Morgan Schneiderlin | Everton Player

He's been a truly pointless signing. I can remember the summer we signed him well, everybody was over the moon.

We shouldn't really be accepting anything less than 24 to be honest. They're in dire need of a couple of signings and he was a very good PL centre mid before he came here. Happy to see him go though, he doesn't have the right mentality for a club of our size and has been absolutely useless.

He will be a great replacement for Barry. Shame it didn't work out, he had some good performances for us but Herrera+Pogba are the clear starters for a long time in our midfield.

Barry is twice the player of Schneiderlin, I don't see him as a replacement for them at all.

too bad indeed if he goes without ever getting his chance. Coquelin became an important player for Arsenal and he is a very limited player given a chance.

I always thought if given his chance Schneiderlin is a superior player compared to Coquelin.

Yeah, but compare that to Fletcher, who was the recipient of dogs abuse for a couple of seasons, and who ended up being key to one of the most successful runs in our history and a fans favourite.

A one in a million made up of OShits, Phils, Andos, Cleverleys, Youngs etc

Also Fletcher was very overrated. He was good but he was hardly world class

He's a good player, but aside from a very brief decent spell with us, the stage has just looked much too big for him. A bit like Darmian in that respect.

What a waste of a signing. I had really high hopes for him and still like him as a player. Im not buying any crap about his 'poor attitude' or that maybe he's 'bad in training'. He simply wasn't given a chance by a manager who doesn't rate him at all yet has a place for the likes of Fellaini and Darmian

I was really excited when we signed him and thought he'd be the player we needed since Keane but clearly his ability on the ball is not good enough for a big club. He's been given plenty of chances but hasn't really impressed whenever he plays.

I really didn't understand the hype when we signed in (admittedly I don't watch a great deal of football outside of our games) but he really should have been given more of a chance. Oh well.

Have to disagree on Fletcher, he was a very good player and sometimes I think he is underrated. For the few years when we were very successful was one of our most important players and made such a difference to our play I felt. You could see that we missed him big style in the final in 2009 v Barcelona, after he was wrongly sent off in the semi's v Arsenal, for the excellent tackle on Fabregas.

Was just about to say the same. At the time, there were a lot of people said the 2009 final would have been a different story had he not been suspended.

He'll do well for Everton. A Gueye - Schneiderlin midfield 2 can be tasty.

We can agree to disagree. Guess we will see next year/January.

I still think he is a very decent player but he just didn't get a chance at Utd - be it due to poor form or just not being fancied by the manager. He will be a great signing for somebody.

As said he was a good player but nowhere to work class. He wasn't even a Carrick let alone a Scholes or a Keane. He had an excellent season or two but the rest it was meah.

That happens everytime with injured/unavailable players don't they and the more the players remains out of the team the better he becomes. Take Fabio Silva. He was slowly becoming the new Maldini by simply sitting on the bench/treatment room. We just love to hype our kids apart from when that kid happens to be Paul Scholes

Na, I said it at the time, we missed Fletcher in that game

I think he's a good player, but never really had the chance to show it.

I really couldn't say what you have said because frankly, I never watched that many Southampton games that year. He has shown almost nothing at all for us though. He's had a few opps and never looked like he could take the chance and run with it - think United was a move too far (up) for him.

I think he's a good player, but never really had the chance to show it.
Agree 100%. He never got a consistent run of games to establish and prove himself.

He must be awful in training, because there is no logical reason why Fellaini has been above him in the pecking order. But you just know that he'll play brilliantly at Everton.

Really disappointed that it didn't/hasn't worked out for him at United.

I was thinking the same, it's the only explanation why he didn't play much. Mourinho gave everyone chances, even Basti came back from the dead and now he's ahead of Schneiderlin.

Its in all the papers that Schneiderlin to Everton for £24 million is on for January. Depay a maybe, or a loan deal. Although I Thought they would be good for Utd when they signed, they obviously havent shown enough when played, or in training, as they would of played more. Anyone sad to see them go?

Very sad to see Schneiderlin go.
Hard to say with Depay, if there is a buyback clause i suppose it's ok.

The thing is, he's been awful in matches too. I had very high hopes for the bloke but he really has been incredibly disappointing every time he's played for us. Fellaini gets more than his fair share of stick (a lot of it deserved) but he's comfortably out-performed anything we've seen from Schneiderlin in a United shirt, on multiple occasions. Chances are the manager's have been seeing the same thing in training as we've seen when he's featured for the first team.

I think Schneiderlin could have been very good under Mourinho and it's a shame how this one has worked out. I like what he brings to a midfield. He'll do very well at Everton.

Memphis, not so much. There are better players around him and outside of Europe he's never really looked up to much. Again, with more of a chance perhaps that could have changed this season, but my gut feeling tells me that it just wouldn't have worked out.

We should be pushing for good fees for them.

If they offer peanuts, which they are renowned for doing, then I'd tell them to feck right off.

This is the same club which forced us to fork out £27 million for Fellaini, knowing we were desperate. And labeled one of our bids for Baines as 'derisory'. Whilst at the same time picking up Tim Howard, Phil Neville, Darron Gibson and Tom Cleverley for under £5 million combined.

So Bill Kenwright, give us the right price for Depay or Schneiderlin or do one, you tight fisted prick.

Yes I'm still bitter. Had to get it off my chest.

It's a shame when it doesn't work out for any played but I'll be delighted if we get £24m for Schneiderlin all things considered. He's two years older, is out of form, out of selection and has achieved nothing here yet we could be making out money back.

Schneiderlin going out means we're going all in for a controller type CM in the summer. I'm excited.

As for Depay, it's crazy how it just doesn't seem to work out for him at all. Any chance Mendes can get us a fat fee from Valencia or PSG for him?

Biggest problem with him is that he doesn´t really fit into any of our midfield roles. Positionally not good enough to play defensive midfield, and further forward he´s quite good at pressuring opponents but when he actually gets the ball he doesn´t have the technique/ability or calmness to make proper use of it.

He will probably "excel" at a smaller club where most people love a player that runs around a lot and gets stuck in.

It's hard to believe how badly he did here. He was very good at Southampton. He'd forced himself into the reckoning for France too. He seemed like exactly what we needed, good defensively, very mobile and a decent range of passing.

Then he just went into his shell and never came out. He never wanted the ball, never had any confidence to impose himself on the game at all. He should be miles ahead of Fellaini as a CM if he was playing to even half of his potential. It's very disappointing. 24 million would be fantastic for a player who's flopped so badly.

Makes sense to sell both.

Schneiderlin seems to be one of those players I got totally wrong. Thought he would be perfect for us but he never made the step up.

Quite sad to be honest to see him go. He will joined the list of good player that united signed but didn't get enough chance to cemented their place. But hey we will sign another good player right?

He's had more then enough chances here. He's looked awful just about every time he's played and never had the right mentality to succeed here. Doesn't take responsibility on the pitch to actually do anything productive and basically goes missing every game. Not what you want from a midfielder. Would take anything over 10m for him in a heartbeat, if we actually manage to get close to 20 or more then that would be great for us. Just so average in every department without the determination or mentality to elevate him
