sit back once he got the big contract but that's what I think he's done.

I wanted him to get more chances but it's José who sees him train every day and clearly he hasn't shown enough.

Think Everton will have a great window if they sign both Schneiderlin and Depay for relatively little money. I'd say it's too early to judge either player in the Prem, neither has had a long enough spell, though I trust Jose's planning.

Haven't seen anything from both since signing for United that suggest they are actually good players for a topclub. Been very poor from them.

Schneiderlin was great for Southampton and Memphis is still young enough to progress, while he's shown he's got ability, just whether or not he's got the discipline to succeed. They were bought for North of 50m combined. I'd certainly hope we'd recoup most of what we paid for Morgan and tie in some bonuses to the Memphis deal, if it materializes.

Price should go up after watching Everton's midfield in the second half.

If we could get close to enough for him to pay for this Lindelof fella then it'd be ok, but disappointing he hasn't proved good enough.

Good signing for Everton. A midfield of Gueye - Schneiderlin looks potentially solid on paper. They do need new blood in their attack though. Barkley/Mirallas/Bolasie are average and Enner Valencia is hilarious.

BBC and Canal+ on it too now. Its as good as done now. Hope he has a good career, sad it dint work out for him here, all the best for future except against united.

He will be a good player for them and questions will be asked why it didn't work out here respectively why he didnt get a proper run

Total nothing player in his time here, barely remember a thing he's done on the pitch. Everton have bought more decisive CMs in recent years.

was he really that bad? I feel he was never given a fair shake.

I can't remember anything above a 7/10 performance if I'm honest. I really wanted it to work for him :( I'm a firm believer in managers being allowed the luxury of judging players on how they train though.

I still remember the chaos in that summer where we bought him. He was linked by Canal+ who said he is closer to United than to Arsenal and that broke this place. I really liked him at Southampton and wanted him at United. Shame how it worked out.

He's terrible in the air and too slow to release the ball when in possession. As far as Mourinho's concerned, he's an anti-midfielder.

A decent engine and reasonable at closing spaces, though. Everton would need to play him in a compact midfield three to get the best out of him.

I tend to be in this camp. Also seems like he suffered a huge loss in confidence under LVG. Probably best for him to move on and get his career moving in the right direction again.

Still think he's a good player. Great signing for Everton.

Letting Giroud run free for the Arsenal equaliser a few weeks ago - that was the last straw, I reckon. I posted at the time that I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play again under Mourinho. And he hasn't.

Arsenal dodged a bullet. His wages would have made him among the top earners there.

He goes missing in games which would fit in well there but what is un Arsenal-like is the lack of quality with the ball.

I'm sort of the same. Though given his limited nature as a player, it's somewhat understandable. Still think he's a good player and think he'll be a good signing for Everton. Gueye and Schneiderlin will be a fairly solid defensive midfield trio, but won't offer anything going forward.

Think Everton may be requiring too much of their attacking player, but their issue to be.

It's truly bizarre how it's ended up going for him here, this place was going mental when we signed him, I remember being really excited and picking him out at the start of the summer as a player I'd love us to bring in. I feel a bit disappointed he never really got given the chance, but I won't lose any sleep over it. Still feels like a waste of potential talent.

Upgrade to Barry
